After four weeks of non-stop fashion with awards season wedged in between, my Fall 2012 season ended with the King, Elie Saab.
On a glamorous colour palette of emerald green, gold, black, slate grey and ivory, the designer presented a lot less gowns than we are used to for Fall 2012.
Many of you wanted to see something new, so he kick-started the presentation with Karlie Kloss sporting blunt-cut bangs and wearing a tweed skirt suit with a peplum waist.
Who knew tweed could look so sexy? Apparently Karlie knew.
A succession of power-dressing daywear followed, fitted bi-colour dresses with structural silhouettes, architectural belted wool coats, loose-fitting pants paired with fur coats, fluted skirts, butterfly blouses and jumpsuits, one with sexy cobweb-like panels, the other paired with a very dramatic cape.
Some printed looks followed before the moody turn from glamorous to glitzy with a parade of gorgeous gowns; his speciality.
The emerald-green and the gold gowns really caught my eye, but I wouldn’t be disappointed to see any of them hit the red carpet.
I think Mr Saab should save the long-sleeve slate-grey gown with the thigh-high split for Ms Jolie, and, seeing how breathtaking Katie Holmes looks in Mr Saab’s designs, I’m putting the emerald-green gown on my wish list for her.
Key accessories included the croc, leather, jewelled and fur-accented bags and clutches alongside ankle boots and pointy-toe pumps.
If you didn’t watch the show live yesterday, you can catch the replay over at ElieSaab.com.

Wow wow wowwwww!
Love, that is all I have to say.
Stunningly fabulous!
Emma Stone or Jessica Chastain in the green dress – with the red hair…. you know it’s right.
truth
Totally agree.
Speaking of redheads, I would also picture Florence Welch in one of the green dresses, or the amazing gold gown (look 41: http://www.style.com/slideshows/2012/fashionshows/F2012RTW/ESAAB/RUNWAY/00410m.jpg)
Boring and plagia are the two words i have for this collection.
3 dresses look like a Givenchy rip off
1 ensemble looks like the givenchy ensemble Rooney Mara wore a couple of weeks ago
the rest of the collection looks like the same lines Saab has been drawing for the last 3 years. Where is novelty? he is not daring. Nice but unoriginal and boring
That shade of green is basically my favourite colour so right now I’m drooling over those looks…
Beautiful collection, as always. Besides the exquisite gowns, which of course are Mr. Saab’s trademark, I’m also loving the structural pieces.
I hope to see a lot of this collection on the red carpet (and I hope that who wears it will do justice to it).
Gorgeous, sophisticated, luxe…very nice collection.
Lebanon designers are just talented.zuhair murad, edward arsouni, abed mahfouz i hope you all get the credit you deserve someday
A lot of lovely looks although I do prefer his couture collections
the gren dress is great! EMMA STONE!
All looks are great, but that grey and black tweed skirt suit on Karlie Kloss is amazing!
