Jessica Biel For Harper's Bazaar US August 2008

Jessica Biel appears in the August 2008 US edition of Harper's Bazaar after keeping a very low profile this year.

In a unique editorial Jessica hits the dance floor with five of fashion's favorite designers which was shot by and Peter Lindbergh.

You can read the whole interview here, but here are some extracts.

On marriage: "I’ve never been someone who’s like, ‘I have to, have to, have to have it.’ But the idea of being with somebody I care about, who’s my soul mate, that sounds groovy."

On having children: "I think when you make a decision to have a family and children, everything else comes second. But if I choose to have a family, I would hope to create a balance, because I don’t want to lose my sense of identity, my career, and my independence."

On the food in Columbia, S.C. (where she’s filming her new movie Nailed): "I love the food. I really have to hold myself back because if I had my choice, I would eat fried green tomatoes and goat cheese all day, every day."

Naomi Campbell For i-D August 2008

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Naomi Campbell is on fire at the moment, and for once it is friendly fire.

The supermodel has been steaming up the covers of Vogue Italia, and now i-D and V Magazine.

This powerful image of a naked Naomi dominating YSL designer Stefano Pilati with her 26in weave was shot by Inez & Vinoodh.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

What I would not give to have a kick ass toned body like hers.

For V Magazine, this image shot on the streets of Manhattan by Mario Sorrenti.

A wavy haired Naomi, is wearing a coat by Viktor & Rolf from their Fall 2008 collection, which reads "Dream On".

I would love to see someone wearing that down 5th Avenue.

Naomi seems to be on top of her game at the moment, with her ad campaigns, editorials and covers. I hope she keeps it up so we can focus on her work, rather than her diva temper tantrums.

Runway To Photo Shoot - Charlize Theron For Elle UK August 2008

Hancock actress Charlize Theron graces the cover of Elle UK August 2008.

The actress has been busy promoting her new hit movie Hancock, arriving to premieres in an array of stunning red carpet dresses, that have been blowing us away.

In her interview she talks about marriage, babies, her body and why she won't ever become just another Hollywood party girl.

Here's some excerpts from her very frank interview:

On her never marry her boyfriend Stuart Townsend: "I want to know that I wake up every morning with him because I want to, not because a piece of paper says so."

On the ring she wears on her wedding finger and the possibility of babies: "I wear it all the time...it signifies my commitment to him... I'd be delighted if I found out I was pregnant tomorrow. I know I'm going to be a mother.. and Stuart will be our baby's father."

On feeling too thin: "I played a woman with cancer in Sweet November. I went down to a size 6 and I felt completely uncomfortable. I remember being cold and wrapping my arms around my body and feeling ribs and bone. I felt totally unsexy."

On way she doesn't party hard after a day's filming: "I don't buy into all that. Actually, it upsets me the way a lot of so-called celebrities just completely exploit themselves. I don't get it."

On focusing on her own happiness: "There's a decorum that I believe just doesn't exist in Hollywood any more. My whole life is about trying to move away from bad things and be happy."

Here is the rest of her editorial, plus a behind the scenes video:

Runway To Photo Shoot - Anne Hathaway In InStyle US July 2008

Get Smart actress Anne Hathaway graces the cover of InStyle US July 2008.

With her hair flowing and her gorgeous smile, Anne is wearing a purple Versace Pre-Fall 2008 dress with Fred Leighton jewelry.

Here are some extracts from her interview:

On her “conservative” style of dress: "I’ve always been on the conservative side when it comes to showing skin. I’m from the school where you show one part of your body, not all of it. So compared to the girls you’re talking about, I’m quite prim. One of my favorite things to wear on a night out is a short turtleneck minidress. Everything up top is covered…and then it’s just all about your legs."

On using Justin Timberlake’s girlfriend to prepare for her role of Agent 99 in “Get Smart”: "I started working out about three months before the film began. I wanted to be curvy and muscle-y. I took my body inspiration from Jessica Biel. I didn’t quite get those results, but she’s great."

On what fits her body best: "Clothes that nip at the waist suit me best. My body is more fifties era, more busty with booty. Anything too unstructured doesn’t work."

The issue was shot by Steven Meisel, in what is being seen as a ground-breaking issue.

Hopefully this will set the ball in motion for us to see more women of colour in magazines.

Other models in the issue include Iman, Alek Wek, Pat Cleveland, Chanel Iman, Veronica Webb, Tyra Banks, and Karen Alexander.

You can read an interview with Franca Sozzani, Editor-in-Chief Vogue Italia regarding this iconic issue here.

Runway To Red Carpet - Charlize Theron In Balenciaga

I have a new girl crush.

Yes I am fickle, and my favoured star changes each time a star steps their Louboutin's on the red carpet, but you can not deny that Charlize Theron looks absolutely stunning here.

The actress was on the red carpet tonight to attend the Hancock London premiere.

Again she is surprisingly not in Dior, but she was wearing another dress from a French fashion house.

Last night it was Christian Lacroix, tonight Balenciaga.

Of course the dress is amazing, but for me it all about how she wears it, with such style, confidence and grace. She is totally owning this dress.

I think she might be a dead cert for Best Dressed Of The Week.

The shoot was a mis-mash of different types of shots from family pictures - Kate Moss's dad and little sister, to Kate and Georgina posing in elegant dresses to total nudity.

You can check out the whole 44 page editorial here. There are some artful naked pictures, so don't say I did not warn you if you are at school or work.

Runway To Photo Shoot - Pixie Geldof Tatler UK July 2008

"Model" Pixie Geldof, daughter of Sir Bob Geldof appears on the cover of Tatler UK July 2008 wearing a Miu Miu Spring 2008 mini dress.

The school girl has been scouted by Select model agency to front a few campaigns next year, which campaigns are yet to be disclosed.

Pixie - yes that is her real name - is already a regular in nightclubs along with her 19-year-old sister Peaches. Described as 'unstoppable and high voltage', the pair have been nicknamed the Boomtown Brats because of their behaviour.

I would not say she is model material, but this is a very cute cover.

Angelina Jolie On The Cover Of Vanity Fair July 2008

Soon-to-be mother of twins Angelina Jolie, graces the over of Vanity Fair July 2008 looking as beautiful as ever, with her hair beautifully teased, and her assets on display in this plunge-neck dress.

Angelina is looking very svelte in her editorial, as the photos were taken back in January, before she started to show.

Here are some extracts from her interview.

On why they named their daughter Shiloh: "It’s a biblical name,” she told me, “but we didn’t name her for that. It was a name my parents almost named their first child—there was a miscarriage: Shiloh Baptist. Because my father had been shooting in Georgia and that was the most southern name [my parents] could come up with. It’s a name I always liked. I used to go under it in hotels: Shiloh Baptist. I’d gone under it when [Brad] called hotel rooms where I was staying."

On how she plans on raising her kids religion-wise: "[My mother] was Catholic but also a child of the 60s. She stopped going to confession at one point because she was having sex before marriage. To me, she represented what religion should be. She never preached. If things didn’t make sense to her, she never just accepted it. I had Communion, but she never forced me to go to church. Brad got me this great thing for Christmas. It’s a bookshelf that has a book on every religion. That’s how we plan to raise our kids. Teach them about all religions. They can pick one or be a student of all of them. We’ll celebrate Kwanzaa for our girl. We’ll celebrate moon and water festivals for our boys. We’ll take them to temples in certain countries. Also to church."

On Brad Pitt coming into her life unexpectedly: "After my last divorce, I said I was absolutely going to marry somebody in another field, an aid worker or something. Then I met Brad, everything I wasn’t looking for, but the best man, the best father I could possibly wish for, you know? I don’t see him as an actor. I see him very much as a dad, as somebody who loves travel and architecture more than being in movies."

On her mother's passing: "When [my mother] passed, I realized that somebody who lives life with that kind of dedication to their family is the most noble. I was aware of it growing up. I admired her. And I loved her. But in her passing she reminded me what matters. And what’s most fun—to put yourself aside for these other little people you’re raising."

Runway To Photo Shoot - Gwyneth Paltrow In Harper's Bazaar US July 2008

Iron Man actress Gwyneth Paltrow, graces the July 2008 US edition of Harper’s Bazaar.

The star is wearing a pink Versace Fall 2008 one-shouldered gown in pink, a colour which really suits her English rose complexion. (A figure of speech, I know she is American).

The magazine is out on June 17, but here are some extracts from her interview.

On cutting her hair: "I was very, very attached to my hair. I grew it when I was pregnant. I still had hair from when my father was alive. I made it like a talisman. And then I was ready to let go of it, and so I chopped it off and ... aaah!"

On how her pregnancy differed from her mother's: "I may force myself to do it one more time because the result is so worth it. And also my dad said to me that his only regret in life was that he had only two children and he didn’t have more… My mother loved each [pregnancy] to bits; she felt alive and beautiful. I wanted to throw up all the time."

On being very open to adoption: "I do feel we’re so fortunate, and we kind of owe it to humanity. We have a lot of love to give and a lot of resources."

On her support for Barack Obama: "I don’t feel there's any lip service with [Obama]. I don’t feel like he’s one of those jaded politicos who say one thing and are talking out of both sides of their mouth. I also feel we’ve done such damage to our reputation – and as someone who lives outside America for half the year, I overhear things that I wish I didn’t overhear. A lot of people in the West think that we’re not very sensitive to the rest of the world, and I think that having a president called Barack Hussein Obama in 2008 says that we are part of the world, and we don’t want to make unilateral decisions about the fate of all of us. I just pray to God that he wins."

Kate Bosworth On The Cover Of Harper's Bazaar Australia July 2008

21 actress Kate Bosworth appears on the cover of the July 2008 issue of Harper's Bazaar Australia wearing a buff colour lace dress from Prada Fall 2008 collection.

In her editorial she talks about preserving her childhood, how she stays grounded and her boyfriend James Rosseau.

On her career during high school: "I didn't want to be the 'child actress.' Some strange little part of me knew I had to go through those challenging teenage years and not be interrupted by Hollywood. I shot a few things over summer holidays like [TV series] Young Americans and Remember the Titans, but I wanted to take the time to study."

On how she stays grounded: "Once you go through the experience of being dragged through the mud, you don't ever give a sh*t ever again. Being a public figure there's always this fear. 'Do they like me?' It's a high school thing. My tips are: 1. Don't read anything [written about you] — it's all full of sh*t. 2. Have good people around you. 3. Laugh."

On helping boyfriend James discover his musical talent: "He has always played and written music — it's the poet in him. I would always hear him strumming and say, 'James, you have to give this a go.' Being in a creative field, I understand how nerve-wracking it is to put yourself out there. My best friend's husband is a music producer and has a studio here. He's Dutch, James is British. I knew they'd smoke a lot of cigarettes, drink red wine, and have a blast recording the album."

Runway To Photo Shoot - Gossip Girl In People Magazine

The cast of Gossip Girl - (clockwise from bottom) - Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, Jessica Szohr, Taylor Momsen, Penn Badgley and Leighton Meester, were recently included in People Magazine's "Most Beautiful People"list.

I could not agree more.

Each girl got to wear a stunning dress for the People shoot.

Blake Lively wore a beautiful Zuhair Murad Spring 2008 nude one-shouldered gown with sequin detail and Chanel shoes.

Jessica Szohr wore a black satin Moschino dress, which did not appear on the runway.

Taylor Momsen wore a Marchesa Spring 2008 white one-shoulder gown with black lace and black satin accents.

Leighton Meester wore a stripey Ralph Lauren Spring 2008 strapless gown.

The boys looked as hot as the girls. They are wearing a collection of Hugo Boss, Burberry Prorsum, D&G and Giorgio Armani.

In the magazine they were each asked to name the best feature of their fellow cast-mates.

Chase Crawford

Runway To Photo Shoot - Jessica Simpson Glamour US June 2008

I must say I am a bit surprised to see Jessica Simpson on the front cover of any fashion magazine at the moment, as she is usually featured more in the tabloids, but I do love this Fendi Spring 2008 canary yellow dress she is wearing.

Here are some extracts from her interview.

On reading the tabloids:
"I'm not going to lie and say that I don't want to see Tony and me in the pictures. It is good airplane reading if you throw it away when you get off; I'm good at that. I am not the type of person who believes everything she reads, but I like to look at photos and see what people are wearing. That's interesting to me."

On the first time she saw Tony: "The cute story is that my family and I were watching a Cowboys game. I was going through my divorce and--Tony would die if I told you this--but [on television there was a story] about him. They said his celebrity dream crush was Jessica Simpson."

On how Tony makes her feel: "He's a motivational speaker. Because he's a quarterback, a leader. He keeps his team focused. What he's done for me is irreplaceable. I wrote a song for him called "Back in My Old Boots." I feel like I'm walking back in my old boots. Jessica Simpson didn't lose herself along the way. He reintroduced me to myself. I thought that I had to be deeper, more profound and more artsy. You change with the guys you date. [I thought] I had to be more intellectual. Come on--just be yourself! Tony taught me that because he loves me [as me]. He made me feel comfortable [being myself] again."

Pass the sick bucket.

Runway To Photo Shoot - Blake Lively In Vanity Fair

With all the hoopla over Miley Cyrus' Vanity Fair shoot, it seem most have forgotten about Blake Lively's shoot with the same publication.

Back in January Vanity Fair took actress Blake Lively aka Serena van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl to the Spring 2008 Haute Couture Fashion Week.

Whilst there and in between Chanel, Valentino and Jean Paul Gaultier Couture shows, Blake posed for Vanity Fair in various Haute Couture Spring 2008 creations.

In the picture above Blake is wearing a Christian Dior Spring 2008 Couture gown which is Swarovski-crystal-encrusted and weighs 33 lbs.

Here are some extracts from her interview:

On going to the couture shows: "It was like stepping into a fairy tale. Meeting Karl Lagerfeld and Mr. Valentino-it was mind-blowing."

On her photoshoot: "I don't even have words for how wonderful it was, going around the city in these clothes. It's every girl's dream to run around Paris in couture gowns."

On her Versace couture gown: "It was a little too tiny, we had to fudge it. I've got some curves."

On her Chanel shoot: "Sofia Coppola's take on 'Alice in Wonderland'. It had a Mad Hatter vibe to it."

On the girls who go to private school in New York: "You definitely see these girls with Chanel purses and Diane von Furstenberg coats. Some of them are 12 years old, and they're on iPhones and have Blackberry's. I don't know what you could do with a Blackberry at 12."

On Serena van der Woodsen's wardrobe: "I have noticed their [the private school girls] style change since the show came on. We copied from their lives, and now these girls are copying from us. It's so crazy that it's translating."

Describing Serena van der Woodsen's style: "Urban equestrian chic."

Runway To Photo Shoot - Sarah Jessica Parker In Vogue US June 2008

Could Sarah Jessica Parker look anymore breath-taking on the cover of Vogue US June 2008?

She is shimmering in this golden Versace Fall 2008 gown, which accessorized is with Stephen Russell diamond-and-platinum earrings. Cartier emerald-cut diamond ring. Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière crystal-and-pearl bracelet. Manolo Blahnik d'Orsay heels and the gorgeous Chris Noth in the background.

This shoot is even better than I hoped it would be. It's sexy, vibrant and has a old Hollywood feel to it just to amp up the glamour.

Vogue US seem to like putting Sarah Jessica Parker in gold on the cover of their magazine. For the September 2005 edition SJP also wore stunning golden gown, and looked equally stunning.

Here are some extracts from Sarah's interview.

On how she is similar to Carrie: "We will both try anything. I will try anything for Carrie, and I will try anything for me. In real life I never dressed the way she dressed, nor would I. I grew up in a house of matching. You know, our hair ribbons matched our dress, and our pinafore matched our socks. You didn't clash colors. What I learned by being around Pat Field was there shouldn't be rules in fashion. Things shouldn't go together. And that's the thing that really changed in my own world and the way I choose to dress."

On being trendy: "Aren't we all supposed to be a little bit the victim of trends? I can look back at pictures of myself with the great assurance that I will be embarrassed by about 60 percent of them. This is the nature of fashion—admiring the wrong girl, you know, looking at the wrong picture, wishing you were somebody else. And that's the developmentally correct thing."

On Carrie's style: "I would wear anything as Carrie Bradshaw if I thought it would be good for the story. The bits and pieces, and the stuff people object to. And that's Carrie—hits and misses mean nothing to her."

Runway To Photo Shoot - Sarah Jessica Parker In New York Magazine

Sarah Jessica Parker was on the cover of New York Magazine, promoting the upcoming Sex and the City movie, out May 28 (UK) and May 30 (US).

On her husband Matthew Broderick: "Matthew doesn’t have enough friends [but mostly has gay friends in New York]. He’s very bright. He’s very dry, and he’s a contrarian, because he enjoys it. And he’s not soft, and he basically turns out to be a very good judge of character, and it just wasn’t his nature prior to having a child to be—he’s kind of immune to anything that even stank of being treacly or insipid."

On her fans: "They’re always, always kind. And I think to see me on the streets of New York, in a place that they might imagine the character would be—it makes people feel good."

On children being fair game for paparazzi: "It’s become more prevalent over the last four years, even more so the last 24 months. Now we just kind of eat it. It’s like empty calories. It’s s—. And it’s so base. I feel very ashamed, I feel like I’m like a—the town trollop. It makes me feel ashamed of my work. And I’m not. But I’m attached to this culture now in a way that, it’s kind of vulgar. And I feel cheapened. And I feel like I’m cheapening the school, like I’m bringing dirt, like I’m bad for the neighborhood."

Runway To Photo Shoot - Nicole Richie In Harper's Bazaar US June 2008

For the June 2008 edition of Harper's Bazaar, former Hollywood wild child, Nicole Richie talks about staying in, mellowing out, and having a child of her own.

Here are some extracts from her interview:

On what surprises her most about motherhood: "Hmm, I would say how fun it is. Everybody talks about how difficult it is in the first three months, but I absolutely love it."

On her boyfriend Joel Madden: "Yeah, for being so opposite, we could possibly hate each other. We were friends first. We just have fun together."

On how many children she wants: "I want five children, twin boys and three girls. I've wanted that since I was a little girl."

On a Lionel-Joel duet: "Sure, why not? My dad really respects Joel as an artist, and they're both really great songwriters, so you never know."

On marriage: "One day, yeah - not tomorrow, not today. We are committed to our family. I'm 26. I've definitely had a very eventful year. So right now, it's about me enjoying my time with my daughter."

Mary-Kate Olsen on Nicole: "Nicole is one of the most loving and nurturing mothers I have yet to come across."
