Who Wore Lanvin For H&M Better? Maggie Cheung, Carina Lau, Natalie Portman and Janice Man

Posted by Catherine Kallon

The Lanvin for H&M collection has been hugely popular and this is best represented by these 4 celebrities who loved the collection as much as we did.

I know many of you have accused celebs of being greedy by wearing this collection designed for us mere mortals who can’t afford the mainline collection, but I appreciate the tips on how to possibly style this dress.

Maggie Cheung was the first to wear this Lanvin for H&M eggplant one-shoulder gazar dress with black elastic waistband when she attended a Hong Kong Audi press conference.

She paired her dress with Lanvin for H&M leather gloves, black kitten heels and a poodle perm.

Carina Lau wore the same dress to the Cartier Flagship Store Opening in Hong Kong last month.

The well-dressed actress showed off a new hair cut at this event, as she teamed her pink Lanvin for H&M dress with Roger Vivier pumps and a silver clutch.

Natalie Portman looked sultry in her eggplant Lanvin for H&M dress when she attended the IFP’s 20th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York City on Monday.

I really liked her Dior jeweled clutch and hot red lips.

Finally yesterday, Janice Man wore the pretty pink version to the launch of a cosmetic brand in Hong Kong.

As beautiful as she looks she lets herself down with horrible suede black pumps and thick black tights.

Maggie also let herself down by over accessorizing this dress with the necklace and the gloves.

I wasn’t initially crazy about Carina’s Roger Vivier heels, but I prefer them over Natalie’s black pumps so Carina wins this for me.

Natalie Portman, the cutest one and classiest one. Even M. Cheung caught my attention but I hate asymmetrical dresses with necklace.

I think the model wore it best…

I am going against the tide. I voted for Maggie for the simple fact that I love her hair. It’s like an Asian afro.

It’s easy to narrow it down to Maggie and Carina, but that’s where it stops.
I quite adore both of them.

I bought this dress too but returned it. I just knew I would never wear it and wanted it to go to a better home 🙂 I’m so intrigued every time I see the photo of Natalie Portman in it though as I’m 5’2″ and it was way shorter on me. She must be tiny!

I love Maggie’s look – its so fierce. I think I want some of those leather driving gloves!!!

Have to say, I don’t feel any of them did this dress justice. Come on, FC, show us how it’s done!! 😉

lol…I’m still unsure what shoes to wear with it myself.

      • RG December 3, 2010 at 3:20 pm #

Yeah. I really think that you as the FASHION CRITIC had just committed a MAJOR FASHION FAUX-PAS by not including yourself on the choices since you yourself owns the one that Natalie Portman wore. Gawd, how can you do such a thing!!! But since you said that you are still unsure what shoes to wear with it yourself, how about you post pictures of yourself wearing that Lanvin for H&M dress with different shoe options and then we will vote. C’mon FC give us something more exciting to vote for! At least before Christmas. Just like what Gretta said, it’s about time you show us how it’s done!!! 🙂 C’mon, you wouldn’t need that much courage to do it compared to approaching Anna Wintour. 😀

          LOL…i haven’t worn it yet. 😀

I’m saving it for New Year parties xxx

Hopefully I wont arrive with 5 other girls wearing the same dress. 🙂

Love all these HK celebs getting featured on your site. I am also a HK girl and I’m feeling lots of HK pride right now although I do think Natalie Portman wore it best!
