Red Carpet Trend: Slick Suits, Slicker Hair

In the 1920’s mens hair was super simple. Hair was slicked back with gel for a formal look that was thought to be both masculine and also elegant.

Usually when we see a celeb work a suit on the red carpet, they opt for feminine tresses, but when supermodel Karolina Kurkova wore a Roberto Cavalli suit last week with slicked-back locks she revitalized the menswear trend, taking it to a whole new level.

Young Emma Roberts appeared to have been inspired by this look when she donned this Nanette Lepore suit, as was Julianne Hough.

The actress/dancer also slicked back her short blonde tresses when she wore this black Chloe suit earlier this week.

Do you prefer this edgier approach to menswear-inspired dressing, or do you prefer a softer, more feminine approach?
