2009 Golden Globe Awards – Worst Dressed

Worst Dressed Award
Debra Messing disappoints me again in a very unflattering Vera Wang gown.

Worst Hair Award
Renee Zellweger walked the red carpet wearing a Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2009 gown, which was modified the runway.

I must admit I love the dress. It’s the poodle hair I just can’t get on board with.

Best Rachel Zoe Impersonation Award
Rachel Zoe cloned Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Mischa Barton. All starlets desperate for attention and fame.

So when I look at Cameron Diaz, I ask WFT happened? She used to have such an athletic body and now she had become a Zobot, with lollypop head, and over-tanned skin.

I am nothing but disturbed by this new look, which is only extenuated in her pink Chanel Fall 2008 Couture asymmetrical gown.

To make matters worst her hair is horrific. Going to the Globes you would have thought Cameron would have had her roots done.

I’m crying inside, crying I tell you.

No Class/Most Obnoxious On The Red Carpet Award
Miley Cyrus was by far the most annoying person to walk the red carpet last night. She was loud and rude. And the worst thing is her parents seemed to be encouraging her.

She was sticking her tongue out, giving the peace sign proving what I always thought. This girl has no class.

Her Marchesa Spring 2009 strapless gown with gold embroidery detail was beyond boring.

Worst Throw Back Award
JLo turned up last night instead of Jennifer Lopez.

Jennifer in this dress takes me back to the time when she was dating Puff Daddy, and wearing ghetto gold, embellished head bands and low cut dresses, like this gold Marchesa Spring 2009 gown.

Biggest Let Down Award
I know many of you will not agree, but I just hate those extra pieces of material on Eva Mendes’ white Dior gown. It does not seem to serve a purpose. It’s not a bow, it’s not a doing anything but just hanging there.

I love everything else, so it kills me to put her on this list.

Worst Couture Award
Freida Pinto made this Christian Lacroix Fall 2008 Couture gown look very ordinary. It looked so magical on the runway.

She completed her look with a Judith Leiber clutch.

Too Casual Award
I really love this Oscar de la Renta Spring 2009 look on Marisa Tomei, but for me it’s too casual for an event like this.

Worst Gold Award
Megan Fox moaned the whole way through her E! interview about how she looked like a tranny. Obviously fishing for compliments, to boost her already over inflated ego.

For me she really cheapens this Ralph Lauren Spring 2009 gown.

Most Boring Award
Penelope Cruz really seems to have lost her sparkle, even in this Armani Prive gown. There is nothing exciting, nor interesting for me to wow about.

Just Don’t Care Anymore Award
Yes it is an improvement on last year horror show, but I just don’t really care about Blake Lively anymore.

The actress wore a steel blue Nina Ricci gown, that a year ago would have got me excited.

Played It Too Safe Award
Yes Amy Adams always plays it safe, but instead of this Oscar de la Renta Spring 2009 gown, which is very typical of her style. It would be nice to see something unexpected, with more of a wow factor.

2008 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards – Best Dressed

Best Californian Girl Award
Cameron Diaz arrived on the orange carpet wearing a white shrug over her strapless Missoni Spring 2008 dress and Christian Louboutin Passmule Patent Sandals in white.

Best Dress/Shoes Combo Award
Even though I am not a fan of grey, I do like Ashlee Simpson’s Alexander McQueen strapless belted dress, mostly because she offset the dull grey with a bright orange pair of Christian Louboutin Passmule Patent Sandals.

I love her Chanel cuff bracelet.

Most Improved Award
From wearing a baby’s outfit with a dummy at the MTV Music Awards, to wearing this embellished Betsey Johnson Spring 2008 strapless hot pink, black trimmed taffeta and tulle dress, Lil Mama has come a long way.

Most Colourful/Best Smile Award
I just love the colourful design on Brenda Song’s dress.

Best Shoes Award
I was just about to put Jordin Sparks in the worst category for those red streaks in her hair when I spotted her Giuseppe Zanotti Architectural Wedge Sandal’s. I have been wanting these sandals forever, but can never find them in my size.

Do I need these sandal’s when I am already 5ft 11ins? No.

Do I still want them? Yes.

Would I be able to walk in them? Probably not.

Jordin is wearing a red strapless dress from Diane von Furstenberg.

Most Improved Posing Award
Miley Cyrus decided against her ‘Playboy bunny’ pouting, which she thought was a good look for the Oscars. She was wrong.

On this occasion she turned down the hooch and looked cute in this black embellished Stella McCartney Rhinestone paillette mini dress. She completed her look with a pair of red satin ABS peep toes.

Golden Girl Award
America Ferrera is glowing in this David Meister gold dress, matched with a gold clutch and gold wedges.

Best Dressed Under 15 Award
No hair extensions, no make-up, no nail varnish, no mini dresses. Abigail Breslin is age appropriate. Something that does not always apply to Miley Cyrus.

Best Pregnant Award
Jessica Alba green shimmering Corey Lynn Calter Spring 2008 gown, is stunning on her. With her pregnancy comes great style.

Best Mother/Son Combo Award
Nia Long always brings her little man to this event, and they always look so cute together.

Nia is wearing an open neck Marc by Marc Jacobs Night Blossom dress with taupe and white Sergi Rossi shoes.

Most Cute Award
Victoria Justice, isn’t she just adorable?

A mini Vanessa Hudgens in the making.

Oscars 2008 – Best Dressed

Best Dressed/Best Haute Couture Award
This ivory mermaid-like Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2008 Couture gown on Marion Cotillard was simply stunning.

I loved the a fishtail hem and the scale-esqe embroidery on the whole gown.

Marion won the Best Actress Award for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose.

Her speech was so wonderfully heart-warming, that it brought a small tear to my eye.

Best Red Award
Heidi Klum was better than amazing in this Dior by John Galliano custom-made couture gown.

The neckline and the back detail were all very chic.

She finished her look with Stuart Weitzman shoes and jewelry she designed from her own line.

Heidi’s red couture gown will be auctioned as part of The Heart Truth campaign to raise awareness about women and heart disease.

Best Detailed Dress/Best Earrings Award
There is so much detail on Penelope Cruz’ mermaid dress with the feathers and the gathering at the front, yet it does not make the dress too busy.

I adore her ruby and diamond Chopard earrings.

Best Invisible Make-up Award
I bet it only took Cameron Diaz no more than 20 minutes to get ready, and look how amazing she is.

She arrived at the Oscars in a pink Christian Dior by John Galliano bustier gown, Bulgari jewels, Roger Vivier clutch.

Best Strapless Award
I loved Kristin Chenoweth Armani Privé black silk tulle gown over a rose organza underlay.

It was the only dress that challenged Marion for Best Dressed. I loved the sweetheart neckline and the knotted and pleated tulle details.

Best Sequins Award
Regular readers will know I love a bit of bling, as it all adds to the glamour on the red carpet.

Renee Zellweger was the only one to provided head to toe bling in the form of this stunning strapless Carolina Herrera gown, which I at first thought had to be Elie Saab.

Most Improved From The 2007 Oscars Award
Anne Hathaway need this. She needed a stunning gown to erase the memory of that Valentino bow.

The saviours? Marchesa of course.

She completed her look with Harry Winston diamonds.

I love the with rosette detailing from the bust-line to her shoulder.

Best Strapless Award
Keri Russell’s champagne coloured Nina Ricci strapless dress came to life with an H.Stern vintage floral necklace.

Best Matching Dress/Lipstick Combo Award
Katherine Heigl was stunning in this Escada gown.

I loved the circular detail on her shoulder and nipped in waist.

Her look was very elegant, as she channeled old Hollywood.

Her jewels were from Ryan Ryan and her shoes and clutch were from Jimmy Choo.

Best Pregnant Award
Jessica Alba won the battle of the baby mama’s in this purple Marchesa Fall 2008 gown.

I love the feather detailing on the bust and the aubergine really suits her.

Jessica added some Cartier jewels to finish her look.

Best One-Shouldered Dress/Best Hair Award
There were many one-shoulder gown, but Hilary Swank in Versace Spring 2008 Couture was by far the best in terms of detail.

Her hair was amazing. Perfectly styled and I loved the tints.

Best Vintage Award
Calista Flockhart looked stunning in her 1970s vintage Valentino Haute Couture dress from Rare Vintage. The pale blue and grey colours were very pretty on her.

Best British Award
Were Tilda let us down Helen Mirren did us Brits proud in this custom-made Georges Chakra ruby gown.

Simple Yet Fabulous Award
Amy Ryan was simple and fabulous in this one-shoulder Calvin Klein gown.

Sexiest Couple Award
Johnny Depp in Giorgio Armani and Vanessa Paradis in Chanel Haute Couture with Chanel jewelry are so hot without event trying. Only Brad and Angelina could have upstage this hot couple.

Best Dressed Couple Award
I loved the way Diane Lane in David Meister and Josh Brolin were subtly dressed. They complimented each other well, without resorting to him wearing a tie to match her dress.

Best Necklace Award
Laura Linney was wearing a very simple midnight blue silk strapless bustle-back gown by Michael Kors.

Her stunning Cathy Waterman necklace brings the dress to life.

Laura’s bag and shoes were by Salvatore Feragamo.

Best Plus 1 Award
Keisha Whitaker always shines next to her husband.

The detail on this embellished strapless tulle gown is magnificent.
