Bee Shaffer In Valentino Couture & Anna Wintour In Chanel Couture – 2018 Met Gala

Not to be missed were Anna Wintour and daughter Bee Shaffer at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday night (May 7) in New York City.

Bee Shaffer: She was a breathtaking vision in Valentino Spring 2018 Couture. Between the designer’s signature colour and the oversized scalloped hem, it oozed romance. The asymmetrical neckline ruffle tied in a draping bow added more magic. Not forgetting about the theme, the colour and clutch nodded to it.

Anna Wintour: As co-host, the editor was sure to embrace the theme in a diaphanous Chanel Spring 2018 Couture dress. Some might be surprised to see she opted for a modified style rather than a totally custom piece. The dress already had the feel of the theme but she further enhanced it with the addition of the short sleeves, by extending the skirt and finishing with the rosary. It was graceful and elegant.

Kristin Scott Thomas In Erdem – 2018 Met Gala

Kristin Scott Thomas was one of the numerous people in attendance at the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination Costume Institute Gala on Monday evening (May 7) in New York City.

The actress was a beauty in baby blue, donning a bespoke Erdem moire silk gown as she walked the red carpet with the designer. The dress exuded such a regal elegance with the watteau train and English hand embroidery.

The sophisticated refinement is very much in her wheelhouse, but it was a refreshing change to see her in a lighter colour. It suited the night’s M.O. and was a deviation from her preferred dark colour palette.

Mary J Blige In Atelier Versace – 2018 Met Gala

Mary J Blige showed up at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday evening (May 7) in New York City.

This custom Atelier Versace outfit with L’Dezen by Payal Shah diamond earrings is very much in her wheelhouse and is in keeping with the theme thanks to the colour palette.

It’s sensual, edgy and has a goddess effect. Like a lot of her looks, it also has fantastic dynamism from the curling lines of the embellishment on the bodice and boots.

Pharrell Williams & Helen Lasichanh In Chanel – 2018 Met Gala

Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh were quite the stylish twosome at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday evening (May 7) in New York City.

Helen Lasichanh: She went to the archives, selecting a Chanel Pre-Fall 2013 ensemble. With its snowy white colour and soft silhouette, it did adhere to the theme. The layered rosaries and her two-tone hair showcased her stylish credentials and tied in her husband’s look.

Pharrell Williams: The producer isn’t one to just wear a traditional suit and this Chanel Pre-Fall 2018 look has the right amount of unique details to set itself apart. The crisp lines also served as a great frame for his accessories.
