Elizabeth Olsen was in New York City last night to promote her latest movie, ‘Silent House’ at AMC Loews Lincoln Square.
The young actress wore a simple long sleeve black dress which she paired with a Balmain Spring 2012 jacket.
Her ivory jacket with gold embroidered details is the perfect example of making a look work for your style.
She didn’t try to give us Kate Moss just because she was wearing Balmain. She nonchalantly added the piece to her look along with a blue The Row clutch and black pumps with gold micro studs.
Flawless makeup made her baby blue eyes pop and she added a nude glossy lip colour to her look.

I love it! I love her!
Hair is gorgeous.
Not a fan of her style. she is wearing that jacket like it belonged to her great great aunt
Really lovely.
It may be Balmain….but it kindda look BLAH-man on her!
It’s a beautiful jacket and she looks fine but I feel like she’s dressing too mature, this can’t be what 20-something really looks like.
I think she looks great. I love how she makes everything her own. You can really tell that she’s not just some stylist’s puppet.
+1. I love her style
+1 (Haha, and look at all the “Emm” names commenting on this post
) I think she is very in command of her personal style, and even though this a different kind of look, she is owning it.
I agree. I never get the feeling she’s been dressed up by someone else like a doll. She has her own individual look and that always shines through.
She looks very nice. FC I think you’re missing a word in this sentence “the perfect example of making a look for your style”, “work” perhaps?
thankss…I’m exhausted.
I like it way better on the runway. It would be very interesting to see her wearing an outfit like this.
It’s like she is slipping into the Ashley & Mary Kate lagoon–too much black, clothes too big. it is a beautiful jacket, but not with a long black dress, and the look is too big for her. She’s young–she should dress like it. Dreadful clutch.
What does dressing “young” look like? I think she’s dressing for her personality and personal style.
The part of me that loves dressing like a middle-aged art teacher absolutely loves this. I mean that in the most complimentary way. I seriously love this.
+1
It’s not fair. She gets Row pieces for free. I love their work.
I really liek this look on her. I think she is still tryign to find her red carpet style, but this is a nice look, although I feel like someone twice her age wouldn’t look otu fo place in it.
I do love the clutch & the jacket though.
I dislike the dress under it, i, I would rather she have worn the original suit, but I love the Balmain coat!
i love it!
The look ages her.. the jacket is beautiful though
I like her make up and hair but the jacket and the black dress dont go well on her, ages her. This is a fab jacket,i perfer the run way style.
I love this look on her. I just wish she would carry a smaller clutch, maybe gold, because the colour and size of this one is rather distracting for me. But clutch aside, I think she looks amazing!
