Red Carpet Transformation - Katie Holmes

The first time we saw Katie Holmes was at the 35th New York Film Festival for the premiere of "The Ice Storm" as a fresh face 18 year old. She wore a what looks like lingerie, with tights and strappy sandals. *shakes head*

Her second appearance on the red carpet got worse at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards as she wore this Gothic inspired all black baggy ensemble.

Katie's first major appearance on the red carpet was at the 50th Annual Emmy Awards. She did not fair to well in this virginal white crochet gown.

For the "X-Men" premiere in New York, Katie was casual wearing a white t-shirt and a snake skinned skirt.

By 2004 Katie had polished her look. To the "First Daughter" premiere in New York she wore a very sexy brown dress with strappy sandals.

In 2005, Katie had got it together looking every inch the B list actress in this white Chanel-esqe dress which she wore to the Fifi Awards.

On my birthday 'TomKat' was born to the media - cue lots of PDA on the red carpet. I only wish Katie had had a better coming out dress at the David di Donatello 2005 Awards in Rome. Once again this ends up looking like tacky lingerie.

Katie was stunning in this turquoise halter dress for the New York premiere of Tom's "War of the World's". I especially love the gold shoes.

This was the start of navy and black becoming a staple in Katie closet. She wore this strapless midnight blue dress to the 2005 BAFTA Awards in London. Love the ghetto gold.

Two weeks and 2 days after having baby Suri, Katie Holmes was back on the red carpet for the LA premiere of Tom's "Mission Impossible III". Her face says to me that the red carpet is the last place she wanted to be, but she looks good for a woman still carrying her baby weight.

Then came the Hollywood glamour. Katie instantly became an A lister when she married Tom Cruise, and with that came designers clamouring to dress her. Giorgio Armani designed her wedding dress and with that came an invitation to the Armani Prive Spring 2007 Paris Fashion Week show. Katie obviously played close attention at the show, because she picked out this gorgeous organza peach Armani Prive Spring 2007 strapless gown for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

I loved this Azzedine Alaia dress and Katie's hair cut, which got it's red carpet debut at the New York premiere of Hairspray. This is Katie's only red carpet appearance without Tom since they got together.

Not many people can out posh Posh, but Katie was a vision in this red vintage James Galanos strapless gown for the Beckham's Welcome to LA Party.

Katie wore this Armani Privé 2007 strapless sweetheart necklined metallic dress for the "Lions For Lambs" Berlin premiere continuing her great style run on the red carpet.

She took the night off from Armani to dazzle the crowds in this one shouldered black satin Monique Lhuillier Spring 2008 gown with flats to the Opening Night Gala Presentation of "Lions for Lambs" in LA.

The most stylish Katie has looked on the red carpet this year was when she wore this aubergine velvet Hermes Fall 2007 halter gown to the 23rd Annual Museum of the Moving Image Black Tie Salute honoring her husband. She is stunning and cements her place as one of the best dressed on the red carpet. For the "Lions for Lambs" Washington premiere she was more business-like in this Lanvin Fall 2007 dress.

It has been a long road on the quest for superstar status for this girl from Ohio, but she has made the transition from awkward teen TV star to a stylist A list red carpet movie star perfectly. I hope she has not peaked, and we see much more great style from Mrs Cruise.

Red Carpet Transformation - Vanessa Hudgens

One of the first times Vanessa Hudgens appeared on the red carpet was for the "Thunderbirds" UK & LA Premiere back in July 2004. She was only 15 then and was probably still trying to discover her style, but for her first outing she does pretty well.

The little girl grew up fast, because 2 years later Vanessa became glamourous on the red carpet.

At the 21st Annual IMAGEN Awards, Vanessa wore this cute black and gold number, whereas for the Teen Choice Awards in August 2006, she teamed a sexy violet satin dress with leopard print shoes.

For the "High School High" Premiere in the UK, Vanessa poses with all the diva attitude of Jennifer Lopez...fierce!

At the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party in September 2006, Vanessa's look is young and laid back.

Vanessa's dress for the Nickelodeon's 20th Annual Kids' Choice Awards back in March was just OK, but the va-va-voom leopard print dress she wore to the Moveline's Annual Young Hollywood Awards in April was super hot. I am glad she did not have the temptation to wear matching leopard print shoes.

Vanessa was right on trend with the Maxi dress she wore to the MTV Movie Awards in June this year.

At Rubik's Revolution Launch she shows us that she can look great off the red carpet in jeans.

Now these are my two favourite dresses she has worn this year. If I had to choose I would say the black dress she wore to the "Hairspray" LA Premiere was the best, but I love the shoes she chose to dress up her outfit for the ABC Summer Press Tour Party.

For someone so young, Vanessa has not made many red carpet mistakes, if any, which is rare for someone who is still only 18. She does not under-dress and she does not over dress, she has the balance just right. Just think of Britney at her age, not a pretty sight.

Vanessa Hudgens has gone from an unknown teen to a style teen queen. I hope her style continues to shine on the red carpet..and to think, this is only the beginning.

I hope she does a Cate Blanchett (get better) and not a Britney (get worse).

Red Carpet Transformation - Angelina Jolie

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

One of Angelina's first red carpet appearances as an adult was for the premiere of 'Playing God' in October 1997. She obviously never had a stylist.

For her Oscar win she went Goth in this floor lengthed black dress and dramatic make-up.

In 2001 Angelina lighted up on the dramatic make-up but wore leather for her 'Lara Croft' premiere.

Also in 2001 she was all-white for the 73rd Oscars. A dramatic difference to her appearance in 2000.

For the 2002 Golden Globes the gothic make-up makes a comeback.

At the Cannes Film Festival in 2004, Angelina returns to a masculine suit although the face and make-up is very soft.

Angelina keeps up the Oscar white for her 2004 Oscar appearance in this floor length gown.

She returns to black for the 'Alexander' LA premiere. This dress is amazing and shows off her perfect figure.

In 2005 the 'Mrs & Mrs Smith' premiere saw Angelina walk the red carpet in her most sexiest outfit yet. The floor length leather dress had many men (including Brad no doubt) weak at the knees.

For the 'Good Shephard' premiere in 2006, Angelina looked very gaut and thin in this black dress with silver embellishments.

The 'God Grew Tired Of Us' premiere this year Angelina kept up the black theme in this ensemble which was well co-ordinated with her partner.

At this years Golden Globes, Angelina wore this grey St. John's dress which I hated on her. I was very disappointed that the Jolie-Pitts first red carpet appearance would be her in this dress.

And then......YELLOW. There was a collective jaw-drop when Angelina stepped out with her beau in this Emanuel Ungaro yellow gown for the 'Ocean's 13' premiere in Cannes last week. Hopefully this is the stepping stone to seeing Angelina break away from the dark side of her closet and embrace the lighter side.

Red Carpet Transformation - Christina Aguilera

She has gone from being down-right 'Dirrty' as Xtina in 2002, to returning 'Back to Basics' as Christina Aguilera in 2006.

Gone are the chaps, butt revealing skirts, multi-coloured hair extensions and in are the tailored suits, subtle make-up and Emanuel Ungaro dresses like this one she wore at this years Grammy Awards.

She has gone from Trashy to Classy in a matter of 4 years. I believe this has much to do with her calming influence of her husband.

Red Carpet Transformation - Macy Gray

Here is Macy Gray looking very smart at John Varvatos' 5th Annual Stuart House Benefit in Beverly Hills.

Yes I am shocked too that the picture on the right is Macy...but it is. The picture on the left is from the 2005 Emmy Awards.

Just goes show what 2 years, a suit and a straighten irons can do.

Red Carpet Transformation - Pink

What a difference 4 years and marriage makes.

We were all blown away by how fantabulous (Fantastic and Fabulous) she looked on the red carpet for the 2007 Grammy's. She even got a Red Carpet Fashion Award for Wow! "Who Knew?"

On the right is Pink at the 2003 Grammy's looking like...well P!nk, grungy, rock n' roll, ready to kick your arse...so fast forward to the Grammy's 2007 and here is Pink still keeping her punk attitude in this keyhole number by Herve Leger fresh. She looks cute, fresh, fun, sexy, slimmer, glamorous, pink-less (unlike the 2003 picture), sophisticated but still looking like she would kick mine and your arse.
