Marchesa To Launch Accessories

Marchesa – the queens of red carpet gowns – have made the natural progression to accessories, which they will debut during their Spring 2010 presentation.

The collection of 28 clutches and evening cases will complement their stunning designers gowns.

Some of the clutches you will notice are embossed with Marchesa’s signature rosette motif.

The bags are just big enough to carry the essentials: BlackBerry, lipstick and keys.

I can already picture these stunning bags on the red carpet.

They’re set to retail from $995 to $5,000 for an exotic skin.

Jennifer Connelly For InStyle UK October 2009

Jennifer Connelly is an absolute knock-out on the cover of the October 2009 issue of InStyle UK, which is on sale tomorrow.

I’m trying to locate my jaw which is on the floor somewhere as I’m blown away by her amazing editorial, which was shot by Mark Abrahams and styled by Leslie Fremar.

And it’s not just the cover, the editorial is even more impressive with the star wearing a black Calvin Klein dress with Nina Ricci boots, and a Rodarte silk chiffon and crystal dress paired with the Fall 2009 Nicholas Kirkwood runway boots.

As well as being an Oscar-winning actress, Jennifer is also the stunning face of both Balenciaga and Revlon.

Hopefully we will get to see her wearing Balenciaga and other designers when she starts to promote her new movie Creation which is based on the true story of Charles Darwin’s struggle to publish his theory of evolution ‘The Origin of Species’, and how his grief over the death of their beloved daughter Annie nearly destroys him and their marriage.

The film is due out on 25 September which she stars alongside her husband actor Paul Bettany.

Here are some extracts from her interview with Lucie Young:

On her daily uniform: “”A much-loved pair of old biker boots, figure-hugging jeans and an acid yellow T-shirt from American Apparel. I tend to recycle. I have Doc Martens I’ve had since I was 15 that I still wear. I have to retire them soon because they are falling apart”.

Who Wore Elise Øverland Better? Malin Akerman or Kristin Cavallari

Malin Akerman brought out her hidden sex kitten wearing a metallic Elise Øverland Fall 2009 cold-shoulder mini dress, when she attended the “Svedka Vodka Sessions” event at Private Park in New York back in July.

She kept her look very simple, only opting for lace open-toe booties.

“The Hills” bad girl Kristin Cavallari wore the same dress belted to the Nylon Magazine party last month.

She debuted a new blonder ‘do, whilst pairing a YSL clutch and ankle boots with her look.

I’m all about detail, and the gathered detail on the front of Kristin’s dress is lost when she adds the braided belt, so Malin wins this for me.

On The Set Of Sex And The City 2 With Sarah Jessica Parker Carrying A Chanel Clutch

OMG…Sarah Jessica Parker was back on the set of “Sex And The City” in New York today.

It seems like only yesterday they were announcing the sequel, now SJP is pounding the Manhattan streets wearing gold sparkling Christian Louboutin pigalle heels – What happened to her Manolo’s?

Sporting her trademark curly do SJP was a perfect vision wearing a white 3/4 length sleeved Halston Heritage dress, a exquisite Solange Azagury-Partridge tetris-esqe necklace and carry a STUNNING Chanel gold purse.

I want one. Like I’ve never wanted anything in my whole life.

I must admit I was skeptical of the sequel, but after seeing SJP on set I’m back on board.

Move over Blake and Leighton, the Queen of New York is back.

Rinko Kikuchi’s “Maps Of The Sounds Of Tokyo” Spanish Promotional Tour

Prior to flying to Japan to attend the Opening Ceremony opening party, Rinko Kikuchi was in Spain to attend the Barcelona premiere of her movie “Map Of The Sounds Of Tokyo”.

Like Diane Kruger, Rinko has been promoting this movie since Cannes Film Festival where we saw her wear an array of stunning gowns.

On this occasion Rinko went for an edgier look, opting for a Toga Fall 2009 dress which Mary-Kate Olsen wore in black to the same “Opening Ceremony party” Rinko attended this weekend.

Rinko’s dress was blue, which allows us to see more of the pleated and ruffled details.

I love it when Rinko gives us edgy, she never looks uncomfortable and this look suits her kooky style well.

The actress paired her dress with YSL Trib Two heels.

For the Madrid premiere Rinko stuck to the same designer, but this time she wore a black structured peplum dress.

The metallic dress is much simpler than the previous dress, yet still fascinating in it’s design.

The dress has structured cap sleeves, with partial sleeves under the arms.

The peplum on the hips is decorated with a black ruffle trim and the skirt has two diagonal pleats on the front.

Her futuristic dress needed a stand out pair of heels, and she doesn’t disappoint in that department either.

A silver sparkling clutch completes the look.

Rinko’s dress is available to purchase in navy from farfetch.com for £995/ €1,249/$1,829.

2009 USTA US Open Official Player Party

Emmy Rossum goes from sex kitten at the 2009 Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Annual Installation Luncheon, to chic and ladylike at this event.

The actress wore an ivory Temperley London Resort 2009 dress with a high embellished collar.

The belt perfectly complements the embellished neckline, along with her other gold accessories.

I’m loving the variety of looks Emmy is giving us lately.

Olivia Palermo floor-length Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2009 floaty dress only reached the knee of the model.

The pint-size New Yorker’s dress had an additional lining from the runway version, which she paired with a gold cuff.

I love the dress, but I’m not crazy about the tan strappy heels.

I would have paired this dress with silver strappy heels.

Venus Williams is usually the best dressed woman on the court with her Eleven by Venus Williams sportswear, but off court her looks used to be questionable until she started to step things up a notch.

This goes in the questionable section. I like the simplicity of the black jumpsuit and the ruffled bib, but the length of the pants bother me.
