Cynthia Rowley Spring 2011

Cynthia Rowley’s Spring 2011 collection was all about circles.

Swiss-cheese-like perforation were artfully placed on dresses, skirts, pockets, pants and tops. It was like the designer had taken a giant hole punch to the pieces.

Those pieces that weren’t perforated were decorated with pyramids of cabochons.

Apart from the circles Rowley also gave us sheer stripes and colour blocking.

The collection had a 70?s mod feel to it, with boxy shift dresses and slim fitting pants.

The colour palette was mostly neutral with loud pops of pink, mustard and coral which seem to be the colours of the season.

Key accessories included patterned ankle strap heels which were worn over sheer socks. Large statement necklaces and bags ranging from lady-like to slouchy clutches.

Favourites: The mustard perforated skirt and the grey cabochon top paired with the perforated tiered skirt

Front Row: Rebecca Romijn, Nigel Barker, Katie Lee and Lauren Bush

Who I See Wearing This Collection:
Maria Sharapova, Parker Posey, Rebecca Romijn, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Rutherford

Rachel Antonoff Spring 2011

Rachel Antonoff Spring 2011 presentation felt like I was crashing a teenagers slumber party.

Models were lounging on beds playing with a Ouija board, using crayons to draw on the walls, roasting marshmallows, playing in a tree house and jumping on a trampoline.

The collection was made up of adorable dresses, bra tops and bloomers, blouses paired with Bermuda shorts, overalls paired with a bra top, tees, shorts and skirts.

It all had a very nostalgic feel to it.

All of the models wore either brogues or loafers from the ‘Bass hearts Rachel Antonoff’s collection.

Favourites: Sleeveless print dress with a turquoise belt and gingham dress with a sailor collar

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Emma Stone and Zooey Deschanel

Fashion’s Night Out In New York City

Leighton Meester looked amazing at the Roger Vivier Fashion’s Night Out event in New York City last night.

Her Emilio de la Morena Spring 2010 dress has the right amount of pretty edginess that’s not too try hard.

I’m glad she shorten it and didn’t wear the belt. This is how you modify a look to suit your style without losing any of the original appeal.

Victoria Beckham was at Bergdorf Goodman for FNO.

She wore a dress from her Fall 2010 collection with Brian Atwood heels.

The dress is nice enough, but the hair is getting worse.

Can someone please return the real Rachel Bilson.

This is the second time I love what she’s wearing and she’s actually done something with her hair for a change.

Loving the make-up to.

Her Suno Resort 2011 dress is the kinda fun colourful dress someone like her should be wearing on the red carpet sans those darn ankle boots of course.

Rachel attended the Sunglass Hut FNO event.

I almost fell of my chair when I saw Dakota Fanning wearing a latex Prada Fall 2010 dress at the Prada FNO event.

I still see Dakota as a 12 years old, so I’m feeling a tad uncomfortable about this, which makes me feel really old.

Elettra Wiedemann’s Stella McCartney asymmetrical satin dress with a train from the Fall 2010 collection looked amazing on Lancome girl as she celebrated FNO with the cosmetic brand.

She was second favourite of the night.

Sarah Jessica Parker was at the Fred Leighton FNO event.

She dazzled wearing an Oscar de la Renta Resort 2011 dress with Brian Atwood heels.

Tadashi Shoji Spring 2011

Tadashi Shoji’s Spring 2011 presentation was inspired by the Renaissance frescos of Piero della Francesca and Botticelli.

His cool colour palette consisted of mostly ivory, stone, ice, baby blue and lavender.

I preferred the setting of this presentation over a runway show, because this way I could take in the elegance and feel the romanticism of the collection.

Water-colour caftans, off-the shoulder dresses, column gowns, asymmetrical ruffled dresses decorated with paillettes, lace and intricate embroidery were presented within this truly desirable collection.

Let’s pray we see this collection on the red carpet soon.

Favourites: One-shoulder grey gown with ruffles on the neckline and hem, plus the lavender one-shoulder ruffled mini dress

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Jayma Mays, Lea Michele, Kristen Stewart, Christina Applegate, Anna Kendrick, Amber Heard, Fan Bingbing, Lucy Liu, Dakota Fanning and Emmy Rossum

Front Row @ Jason Wu Spring 2011

Diane Kruger was one of the stars who sat in the front row at Jason Wu’s Spring 2011 presentation.

The gorgeous German actress arrived just before the show started wearing a Chanel Fall 2010 Couture dress.

She’d arrived from attending the Karl Lagerfeld luncheon with Anna Wintour – so don’t hate her.

I was sat 2 rows behind Diane blinded by the lights of the photographers flash bulbs.

At the end of the presentation when Jason took his bow, Diane gave him a standing ovation which I thought was so sweet.

For the man who makes her look so pretty in custom gowns, it’s not wonder she wanted to show her appreciation for his work in this way.
