Rooney Mara In Balenciaga – ‘Trash’ Rome Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Rooney Mara In Balenciaga - 'Trash' Rome Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Rooney Mara served up a double dose of Balenciaga while promoting her new movie, ‘Trash’, during the 2014 Rome Film Festival in Rome, Italy on Saturday (October 18).

Photocall: For the photocall the actress selected a printed dress from the Spring 2014 collection, which kinda threw me for a loop on account of it being a sidestep out of her favoured black or white box. The sophisticated sleeveless cut-out design with a pretty flared skirt was styled with a pair of bland black pumps and a berry-hued lip.

Premiere: For the premiere it was back to black for Rooney, who wore a two-piece design from Balenciaga’s current Spring 2015 collection featuring an arm-restricting sheer crop top and a sheer textural skirt, with the black pumps perfectly complementary on this occasion, and the makeup kept simpler with cat-eyes and a nude lip.

While I have often moaned about Rooney’s non-committal attitude to colour, I have to say the look which works for her best is the all-black contemporary design.

Do you agree?

Little Mix – Radio One Teen Awards

Radio One Teen Awards - Red Carpet Arrivals

Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson of Little Mix attended the Radio One Teen Awards held at Wembley Arena on Sunday (October 19) in London, England, sticking to a mostly black and white colour palette.

Jade Thirlwall: The rebel of the group didn’t stick to the black–white memo, selecting a navy and white striped sporty blazer and trousers by Topshop Boutique styled with Zara nude pumps.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock: By far my favourite of the quartet was Leigh-Anne, who donned an uber-stylish Jean-Pierre Braganza Spring 2015 look consisting of a satin top and skirt with a textural collarless blazer styled with a fierce pair of Steve Madden strappy pumps.

Perrie Edwards: Going for a more boho-inspired look, the singer wore a summery white Free People ‘Gemma’ halter frock styled with grey Topshop ‘Rosalia’ sandals, with her sweet updo accented with a silver headband.

Jesy Nelson: The singer kept it simple in a long black ASOS frock with an asymmetrical neckline, letting the accessories do all the work.

Lily Collins In Elie Saab Couture – ‘Love, Rosie’ Rome Film Festival Premiere

Lily Collins In Elie Saab Couture - 'Love, Rosie' Rome Film Festival Premiere

Lily Collins looked ever so graceful on the red carpet yesterday evening (October 19) for the ‘Love, Rosie’ premiere during the 9th Rome Film Festival in Rome, Italy following the photocall during the day.

While some of you have bemoaned Elie Saab’s repetitive gowns, I’m sure your heart skipped several beats, like mine did, when you saw Lily take to the red carpet in this elegant Elie Saab Spring 2014 Couture ombre gown.

It’s the one we all wanted to see on the red carpet, perhaps on the likes of Penelope Cruz, Mila Kunis or (wishful thinking) Marion Cotillard, but Lily more than holds her own in this breathtaking design.

Yet another bold lip, this time in a darker berry hue, perfects this look along with a retro wavy bob ‘do, with Vita Fede jewelry rounding out her look.

This has BDOTY contention written all over it. Will it make your list?

Kirsten Dunst In Burberry Prorsum – Diesel Black Gold at Saks Fifth Avenue Launch and Flaunt Magazine’s 15th Anniversary

Kirsten Dunst In Burberry Prorsum - Diesel Black Gold at Saks Fifth Avenue Launch and Flaunt Magazine's 15th Anniversary

Kirsten Dunst attended a party to celebrate the launch of Diesel Black Gold at Saks Fifth Avenue and Flaunt Magazine’s 15th anniversary held at SIXTY Beverly Hills on Thursday (October 16) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress wore a Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2014 silk chiffon dress in a fresh mint-green hue which has been modified from the look book to reveal a more demure keyhole detail.

Lightweight, breezy and luxurious, the sheer consistency which shows just a hint of skin is delightfully rendered, with a swishy pleated skirt for feminine volume.

It would’ve been nice had she opted for a delicate pair of sandals; however, she kept it basic with a pair of black pumps.

While they don’t kill the look, they don’t enhance it either.

You may remember that Naomie Harris wore this same look on her ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’ promo tour.

Lupita Nyong’o In Fitriani – Sindika Dokolo Art Foundation Dinner

Lupita Nyong'o In Fitriani - Sindika Dokolo Art Foundation Dinner

Lupita Nyong’o made a long-awaited return to the red carpet for the Sindika Dokolo Art Foundation dinner held at the Café Royal on Saturday (October 18) in London, England.

The gorgeous actress, who is known for her love of colour and print, took a left turn down an all-black alley, wearing a Fitriani Spring 2015 LBD.

But of course it wasn’t any plain LBD; this creation was rendered with a beautiful ruffled layered bodice, nipped-in waist and voluminous skirt.

Black Paul Andrew pumps, a ladylike Givenchy bag and a sweet bejewelled headband rounded out her look.

The only thing that would’ve perfected this look in my eyes would’ve been a glorious rich lip colour.
