Runway to Red Carpet - Lucy Liu in Bill Blass

The red carpet did not set my world on fire this weekend, so thank god for Lucy Liu who injected some much needed glamour at the Kung Fu Panda Japan premiere today.

The petite actress is wearing an ivory Bill Blass Fall 2008 dress with ruffles cascading down the collar and the front of the dress.

My only bug-bear is the Zac Posen black belt. I understand that without the belt Lucy may have got lost in the large ruffles, so the belt gives her a nice shape, but I loved the belt-less dress on the runway.

I adore her champagne strappy Jimmy Choo sandals.

Runway To Red Carpet - Venus Williams In Ralph Lauren

Wimbledon Champion Venus Williams was one of the guests of honour at the Champions Dinner on Sunday night, after beating her sister Serena 7-5, 6-4 on Saturday to claim a 5th Wimbledon title.

The Champion wore a stunning purple taffeta gown, under her Ralph Lauren Spring 2008 purple striped blazer, as she posed with her Venus Rosewater trophy.

It was great to see her hair down, after it has been pinned back under a sweaty visor for the past 2 weeks.

Runway To Buckingham Palace - Kylie Minogue In YSL

Despite Kylie Minogue being from Australia, us Brits have very much adopted her as a native.

Having grown up seeing Kylie in Aussie soap Neighbours, singing cheesy pop songs on Top of The Pops, to becoming a credible pop artist and style icon, I feel very proud to see her received an OBE from Prince Charles today at Buckingham Palace.

When the former Neighbours star found out last December she would be made an OBE for services to music, she said: "I feel deeply touched to be acknowledged by the UK, my adopted home, in this way."

Kylie wore gold strappy sandals with white YSL dress from the Spring 2008 collection which is adorned with multi-coloured sequined stars.

I could not wait for Style.com uploaded the runway pictures of Christian Dior's Fall 2008 Haute Couture show, I had to bright you this tangy sorbet delight right now.

There were many celebrities front row at Christian Dior's Fall 2008 Haute Couture show this afternoon, but NONE of them looked better than Eva Mendes.

The actress looked divine in her orange and pink embellished dress, which clearly made her stand out amongst the grey and black that all the other celebrities decided to wear to this couture show.

It's only Monday, and I already have a contender for Best Dressed Of The Week.

Supermodel Claudia Schiffer looked amazing in her many outings last week, but this grey Dior dress disappoints, when you have Eva hitting it out of the fashion ball park.

I feel hot just looking at Liv Tyler in wearing this black belted Christian Dior Fall 2008 fitted dress.

The actress completed her black ensemble, with a pair of black Givenchy Spring 2008 open-toe booties.



Janet Jackson looks good, but I wish she opted for some colour.

Runway To Red Carpet - Lucy Liu In Giambattista Valli

With Angelina Jolie heavily pregnant, and not able to attend the Kung Fu Panda London premiere this evening, the talking points and the glamour had to be provided by Lucy Liu.

Did she disappoint?

Hell no. I LOVE, Love, love her modified version of this Giambattista Valli Fall 2008 gown. I would not have loved her so much had she worn the runway version, as the petite star would have been lost in it.

I love the flower accents, the sculptured hips, her minimal make-up and her Roger Vivier clutch with jeweled details.

Runway To Red Carpet - Sigourney Weaver In Prada

Actress Sigourney Weaver wore an orange shirt with her Prada Spring 2008 orange and blue check silk pants to Disney's Wall-E premiere last night in LA.

I am torn on how I feel about this because the pants look better on her than on the runway because of the orange shirt, but then the orange shirt is way too bright, but then it needs to be in order to work with the pants.

I am also feeling that Diane Lane would not wear these pants, and I see these women as being a bit similar.

The poster girl for the House of Dior, has impeccable style, and it's not just exclusive to the red carpet

A perfect example of this is whilst leaving her hotel to go to dinner in Paris. The actress was spotted wearing modified Dior dress, which she teamed with a pair of Givenchy Shoes Strappy Open Toe Ankle Bootie, which are still available to purchase from Shopbop - sadly not in my size.


Also in Berlin while doing her press junkets, the star wore a grey and red printed Gucci Fall 2008 dress with a gold studded pair of open-toe boots from the same collection.

Can't wait to see what she wears for the US premiere.

She is on a roll.

Charlize Theron arrived at the Moscow premiere of Hancock this evening wearing a stunning red floral Giambattista Valli Fall 2008 sexy sheath dress.

The stunning dress has a rosette detail snaking from her shoulder to bodice.

The South African seems to have a love for designs from French fashion houses. Don't we all.

I am glad she wore her hair back in this dress, and kept the neck bare.

Charlize and her co-star Will Smith, continue to show their bond on the red carpet, which can be seen in the pictures below.


For those keeping score, you would have noted that this dress has already been worn by Sarah Jessica Parker for her Marie Claire US July 2008 cover and Victoria Beckham has also worn the dress on a yet undisclosed shoot.

The beautiful and undeniably chic Charlize Theron arrived at the Hancock Berlin premiere NOT wearing a dress by Christian Dior.

You could have knocked me down with a feather, such was the shock.

The usually Dior wearing actress instead opted for this haltered pouffy dress from the Christian Lacroix Fall 2008. She teamed her dress with black booties which had a silver 'D', which I will guess stands for Dior.

Whether it is Dior or Lacroix, Charlize looks stunning.

Runway To Red Carpet - The International Indian Film Academy Awards

The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2008 took place in Bangkok this weekend.

The IIFA weekend was three day long Bollywood extravaganza which started on Friday. The red carpets included fashions reflecting the trends and styles that rule the Indian Film Industry, plus a few dresses we have seen on the European runways.

Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan wore a variety of dresses during the weekend, most notably this red strapless Christian Dior gown.

The stunning Bollywood actress, who was accompanied to the event with her husband, wore her dress with a gown box clutch.


Actress Raima Sen also opted for a designer who showed his collection in Europe for one of her red carpet moments.

She wore a stunning modified Elie Saab Spring 2008 Couture ivory gown with silver embellishments.
