Lady GaGa to wear Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2009 Couture

When it comes to avant garde fashion, no one does it better than Lady GaGa. Patty agrees.

Patty said, “In a recent interview Lady GaGa said, ‘I make music inspired in clothing, in fashion’. Well I think if she watch the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2010 Couture show she’d be very inspired.”

“When I saw this collection I was shocked, I couldn’t even blink. Each piece inevitably carried me into the past of my country. In one of the reviews, I read that was inspired in part by Moctezuma, a man who excelled by many factors in one of Mexico´s most majestic times, so I unconsciously relate it to GaGa. Only a woman like her with all their drama, can wear a piece of the Jean Paul Gaultier’s collection, it would be like giving life to the story behind the dress.”

“I wish to see her wearing the couture dress with detailed white corset and skirt structured with feathers, or the couture dress in light purple and yellow that simulates woven palm leaves, with a short skirt structured and high neckline.”

“I really really wish to see her posing with one of these fantastic dresses.”

I really loved the first look. I can totally see Lady GaGa wearing this look on the red carpet whilst striking a fierce pose.

Diane Kruger to wear Atelier Versace Fall 2009

Thomas has a few more Oscar red carpet wishes.

He said, “Diane Kruger has such an amazing sense of style, I know she is not nominated but she will surely stand out on the carpet.”

“I have chosen this Fall 2009 Atelier Versace gown because it is very detailed and she hasn’t worn Atelier since the Inglorious Bastards premiere.”

Gabourey Sidibe to wear Monique Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2010

“I feel bad for Gabourey Sidibe because not many designers do gowns for bigger women but I think that this Monique Lhuillier gown would look stunning on her and do hope she wears it.”

Helen Mirren to wear vintage Balenciaga

“Helen Mirren doesn’t usually wear big designers on the red carpet but I have chosen this Fall 1950 vintage Balenciaga that is in the Costume Institutes archive.”

“This gown needs to be worn by a person with amazing poise and posture, and Helen has all of the requirements.”

Julianne Moore to wear Armani Prive Spring 2010

“Julianne Moore has been wearing lots of Lanvin and Balenciaga on the red carpet, so I wanted to pull something for her that is not either but till in her realm of style”.

“The Armani Prive gown is stunning and i think the white on her skin and hair will look amazing.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal to wear YSL Pre-Fall 2010

“I’m not a huge fan of Maggie Gyllenhaal’s style but I think this Yves St Laurent Pre-Fall 2010 gown will look stunning on her.”

Marion Cotillard to wear Christian Dior Spring 2010 Couture

“Dior is the prefect match for French beauty Marion Cotillard. I have chosen the beige and mustard mermaid gown from the Spring 2010 Couture line and I think there is a big chance Marion will wear this gown at some point.”

Penelope Cruz to wear Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2010

“And Penelope Cruz, she always gives us stunning on the red carpet. I choose this blue & white ball gown from Carolina Herreras Pre-Fall 2010 line.”

“Carolina Herrera is a hard designer to wear on the red carpet because she is very selective of who can wear her pieces that aren’t purchased, so PLEASE Carolina lend Penelope this gown.”

Of all the looks here I favour Diane and Maggie. I think these gowns were made for these women.

Jennifer Aniston to wear Marchesa Fall 2010

We would all hope to be surprised by Jennifer Aniston on any red carpet. We usually can predict at least the colour of what she’s going to wear.

There’s no black in Teresa’s wishes.

She said, “I have loved Jennifer Aniston since Friends and I want her to shock everyone at the Oscars this year as she did last year.”

“I liked her dress at the Golden Globes but was sad to see her revert back to black. If Karl Lagerfeld can create a collection without any black, Jennifer can go without black at the Oscars again!”

“I would love to see her in these Chanel dresses as I think that pastel colours would look great against her tanned skin and she would look so elegant in them.”

“I would also love to see her in this Elie Saab gown as she would really stand out in it and own the red carpet!”

I think I would faint if she wore any of these look especially the Elie Saab gown because I don’t ever recall her wearing a gown with that type of silhouette.

I would like to see her in the pink Chanel and the Elie Saab the most.

Sandra Bullock to wear Bottega Veneta Fall 2010

I love this non-predictable choice by Mark.

He said, “I’d love to see Sandra wear this to this year’s Oscars. People might think it’s too casual but I think the style and colour would be great for her.”

I mostly love this look because I know people just won’t get it, but it would be a great colour for Sandra and it event appropriate without being to girlie which we all know she really hates.

Anna Kendrick to wear Marchesa Fall 2010

Alina is just as excited about the Oscars as the rest of us.

Alina said, “I’ll start with Anna Kendrick. I think she has sense of style and she can pull off this Marchesa dress. The dress is beautiful and the colour will complement her skin tone. It’s the perfect dress for her first Oscars appearance.”

Penelope Cruz to wear Elie Saab Spring 2010 Couture

“Penelope Cruz. The reason why I picked this Elie Saab dress for Penelope is the colour. The dress is elegant and it would be perfect for the Oscars night.”

Diane Kruger to wear Marchesa Fall 2010

“The moment I saw this Marchesa dress I thought it was made for Diane Kruger.”

“The dress is romantic, flowy, delicate..so it’s PERFECT for Diane.”

Ding, Ding, Ding…jackpot. I LOVE all 3 looks. I couldn’t have picked better myself.

My favourite is of course the Elie Saab gown since I’m obsessed with anything he creates, but I love the dreamy like angelic quality of the gowns picked for Anna and Diane.

Carey Mulligan to wear J.Mendel Pre-Fall 2010, Prada Spring 2010 & Lanvin Pre-Fall 2010

We are all eagerly waiting to see what Carey Mulligan wears on Oscar night and Thomas has picked out 3 looks for the Brit actress.

Thomas said, “I am sort of in love with new comer Carey Mulligan on the red carpet and my wishes for her are totally her style.”

“I wanna see Carey at the Oscars in the black J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2010 dress because it is elegant and structured two things Carey loves.”

“The Prada Spring 2010 look is AMAZING. For Carey as a major fan of Prada I’m surprised that she hasn’t worked this dress yet, but with a full white dress under which seeing Prada has modified more than 1 piece from this collection for her I don’t see how that would be a problem.”

“And finally this gold lace Lanvin Pre-Fall 2010 dress. This is a very pretty dress that if Carey doesn’t wear then I think that Marion Cotillard should wear it but no one else because it is just to stately for anyone.”

Although I would love to see Carey wear something more colourful on Oscar night, I’m instantly drawn to the black J.Mendel dress. I think of the 3 she would look amazing in this dress.

Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts, Gwyneth Paltrow and Charlize Theron to wear Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture

For Vera’s first wish she’s requested something different.

“Usually in this section readers choose clothes for a person – but I think this dress is that kind of dress (an outstanding one) needs a choice of beautiful ladies to wear it.”

“I have four in my list – all very classically beautiful, rather tall, statuesque and A-list stars – Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts, Gwyneth Paltrow and Charlize Theron”.

“All of them have already worn Givenchy – despite Gwyneth, she had only shoes – and were outstanding wearing the brand. Why not try this dress?”

” I any cases they all look much much better than Ciara (sorry, Mr Tisci!)”.

All great choices. I even liked Gwynie and Naomi, because even though they are the least obvious, they would still pull of this stunning dress.

Penelope Cruz to wear Chanel Fall 2009 Couture

“I absolutely love Penelope (in Pedro Almadovar’ movies) and she is undoubtedly a very beautiful woman. We all know the list of her favourite designers includes Giorgio Armani, Chanel, L’Wren Scott, sometimes – Alaia and Versace”.

“I hope she has had enough of wearing Armani clothes this year – I just don’t get them. I can’t get them – I’m only twenty! The same applies to L’Wren Scott.”

“We’ve seen her wear Versace to the Oscars before – isn’t it a time for Chanel?.. I remember Pe in Chanel two years ago… Sure, in this Couture Fall 2009 dress worn on the runway by Sasha Pivovarova she will be the best dressed. Fingers crossed.”

Zoe Saldana to wear Alexander McQueen Spring 2010

“To my mind, it is ridiculous that Zoe hasn’t yet worn any piece from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection – the collection made especially for her.”

“Well I know cocktail dresses are not “allowed” on Oscars night, but why not something modified?”

“I have seen close-ups of these dresses in Italian VOGUE and Russian L’Officiel and just fell in love with them. They are so delicate! I can’t imagine a better choice for Zoe for this Oscars. A gown based on one of these pieces will be unforgettable, no doubt.”

Carey Mulligan to wear Elie Saab Spring 2010, Aquilano.Rimondi Spring 2010 and Christopher Kane Spring 2010

“I haven’t yet seen Carey in ‘An Education’ as it will be released in Russian theaters after Oscars, so I can only speak about Carey as a red-carpet chick. And you know what? That chick has her own chic, which is a truly rare thing.”

“Of course, I know Carey’s obsession with Prada – a good obsession! – but I want her to try different designers. Real style – is a mix of different designer am not I right?”

“In my point of view, Carey is obliged to wearing colour. You remember how gorgeous Maggie Gyllenhaal was in a printed Lanvin gown last Golden Globes? I do. And I am sure, Carey will be amazing in a lengthen Elie Saab. Same about Aquilano.Rimondi – embellished bustier will be very good also. Christopher Kane is a designer to watch for Carey – this dress in a full length and modified bodice will make her glow. In her own way.”

Anna Kendrick to wear Gianfranco Ferre Spring 2010, Valentino Spring 2010 and J.Mendel Spring 2010

“Anna’s Golden Globes Marchesa dress was too heavy for her. I mean, the silk of the dress was too heavy – Anna is so thin, so light girl, she needs only light gown.”

“Light, sheer silk clothes. In soft, bright colours. She needs something delicate.”

“For the Oscars Gianfranco Ferre and Valentino only need to be modified with their length.”

Kate Hudson to wear Chapurin Fall 2009 Couture, Lanvin Spring 2010 and Valentino Fall 2009 Couture

“Kate Hudson is a beautiful, young, easy-going person. Why doesn’t she play with fashion?”

“I would love to see Kate wearing this dress from Russian designer Igor Chapurin Couture collection. It would be perfect for Kate. And what about this Lanvin pink silk bow-dress? Kate, I beg for you to wear playful, embellished clothes. Leave Roberto Cavalli and Peter Dundas’ Emilio Pucci for Megan Fox and Heidi Montag.”

All very good pics, but I’m not sure any actress would risk wearing such elaborate designs such as those from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection to the Oscars.
