Son Ye Jin In Prada – “My Black Mini Dress” Premiere

Son Ye Jin attended the VIP premiere of ‘My Black Mini Dress’ this week.

The actress wore a banana print mini skirt from the Spring 2011 collection.

Like Teresa Palmer yesterday, Son Ye Jin lets her skirt down with some questionable styling.

Actually in this case the Prada skirt it the odd one out, because the rest of her look which includes a grey cardigan, blue shirt, beige hat, a Prada crocodile box bag and Oxford pumps work together.

The skirt throws this look off as it feels so out of place.

You might want to take inspiration from Wonderland’s fashion editor Julia Sarr-Jamois. She was papped outside Jil Sander’s Fall 2011 presentation during Milan Fashion Week wearing the yellow Prada banana skirt.

She added a cropped fur jacket, a colourful tote and black ankle boots.

Outside Fendi’s Fall 2011 presentation during Milan Fashion Week L’Uomo Vogue’s Fashion Editor, Giovanna Battaglia wore a green version of the Prada banana skirt.

She accessorized with purple and gold Fendi accessories and a black jacket.

I was tempted to buy this skirt, but now so many people have it I’m glad I opted for the skirt version of the dress Eva Mendes wore last year.

I bought the skirt too but being slightly older I bought the lure version from the Shanghai collection with the green bananas and without the frill. I did buy a few things from this collection it was just so much fun

Ethne Blist Stylist Mode On: Son Ye Jin remove the black cardi thing, the tights and the satchel and wear nude patent espadrilles. Fresher.

The only one that I like here is Giovanna ’cause her look is well-balanced. The other two are just a hot mess

They all look nice more/less comparing to the guy (??)on the runway.

same doubt here… is that a man??

      • fashionbegginer March 17, 2011 at 18:14 #

No, it’s a girl, Diana Dondoe. I just found that out on Google it and you’ll see it 🙂
She does look like a man here, though. I didn’t like the hair and make-up on this show at all. It made all the girls look kind of ugly.

          Thanks, fashionbeginner.
But this is astonishing (except for the legs) the face, the broad shoulders, even the arms, not to mention the Adam’s apple!

Julia is overly styled. It’s just too much going on with that look.
Giovanna made the skirt the centerpoint even with the matchy-matchy shoes and bag.
I think that if Son had worn a black top instead of the blue and took off the hat, the outfit would work better. I like the black bag with the heeled loafers.

Ohh FC your new skirt sounds fantastic!

  9. Rebecca March 17, 2011 at 12:16 #

Good choice, FC, but I agree, those bananas are tempting. Love Giovanna’s take on the look–those are fabulous shoes

It would be awesome if you would so a post about what you have in your closet & your style.

I think Giovanna works it the best (though I am bias- I’m a little in love with her!)- I like the way she toned it down with a black base, but added the equally punchy (but still in the same colour family) shoes and bag

Lucky you for getting that Prada skirt FC- what a collection to have a piece from!

    • Fashion Critic March 17, 2011 at 12:27 #

I buy myself one designer piece each season. Usually I get a bag, but this time I had to get the Prada skirt

      • Vera March 17, 2011 at 12:35 #

        I request a pic!

        • Linda March 17, 2011 at 15:25 #

          For sure, me too!

        • Hannah March 17, 2011 at 17:51 #

Me too. Great choice FC, it’s a gorgeous dress!
