Runway To Pre-Grammy Party – Paris Hilton in Collette Dinnigan

Like Rihanna, Paris Hilton also attended the Verizon & BlackBerry Grammy Party at Boulevard 3 on Friday night.

The TV star sparkled as she walked the red carpet wearing a Collette Dinnigan Fall 2008 silver one-shouldered dress, with matching pumps, and a Chanel purse.

Her sister Nicky was her plus one for the night, and as usual was outshone by her older sister.

In Rihanna’s Closet – Preen Blue Dress

Rihanna attended the Verizon & BlackBerry Grammy Party at Boulevard 3 in LA on Friday wearing a gorgeous electric blue Preen dress.

For me Rihanna had lost a lot of her spark which inspired me to write about her every week last year, but this dress puts her back in my good books.

The blue body-con halter dress creates a strong silhouette, with a peplum at the waist, which gives it definition. The exposed zipper at the back completes this edgy look, along with her strappy heels.

You can purchase this Preen dress from BrownsFashion.com for £570/€652.47/$835.62.

Her blue, white and silver Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte Spring 2009 heels are very distinctive by the platform.

2008 Grammy Awards Best Dressed

Best Dressed Award
Fergie was amazing last night. This is truly the best I have ever seen her. She was glowing in her newly-engaged bliss, wearing a canary yellow Calvin Klein strapless gown with Cartier diamonds that completed the look.

Does anyone else think that her lady lumps appear to be slightly bigger?

Risk That Paid Off Award
Rihanna has been sporting a few looks that have not worked best in her favour, but this one did.

It is not an easy dress by Zac Posen to pull off with its feathers, ruffles and folds, but she worked it out.

I was not liking the neon nail polish though.

Most Improved Award
This weekend Natasha Bedingfield sported some hair and make-up disasters, but she pulled together for the Grammys, wearing this stunning lavender Reem Acra Spring 2008 strapless belted gown.

Best Floral Award
I loved this Zuhair Murad Spring 2008 gown. Carrie Underwood was bang on trend with the florals, but was slightly underwhelmed by her hair. Carrie has great hair, but on this occasion it fell a little flat in comparison to her hair at the Pre-Grammy’s Party.

Best Embellishments Award
Corinne Bailey Rae could not look more bored at this event, but I just loved her Luella Spring 2008 dress which was mostly made up of blue poppies.

Best Rock Chick Award
I LOVED Cyndi Lauper last night. She was full of energy and enthusiasm, unlike a lot of her contemporaries.

For 54 years young, this woman looked amazing. I am glad she is still as effervescent as ever.

Best Black Award
Faith Hill always looks amazing and elegant, and did not disappoint wearing a Valentino Spring 2008 one-shouldered gown.

Best Teen Award
Miley Cyrus is showing that she can look grown up and cute all at the same time wearing this white layered Celine Spring 2007 mini dress with Sergio Rossi sequined heels.

Best Over 50 Award
Yes Natalie Cole is over 50 and looks amazing in this printed dress.

Best On Stage Ensemble
Beyonce looked amazing rocking out in a very obviously lip-syned performance in this modified Armani Privé Fall 2007 Couture ensemble.

2008 Grammy Awards Worst Dressed

Worst Statement Dress Award
I know Kelis is promoting her husband’s album, but I do not approve of using this word for self promotion or use of this word in any context.

So trashy.

Worst Hair Award
Alicia Keys was not the worst dressed, in fact I loved the colour on her amazing custom-made Giorgio Armani Privé halter-neck gown.

What I did not like was the hair. She just ruined everything with the hair. Why a mohawk for such a pretty dress?

Worst Dressed Award
No I am not a Beyonce hater. This dress just did not work for me at all and I love Elie Saab.

The asymmetrical bodice and the dripping metallic detail was over-kill, without that this dress may have worked.

I am surprised that from all the dresses in Elie Saab Spring 2008 Couture collection that she choose this one.

I also did not like the hair. I know she was channeling Tina Turner, but I hated it.

Worst Black Award
Aren’t trains supposed to be on the back of dresses?

Fantasia dress was just too much for her. She tried to go Hollywood glam, when she should have stuck to her edgy roots and opted for something a little more funkier.

Worst Floral Award
Lil Mama should have saved her Chanel dress for this occasion.

Least Flattering Award
Unfortunately for Nelly Furtaro this cerulean strapless Arthur Mendonca gown made her look very wide at the hips.

Worst Pageant Fancy Dress/Bridesmaid Award
Urgh…just hideous. This dress that Taylor Swift wore was just to sickly sweet for me and the leaf-embellished skirt was too much.

Worst On Stage Outfit
Good girl gone bad for Rihanna in this Zac Posen Spring 2008 dress. She looks like the straw-man from the Wizard of Oz.

oOpS Award
Debbie Matenopolous announced to the world that the designer of Carrie Underwood’s dress was Badgley Mischka, which was incorrect. To make matters worst she then went onto say that she had seen the floral dress at their recent Fall 2008 New York Fashion Week show.

The fact of the matter was that the dress Carrie was wearing, was by the same designer – Zuhair Murad – that she was wearing. Once informed she desperately tried to make a retracting but the damage was already done. Zuhair Murad has dressed Debbie for other occasions, but I guess this will be her last.
