Anna Dello Russo In Anthony Vaccarello – Front Row @ Dries van Noten

Anna Dello Russo In Anthony Vaccarello - Front Row @ Dries van Noten

Anna Dello Russo was spotted headed to the Dries van Noten Spring 2014 show during Paris Fashion Week yesterday afternoon.

The fashion-editor-at-large has never been shy with her street-style choices and I have championed most of them, but I have to say this look did make me raise my eyebrows.

Anna wore a should-only-be-worn-after-dark Anthony Vaccarello Fall 2013 one-sleeve dress featuring silver grommets going down one side, revealing her pants (thank God she was wearing panties).

Never one to water down a runway look, I wish the grommet panel had a nude lining.

Sexy Tom Ford sandals and a gold Bottega Veneta clutch completed her look.

Do you love Anna for continuing to be so bold, or do you draw the line at revealing panties at a 3pm show?

She definitely should have had the grommet panel lined. This is tacky, no matter the hour of the day.

At first I thought hot pants would’ve given the effect she wanted without the trashy element. However, now I really think only nude lining could’ve saved this look. Too bad because this could’ve been one of her best looks to date.

    No girl

I much prefer the version of this dress that Gisele wore to the Met Ball this year.

    • Chanel September 26, 2013 at 23:33 #

Not only was it better, but it was more appropriate for time/place. Gisele wins.

I might be wrong but Anja Rubik wore recently the same dress (different lenght) and her image is burnt into my memory so ADR looks pale in comparason (plus it’s sooo to be worn after-the-sunset dress)

here’s the link to Anja’s look

    • KatieKate September 27, 2013 at 03:44 #

Yes, Anja looks maje. Who can compete?

The more I look at this, the more I love the panties. And it’s down to them matching the colour of the dress: I think it creates a nice touch (I think it actually looks better than it had she gone without or if it was lined), especially with the shoe selection!

Definitely one of the week’s most memorable looks!

Is there a right time to let one’s underwear get all the attention?

    • EmmaWoodhouse September 26, 2013 at 22:50 #

+1 I never approve of showing one’s underwear, at any time or any place in public. This look is quite horrendously trashy and attention-seeking, and I am frankly never a fan of her style.

  9. Moxie September 26, 2013 at 19:01 #

At her age its tacky and looks like desperate attention seeking.

Dare I say I actually like this look, sans the panties? She definitely should have done without or lined it, but she really works this (coming from a usual non-fan of her style). On another note, I’d love to have seen this on Selena Gomez in contrast.

Minus the panties, I like this look from an artistic point of view. Not sure what occasion it would be appropriate for though.

  12. H September 26, 2013 at 17:17 #

    Sexy, awesome!

  13. dee September 26, 2013 at 16:54 #

too much showing on the side making this look trashy.

    • Dean September 27, 2013 at 03:18 #

ITA! Looks a bit like a hooker, especially at 3pm.

  14. kathryn September 26, 2013 at 16:35 #

I love the look in theory, but showing your panties is never a good idea especially if you are middle aged and it’s the middle of the day. She definitely should have added a nude lining

    I still love you ADR!.

  15. Marilyn Bryan September 26, 2013 at 16:21 #

Not crazy about her style, many of her choices shout “trying too hard”, this would probably work on Rihanna or Miley Cyrus

  16. Lyo September 26, 2013 at 16:12 #

This is kinda tacky… age unapproprieted… just overall sad.

Agreed. This look ages her – I wish she looked in the mirror before stepping out in this get up. Does she not have anyone who would give her an honest oopinion?

  17. LeeAnn September 26, 2013 at 16:11 #

Body wise she can wear it BUT I don’t think she should-she is starting to look desperate. Dries is about strong woman with glamour. He is not about women who scream “Look at me, look at me!

  18. Rebecca Z September 26, 2013 at 16:00 #

I pretty much always find her to be dreadful, and I am not a fan of the up the side nudity on anyone, but if the grommet side were lined I would love this–even on her. The dress shows her athletic build and the shoes are spectacular.

  19. Lola September 26, 2013 at 15:59 #

Such desperate attentionseeking makes you look ridiculous whatever you wear. Her “style” ages her.

  20. Ali September 26, 2013 at 15:51 #

Not a fan of this one.

  21. Dorian Gray September 26, 2013 at 15:50 #

I love her style no matter what.

    • KatieKate September 27, 2013 at 03:41 #

      +1. Just can’t help it.

  22. Charlotte September 26, 2013 at 15:34 #

I would have love this look if the grommet panel had a nude lining !

    • SleeplessinChicago September 27, 2013 at 14:40 #

A nude lining, please! The underwear line ruins the already border line tacky look for me. Ouch!
