Gwen Stefani for Vogue US January 2013

Gwen Stefani landed the January 2013 cover for American Vogue. The 43-year-old rock star sparkles on the cover wearing a Saint Laurent Spring 2013 ensemble shot by Annie Leibovitz.

In the rest of the editorial she wears more Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane and A.L.C. There were no fancy ball gowns or bewitching fairytale locations – just Gwen in her element in a studio wearing rocker threads and staying true to herself.

The singer opens up to Vogue about everything from motherhood to her music.

This issue hits newsstands on December 25. Here are some highlights to keep you going until then.

On being pregnant while recording her first album: “I did my first solo record and went on tour while I was pregnant. I would want to throw up during certain songs. Certain outfits would make me sick. It was torture. I toured until I was four and a half months pregnant, showing. I came home and had Kingston, and when he was eight months old, I went back on the road. I nursed him for fourteen months, so I would literally do my hair and makeup, go back to the bus, nurse him, put him down, and walk out onstage. And I did that for 100 shows.”

On motherhood:
“It’s super fun being a mom, but it’s not what you think it’s going to be. And it’s really gradual. At first, your life is totally the same. You have this cute little thing that you get to drive around everywhere and you’re so proud and it’s amazing. And as they grow older, it really does start to change your life. Like, Oh, my God, they have school, they have to get through first grade, they have to learn to read. It starts getting so serious, and you’re like, Aaaaaaah!”

On her band, No Doubt:
“I feel like we’ve always been in our own little lane. Never fitting in. Never a nineties grunge band, never a pop girl band. And it’s the same now. I did the solo thing, but I felt like I was trying to play a character in a way, this Alice in Wonderland pretend version of myself. But this, being in No Doubt, is really who I am.”

On what inspires her music: “There has to be some kind of saga going on. . . . Ten years ago, I had started L.A.M.B. because I was preparing myself, knowing that the music thing was going to end. Who knew that ten years later, I’d be doing a No Doubt record, be married, have two kids, have three clothing lines? All at one time! It would be ridiculous to do that. And it is ridiculous. It’s impossible. . . . That’s what this whole record was: trying to balance it, trying to be my creative self but also be the new me.”

Hailee Steinfeld In Louis Vuitton – Sweet 16 Party

Hailee Steinfeld celebrated her Sweet 16 at the Rolling Stone Restaurant and Lounge in LA on Saturday.

The pretty actress wore a Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 romper.

Her black-and-ivory checked romper was styled with a bright-red Louis Vuitton clutch, which matched her nail polish, and nude ankle-strap Nicholas Kirkwod pumps with a red platform.

I loved this look until I got to the heels. The style isn’t the issue because what 16-year-old doesn’t want to wear platform heels on their birthday?

It’s more the colour.

I think even solid black would’ve worked better for me here.

Yay or nay on the heels?

You can get Hailee’s Nicholas Kirkwood heels from Saks.com.

Which Was Your Favourite Naomie Harris ‘Skyfall’ Promo Tour Look?

Naomie Harris was unveiled as a Bond girl for the ‘Skyfall’ movie way back in May, wearing a beautiful blue lace dress with matching shoes in Istanbul, where most of the movie was shot.

It wasn’t until October that the promo tour kicked off, with the British actress wearing her first of three Marios Schwab dresses at a photocall in New York.

Back in London she donned Chanel for a photocall, then for the royal premiere she shone in a Marios Schwab gown followed by a cocktail dress by the same designer for the after-party.

In Rome it was a double dose of Dolce before she headed to Madrid, where she donned two Lanvin dresses.

Naomie returned to Istanbul, where her penultimate look was custom made by Nicholas Oakwell, before she concluded her tour wearing a Maison Martin Margiela gown.

While the actress seemed to favour Marios Schwab during this tour, my favourite look was her Nicholas Oakwell look, followed by the Margiela and Chanel looks.

Romeo Beckham for Burberry Spring 2013

The new Burberry Spring 2013 ad campaign, shot by Mario Testino, was released earlier today.

I was excited to discover that Romeo Beckham appears in the campaign which features Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell, Charlotte Wiggins, Charlie France, Alex Dunstan and Max Rendell.

This is Romeo’s first ad campaign and I have to say the youngster looks to have a bright future in fashion ahead of him – he is a natural.

I’m sure his parents, especially Victoria, are very proud.

Solange Knowles In Boxing Kitten – Listening Party For Solange Knowles New Album ‘True’

Late last month, Solange Knowles threw a listening party for her new album, ‘True’ at the Sonos Studios in LA.

My favourite girl, mostly for her love of prints, donned a Boxing Kitten ‘Oxford’ romper from the designers Spring 2013 collection.

The look which incorporates African prints with a contemporary design, was styled with coral lips, bouncy, soft curls and green-and-black buckle accented sandals.

Xingtong Yao In Georges Hobeika Couture – 55th Asia-Pacific Film Festival

Xingtong Yao was back on the red carpet this weekend attending the 55th Asia-Pacific Film Festival held at the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel in Macau.

Giving us a slight smile on this occasion, the stunning Asian actress wore another gown by a Lebanese designer, this time from Georges Hobeika’s Fall 2012 Couture collection.

Her raspberry gown with a daring keyhole opening was decorated with Swarovski crystals, pearls and velvet flowers, plus a velvet waistband which nips in the waist.

I love the unique gathered details on the skirt which fall in an asymmetrical line, allowing for the gown to move with a graceful elegance.

Pretty nails, a side-swept ponytail and diamond-encrusted earrings completed this look.

Georges Hobeika appears to be huge in Asia at the moment, with so many actresses wearing his designs on the red carpet.
