I always think that teen star Selena Gomez looks really age appropriate on the red carpet, especially compared to her peers like Miley Cyrus.

Swati has chosen four dresses for the actress, each with a really different feel.

Swati said: “Selena is always so prim and proper on the red-carpet and has never been known to put a foot wrong. Even though I admire her for her accuracy, I sometimes wish she would be a little more fun and teenage-ish with her fashion choices. Its good to have it together all the time, but why play it so safe when you have a gorgeous face and one heck-of-a-body like Selena? So I have picked these pieces for Selena which have a little element of fun and flirtiness, which her wardrobe needs. Some of these are a bit unconventional according to Selena’s standards, but I am sure she can carry them with aplomb.”

I couldn’t agree with you more and I’m really excited by these choices, which would move Selena out of her comfort zone.

What I wouldn’t give to see her in that Oscar De La Renta dress…

Lady Gaga to wear Christian Lacroix Spring 2009 Couture

Thomas has also compiled a Wish List for the Grammy’s and it’s packed full of drama!

I really like how Thomas has chosen some stars that we know like to be brave when it comes to the red carpet.

Thomas said: “I would like to see Lady Gaga in this Spring 2009 Christian Lacroix Couture gown it has her edge and knowing her she would probably add some crazy platform shoes and some OTT accessories but the gown itself would be glam.”

This dress is A-MAZ-ING.

Lady Gaga would rock this and the exaggerated shoulder has the dramatic effect she always strives for.

Taylor Swift to wear Marchesa Spring 2008

Thomas said: “I would like to see country star Taylor Swift in a beautiful white and black, tulle and lace Marchesa Spring 2008 gown. It is youthful and glamorous and Taylor would totally rock it.”

I love Taylor when she wears softer pieces and I love Marchesa. What a brilliant pairing.

Keri Hilson to wear Christian Dior Fall 2005 Couture

Thomas said: “I went a little bit further back to choose a gown for newcomer Keri Hilson, the gown I choose for her came from the Christian Dior Couture Fall 2005 collection. The gowns from this collection are very now because they were all unlined and sheer. I love the embellishments and I think that Keri should totally wear this even if it is old (LOL seeing it is only years ago it seems like FOREVER). I also do not want her to wear the runways coat, just some amazing gold stilettos”

WOW – what a great collection to look back to.

I completely agree that she should wear this without the runway coat.

I always find Keri Hilson a bit hit and miss on the red carpet and so I think that this Dior dress would show that the star is capable of looking sexy and elegant.

Katy Perry to wear Oscar De La Renta

Thomas said: ” I saw this Oscar de la Renta ballgown and was like, this screams KATY PERRY. The mix of colors is amazing and it is edgy yet princessy all at the same time. I really wish Katy wears it, if not to the Costume Institute Gala.”

I really like Katy Perry’s red carpet style, even if she stole one of my major man crushes, British funny man Russell Brand.

This Oscar De La Renta is just breathtaking. I can only assume it must be vintage.

I have always loved the colour contrast of pink and grey and Katy would dazzle in this dress.

Britney Spears to wear Versace Spring 2010

Thomas said: “Everyone is gonna hate this but it is Britney Spears and if she does end up walking the carpet we all know it is gonna be in a sparkly mini dress with bad wavy hair and strappy stilettos so I picked something that would totally stick to her style and still try to hold some form of elegance. So I picked a sparkly pink mini dress from Versace’s Spring 2010 line. I really hope that I’m wrong and she surprises us. If she does, this is the dress she should do it in.”

Britney is such a car crash on the red carpet and I love that Thomas has chosen a dress from Versace Spring 2010 for her.

I really like that Thomas hasn’t tried to totally reinvent her style but instead refine her usual look. She would sizzle in this sparkly number.

Rihanna to wear Rodarte Spring 2009

I’m a bit bored by Rihanna and her shock tactics, which is why I love this Rodarte dress.

It’s has tons of personality without screaming “Look how edgy I am!”.

Carrie Underwood to wear Georges Chakra Spring 2009 Couture

With the Grammy’s on this weekend’s social calendar Alina has compiled her wish list for the event’s red carpet.

Alina said: “I absolutely adore music! Because of that, I’m really excited about the Grammy’s. I’m really wishing for some mind-blowing looks.”

“I really like Carrie Underwood when she wears Georges Chakra. I found a gorgeous dress from the designer’s Spring 2009 Couture collection that would really fit Carrie’s style.”

I agree, Carrie always pleasantly surprises me on the red carpet and I think this one shouldered gown with a gorgeous heavy skirt would make Carrie look like a princess.

Dita Von Teese to wear Zuhair Murad Fall 2009 Couture

Alina said: “I don’t think I have ever seen Dita von Teese at the Grammy’s but I really want to see her wearing this Zuhair Murad ensemble from the Fall 2009 Couture collection at a big event like the Grammy’s.”

In my opinion Dita never fails to make the best dressed list at big events and this Zuhair Murad silver dress would ensure that all eyes were on her.

I love the drama that the bow brings to this look.

Jennifer Nettle to wear Zuhair Murad Fall 2009 Couture

Alina said: “I LOVE Zuhair Murad dresses and I picked one from his Fall 2009 Couture collection for Jennifer Nettles. I love the dress because is so delicate and that’s exactly how Jennifer’s body is too. That’s why I picked this dress for her.”

What a great dress for Jennifer. The white layering is chic and sophisticated whilst the plunging v-necks adds some sexiness to this look.

Fergie to wear Versace Pre Fall 2009

Alina said: “When I think about Fergie the first two things that come to mind are her legs and her beautiful blue eyes. I think that this beautiful Versace dress from the Pre-Fall 2010 collection would show off her killer legs and make her eyes pop.”

I love Fergie in longer dresses but the shorter front of this dress and the structured bodice will also help Fergie bring her signature sex appeal to the red carpet.

I’m really glad that Alina featured this collection in her Wish List. I was drooling over the Versace Pre Fall 2010 collection when I first saw it.

Miley Cyrus to wear Zuhair Murad Fall 2009 Couture

Alina said: “Oh God – I would LOVE to see Miley Cyrus wearing something delicate like this dress from Zuhair Murad’s Fall Winter 09/10 Couture collection.”

A perfect dress for Miley – I’m dying to see her in something age appropriate for once.

Christina Aguilera to wear Karl Lagerfeld Spring 2010, Toni Maticevski Fall 2009 & Francesco Scognamiglio Spring 2010

I’ve always cringed at bit at Christina Aguilera’s sometimes tacky ensembles but she blew me away recently in this Spring 2010 pink and silver Versace gown, which you all agreed she wore better than the designer herself.

Which is why I’m so excited to see Elise compile a Red Carpet Wish List for the singer – and what a wish list it is!

Elise said: “I know that not many people love Christina’s style. But 2010 will be the year of her comeback, and I really hope she’ll surprise us. With less make-up than usual and one of these dress, she will totally amaze me. I chose three different dresses for her.”

“The Karl Lagerfeld dress would look amazing on her petite body, plus she always looks good in black.”

“I am in love with the Toni Maticevski dress, it is not the kind of dress she used to wear but she would look so chic in this. I love the details of it, it is such a stunning piece.”

“Christina doesn’t often wear color, that is why I pick that Francesco Scognamiglio orange dress. It would be a nice change for her.”

I love love love the orange Francesco Sconamiglio dress. It’s so sexy and fun, a look that Christina could channel so well if only she would tone it down a bit. This dress would really help her do this.

I really agree with you, Elise, this could be Christina’s year. Let’s just hope she reads this and takes some style tips from you!

Shermine Sharivar to wear Reem Acra Pre Fall 2010

Miss Europe winner and face of American Apparel, Shermine Sharivar always looks beautiful on the red carpet.

She exudes elegance, which is why I’m so pleased Dora chose something from the stunning Reem Acre Pre Fall 2010 collection.

Dora said: Shermine wowed us all at the Bambi awards wearing Armani Prive Fall 2009. She gave us glamour and sexiness without being tacky. When I saw this piece from the Reem Acre Pre-Fall collection, my mind immediately jumped to her. This dress shows us an elegance that Shermine can definitely pull off.”

What an amazing dress. This shade of purple is just gorgeous and would suit Shermine’s dark colourings so well.

I this is so elegant and whilst it is still sexy, I like that it has a higher neckline than we’re used to seeing Shermine wear.

Kristen Stewart to wear Rock & Republic Spring 2009

I think that Kristen Stewart, for the most part, managed to hold her own on the red carpet during her recent promotional tour for Twilight.

I like that she seems to have an edgy and individual style that doesn’t seem like it’s been forced upon her by a stylist.

Laura has suggested a look for Kristen that is in keeping with the rock-chic vibe she likes to channel.

Laura said: “I would love to see Kristen Stewart in this Rock & Republic Spring 2009 dress. It’s very much Kristen, black with a rock ‘n’ roll feel to it. But the detailing gives it a class and elegance. Of course, in order to make this look work I would like to see Kristen in some kind of silver heel and not in a slouched pose. This is a lot to ask for. But hey, a girl can dream, can’t she?”

Indeed she can, Laura! Wouldn’t it be amazing to see Kristen accessorise something with a smile!

Great choice of dress, I love it’s hard edge and much prefer Kristen in less girly looks.

As FC will tell you, I have warmed to Mrs Beckham recently. I think she’s really found her feet in the fashion world and I find myself coveting her style more and more.

I love then, that Alina has chosen some dresses for Victoria that will help her to continue to be seen as a style icon.

Alina said: “These dresses are made for Victoria Beckham. A new and improved Victoria Beckham! They are very much Victoria’s style but less structured.”

I agree that Victoria’s always seem to chose such structured pieces, which can make her look quite severe.

These dresses will really help to soften her look, whilst keeping that tailored edge that she really seems to love.

I especially love the gathering on this Donna Karen dress.
