Don’t let Karen Gillan’s tights fool you; it’s been a beautiful day in London today.
The flame-haired actress was on the red carpet at the BFI Southbank this afternoon, attending the preview screening of the first episode of the new ‘Doctor Who’ series.
Dressed in a summery Dolce & Gabbana look which consisted of a peach jacquard print top with a floral-print skirt, one has to question the need for the tights.
A gold timepiece, black shoes and a nude lip colour completed her look.
Are you as baffled as I am?

OMG! This is BAD.
This is truly inexplicable, without the heavy tights and with summery sandals, it would’ve been just fine, although I’m not quite loving this top and the skirt together – would’ve preferred a simple white, light blue or yellow top.

This is atrocious. Nothing agrees with each other, those opaque black tights are incredibly heavy for her dress and makeup, and those black pumps blend into the tights completely. The only part of this look that matches is the hair and makeup with the dress.
This is awful.
I think this is wonderful!
It’s quirky and weird and nerdy-hipster fashion and it’s fun. It’s very Karen, very Amy Pond and very Doctor Who. It would have been horrible had she turned up in anything too sleek and “beautiful”.
I mean. Matt Smith is wearing pink stripy socks. It’s just weird and wonderful.

There’s quirky and there’s insane. This is insane. The top and bottom do not go together in any way, shape or form.
She always wears terrible shoes so I’m not surprised about that. The tights are baffling though.

I think the top and skirt doesn’t match at all.
Maybe she gets really cold legs? I do, even in Summer. Or she ran out of razors? I’m with Sea – it kind of looks like a normal hipstery outfit and goes with her laid-back, cool personality.
Maybe she didn’t have time to shave her legs. Always a valid reason for tights tbh.
Attention Karen Gillan:
Girl, you are not Zooey Deschanel. She gets a tights pass–but BARELY. You do not!
