Anne Hathaway In The Row – 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon

Anne Hathaway In The Row R13 - 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon

Oscar-nominated actress Anne Hathaway joined fellow nominees on the red carpet at the 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon, hosted on Monday at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California.

Unlike the others, who wore colourful or floral looks, it was head-to-toe black for Anne.

Keeping her look simple, she opted for a black Resort 2013 dress with a cascading ruffle at the back by The Row.

Her LBD was styled with black vegan sandals, Jamie Wolf yellow-gold and pavé diamond stud earrings, plus Jennifer Meyer bracelets and rings.

A pink lip colour completed her elegant luncheon look.

Naomi Watts In Valentino – 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon

Naomi Watts In Valentino - 85th Academy Awards Nominations LuncheonNaomi Watts continued her chic streak at the 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon, hosted on Monday at The Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

‘The Impossible’ actress dressed in an elegant, black Valentino frock.

Textured swirls of rose-inspired embroidery, a flouncy hemline and pockets added a spirited edge to this LBD.

So did Christian Louboutin’s PVC and leather ‘Paulina’ pumps, which we first glimpsed on Lea Michele during the 2013 TCA Winter Press Tour in mid-January.

Lush side-parted curls and a pink lip completed the effortless look.

Jennifer Lawrence In Chloé – 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon

Jennifer Lawrence In Chloé - 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon‘Silver Linings Playbook’ actress Jennifer Lawrence joined fellow Oscar nominees at the 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon, hosted on Monday at The Beverly Hilton hotel in California.

After a few puzzling black and blue exits, I was really hoping that she would bring something inspiring to the luncheon table. This napkin-white, embossed Chloé Spring 2013 dress was not it.

The strapless midi, with its fair share of ruffled flip and flounce, was too nonchalant and breezy for the occasion. Plus, the fold-over bodice and the overall fit did nothing for me—or for Jennifer.

The heft of a substantial pair of Casadei pumps was even more baffling. Those black heels didn’t belong anywhere near this dress.

She also debuted different styling that included half-up, half-down hair and sultrier-than-normal makeup with a liberal application of bronzer, a smokey eye and plump nude lip.

There was a brief silver lining (no pun intended) in Jennifer’s fashion repertoire with the canary yellow Emilio Pucci she wore last week. Hopefully it returns, as I cannot wait for film’s “it” girl to get back on fashion girl territory, too.

Jessica Chastain In Erdem – 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon

Jessica Chastain Erdem

Jessica Chastain was no wallflower when she took to the red carpet at the 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon on Monday, held at The Beverly Hilton in California.

The ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ actress plucked out a vibrant sheath dress from Erdem’s Resort 2013 offering.

With its simple silhouette, the main impact of this midnight navy design was the intricate texture of the bright rose and dusty blue floral embroidery and the sheer lace sleeves.

Luncheon-like and lady-like, the look was finished with a pair of nude, pointy Christian Louboutins that faded into the background—not nearly as bold as the model’s shoe.

Jessica wore her flame-red locks long and curled, and she matched a pink lippie to those petals on her dress.

She’s not the only star who has lately been channeling the flower power of Erdem. Anne Hathaway recently wore a look from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection, as did Marion Cotillard—twice, in fact.

Quvenzhane Wallis In David Meister – 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon

Quvenzhané Wallis In David Meister - 85th Academy Awards Nominations LuncheonQuvenzhane Wallis fit right in with the stylista screen starlets at the 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon, hosted on Monday at The Beverly Hilton hotel in California.

The young actress continued the fashion fun when she showed off her third David Meister frock of the last few days; this time exchanging pink for purple.

The deep amethyst dress was encrusted with gems at the neckline, so only a dainty earring and bracelet and a small hair bow were necessary.

Of course, Quvenzhane kept up her pooch parade, carrying another one of her cute, signature pup purses over her shoulder.

Hot pink ballet flats complemented the dress—and matched her doggie’s outfit.

Amy Adams In J. Mendel – 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon

Amy Adams In J Mendel - 85th Academy Awards Nominations LuncheonEverything was coming up flowers for the Oscar-nominated Amy Adams who flitted down the red carpet at the 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon, hosted on Monday at The Beverly Hilton in California.

The actress went girly and graceful in her exploded floral-print entrée from J. Mendel’s Spring 2013 collection.

The long-sleeve, ultra-“violet” frock could have seemed overwhelming. But then Amy turned to reveal the cool cut-out back; it was just the touch of edge this luxe day dress required.

As for the ubiquitous nude pumps, I would have swapped the Casadei platforms, which felt too weighty for this diaphanous design, for something closer to the runway pair.

To complete the look, Amy pulled her auburn hair into a low ponytail, adding softness with face-framing layers, and painted on a petal-pink pout.
