Carey Mulligan In Bottega Veneta – 15th Annual Hollywood Film Awards Gala

Carey Mulligan opted for a head-to-toe black look on the red carpet for the 15th Annual Hollywood Film Awards Gala last night where she picked up the ‘Supporting Actress’ award for ‘Shame’.

The British actress had been M.I.A. on the red carpet for a while, but she made a welcome return giving us a second look from the Bottega Veneta Spring 2012 collection on the red carpet.

Her embellished halter dress was paired with simple black satin Ferragamo peep-toes and a Bottega Veneta waxy studded intrecciato leather box clutch.

What I love most about this look is Carey’s hair and makeup.

As we know, she tends not to pay too much attention to this department, but her smoky eyes, nude lips and blonde quiff provide the perfect finishing touches and prevent this look from feeling too one-note.

She looks stunning, I know the dress is her usual length and style but the fact that she’s put effort into her hair and make up and looks more confident really elevates this look. Shoes could be better and I wish she’d worn some edgy earrings or a cuff or a ring but I love this all the same.

Please include this in the BDOTW poll! She looks fantastic!

Really like this, everything works so well together here including the simple peep-toes that let the embellished dress do all the talking. Gorgeous hair and make-up.

i like the dress, the shoes are meh, but i don’t like her lip colour. She looks washed out to me.

I don’t really care for the dress (there’s nothing memorable here), but it’s not really problematic because I can’t take my eyes off her smile.
    She’s to die for gorgeous!

It’s been awhile since I’ve liked Carey on the RC. Maybe in a different week, BDOTW-worthy. But not this week.

FC, you are on fire, there are new posts every couple of minutes — I can barely keep up! This is fun, thank you. Although how you are going to winnow down the BDOTW list is completely beyond me. It’s only Tuesday for heavens sake.

Love BV clutches, hate the belt and hate the shoes!

I don’t usually like all black but I like that this dress has different textures do it and isn’t just one-tone and it’s just really pretty! Her makeup and hair are perfect!!!!!

I don’t really like black shoes in general but I hate black peep toes and I don’t have a good reason…
