Selena Gomez In Coach – 2018 Met Gala

Selena Gomez was also in attendance at the 2018 Met Gala, held on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

Donning a dainty, gossamer Coach ruffled lace gown, she channeled her inner bohemian angel.

And, if there was to be any doubt as to the thematic purpose of the look, she completed it with a cross necklace and luminous, glittery makeup.

Janelle Monae In Marc Jacobs – 2018 Met Gala

Black and white has been another theme of the 2018 Met Gala, held on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

But, there would be no traditional nunnery style with Janelle Monae’s look.

Although she’s lately injected a rainbow of hues to her repertoire, the entertainer has been favouring the monochromatic palette for some time. So this Marc Jacobs tailored look was right within her standard style wheelhouse.

It was only the golden halo hat and headdress underneath that offered religious undertones for the night.

Greta Gerwig In The Row – 2018 Met Gala

Greta Gerwig attended the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

Even with the oversized proportions of this voluminous ball gown by The Row, it wasn’t hard to see the nun-inspired connotations in the black-and-white robe silhouette.

However, to avoid getting too nun-like, she stuck with a subtle tiara instead of the traditional headdress.

Laura Dern In Proenza Schouler – 2018 Met Gala

Laura Dern was also at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

I’m afraid I couldn’t really get on board with this Proenza Schouler colour-blocked, black-and-white design.

It was a dress of such stark contrasts. And, as much as I appreciated the vintage Alexander Calder crown-like necklace by Stephen Russell, it seemed to be a wasted afterthought here to check the box on the theme.

Rings by Fred Leighton completed the look.

Michael Kors Collection @ 2018 Met Gala

The Michael Kors Collection was another popular label seen at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City, with these six lovelies wearing the designer.

Naomi Watts: While this gold tapestry, shoulder-cape gown was one of the simpler, thematic looks of the night, I still thought it was a plenty righteous if somewhat forgettable look for the night.

Liu Wen: Something about the model’s strapless gown was giving me more of an Asian-influenced than angelic-inspired mood. It could have been the red and gold floral combination.

SZA In Atelier Versace – 2018 Met Gala

SZA was a beauty in blush at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday night (May 7) in New York City.

The pastel pink hue of her Atelier Versace gown may not have been the most obvious colour to fit the theme, but it played into the ethereal mood of her ensemble.

There was much to take in between the dramatic tufts of tulle and decorated bodice and boots, but the crowning glory was the radiating headpiece. With its star design, it gave such a magical impression of movement.

Sasha Lane In Tory Burch – 2018 Met Gala

Sasha Lane floated onto the carpet at the 2018 Met Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

‘The Miseducation of Cameron Post’ actress was dressed in adherence to the theme with her custom Tory Burch look. With its diaphanous layers and lace trimmings, it was reminiscent of a baptism gown.

Her twisted and embellished locs wove together to create a striking sculptural hairstyle that will give Sarah Jessica Parker’s headpiece some competition for most captivating look.
