Backstage @ Georges Hobeika Spring 2011 Couture

Yesterday I attended the Georges Hobeika Spring 2011 Couture presentation.

I was invited backstage so decided to experience what life is like behind the scenes.

You’ll be surprised to learn that it’s wasn’t as hectic as you would imagine.

Everyone knows what they are doing, the models eat the catering provided and there aren’t any diva tantrums.

Whilst getting their hair and make-up done, the models all wore bathrobes with ‘Georges Hobeika’ is silver embroidery stitched on the back.

From hair and make-up the model move onto their dressers who are dwarfed by the Amazonian models.

Once changed into their second looks the models have plenty of time to pose for pictures and dance around to the music playing the background.

The most attention was paid to the finale model who wore the most elaborate gown I have ever seen up close.

She was pampered like a true bride.

It took a about 8 people to lower her into the stunning strapless tulle embellished gown.

When she had the gown on the room seemed to fall silent as everyone collectively sighed in admiration.

The collection was called “Maiden of the Deep” which explains the sea stone grey, lilac and beige colour palette and fossil-like shaped embellishments and details.

Im Soo Jung In Valentino – “Come Rain Come Shine” Press Conference

Im Soo Jung looked very chic at the press conference for her new movie “Come Rain Come Shine” in Seoul, South Korea last week.

She wore a Valentino Resort 2011 dress which has an interesting combination of a lace bodice and leather skirt with a black bow at the waist.

Im Soo Jung kept her make-up very simple and wore her hair back.

To complete her look she wore thick black tights and black patent lace up booties.

I really like the dress, especially the A-line skirt.

The tights aren’t so bad for a press conference, but I wish Im Soo Jung had breathed a bit more life into her look.

Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2011 Couture

Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2011 Couture collection showed that the designer is still in love with bold shoulders.

I expected to see super sexy glamorous looks, which were bold and daring.

I wasn’t disappointed.

We saw plenty of plunging necklines, double thigh-high splits and floor-length dresses made of lurex which clung to the body.

I don’t recall Alexandre presenting prints before, but this collection had a few looks with bold graphic prints which were one of the few every day wearable looks from this collection along with a striking taupe satin jumpsuit.

The rest were for evenings out or working the red carpet like the gold fringe beaded Swarovski elements dress with the neckline plunging to the models navel, or the black figure-hugging dress with the sheer panels.

Key accessories: Jewelry by Emmanuel Aubry, Christian Louboutin heels, eyewear and clutches by Alexandre Vauthier

Favourites: Gold beaded dress and white jumpsuit with plunging neckline and gold belt

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Rihanna and Angelina Jolie

Who Wore Stella McCartney Better? Chloe Moretz, Amy Smart or Hailee Steinfeld

Actress Chloe Moretz was the first of this trio wearing this black Stella McCartney delicate floral appliqué lace dress to the “Let Me In” Premiere during the 54th BFI London Film Festival back in October.

Her Resort 2011 dress was paired with thick black tights and black patent heels.

Amy Smart wore the same dress a few weeks later when she arrived at the “Dead Awake” LA Premiere.

A messy updo, silver heels and a selection of M.C.L. by Matthew Campbell statement bracelets completed her look.

My girl crush of 2011 Hailee Steinfeld added satin booties to her look when she arrived at The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and & InStyle’s Miss Golden Globe 2011 introduction in West Hollywood, California last month.

Hailee’s winning smile and cool choice of footwear make her a winner in my eyes.

Chloe’s dress feels like it’s totally overwhelming her and Amy over accessorized with the bracelets.

Mischa Barton In Alexander Terekhov – “You and I” Russia Press Conference

If you’ve been wondering, “What happened to Mischa Barton?”

It looks like she’s been working, because she was in Russia today – on her 25th birthday – to promote her new movie, “You and I.”

At the Russian press conference she wore a dress by a talent young local designer named, Alexander Terekhov.

Terekhov is known for his classic, modern and feminine style. Russian celebrities and socialites love to attend events wearing his pieces.

Mischa paired her salmon and black printed Spring 2011 dress with the super thick black tights and taupe ankle boots with a black patent toe-cap.

I like the dress, but I wish Mischa styled the look more like the runway.

She really needed that black belt.

“You and I” opens in Russia on February 3rd, 2011. The film stars Mischa playing a young Russian girl named Lana.

Kate Moss In Salvatore Ferragamo – The Wolseley

We are used to Kate Moss wearing rock chick leather jackets, with oversized white tees and skinny jeans, but she opted for a chic look whilst headed to dinner at The Wolseley in London on Friday night.

The supermodel was styled to perfection wearing a grey mini dress which showed off her toned golden legs.

She accessorised with a black Chanel quilted bag, two-tone grey heels and a Salvatore Ferragamo fur jacket.

Trademark smoky eyes and a pop of colour via her bright red lips completed he glamorous look.

I don’t recall the last time she looked this good.
