Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Sofia Coppola In Valentino - Women In Film's 2013 Crystal + Lucy Awards

You could’ve knocked me down with a very light feather when I saw Sofia Coppola take to the red carpet at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California yesterday evening for Women In Film’s 2013 Crystal + Lucy Awards.

That’s because she wasn’t wearing Louis Vuitton. Instead, on this rare occasion, she opted for a Valentino Resort 2013 sheer black dress with a white pointy collar, which she styled with a LV black satin clutch.

You would be forgiven if you thought Sofia was barefoot on the red carpet; actually she is wearing clear pvc Valentino peep-toe slingbacks, which do have a nude base.

Take a look at her footwear in the picture below and tell me what you think.

Elisabeth Moss In Emilio Pucci - Women In Film's 2013 Crystal + Lucy Awards

The first thing that I said when I saw Elisabeth Moss on the red carpet at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California for Women In Film’s 2013 Crystal + Lucy Awards yesterday evening was “why?”

Why wear such a pretty summery Emilio Pucci powder-blue bustier styled with an even prettier pastel swirl-print draped skirt from the Fall 2013 collection, topped off with a gorgeous pink lip shade, if you are going to add such uninspiring black footwear?

This look deserved better. Elisabeth’s red carpet looks always have a nearly there feel to them. This is just one of those many occasions.

January Jones In Mary Katrantzou - Women In Film's 2013 Crystal + Lucy Awards

January Jones attended Women In Film’s 2013 Crystal + Lucy Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Wednesday evening.

The ‘Mad Men’ actress, who looks like she just stepped off the set with that aging hairdo, wore a Mary Katrantzou ‘Fauwi Babelonia’ jacquard cap-sleeved dress with a pretty landscape print from the Fall 2013 collection – a commercial look.

Adding yet more colour to this mesmerizing print, January wore sparkling emerald earrings which highlighted her shimmering green eye makeup.

Does January rock your world with this look?

2013 Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards

The 2013 Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California, where once again the majority of the celebs were decked out in Max Mara or Sportmax.

Hailee Steinfeld: The young actress was feeling very blue, wearing a Sportmax blue suede-and-leather sleeveless dress featuring a pleated skirt, which is a 100% upgrade from yesterday’s look. On this occasion, she styled her look with a blue Max Mara ‘Hollywood II’ clutch and Jimmy Choo ‘Kalan’ ankle-strap peep-toes. Pops of pink via her nails, kohl-rimmed eyes, and flawless makeup completed her look. Which look do you prefer: the grey from yesterday or today’s vivid blue?

Kiernan Shipka: Hailee’s fellow teen actress, who often finds herself on best-dressed lists, wore a Max Mara black above-the-knee dress featuring perforated details etched into pretty stars. Keeping her makeup very minimal and opting for wavy tresses, the ‘Mad Men’ actress styled her look with a Christian Louboutin ‘Sweet Charity’ bag with a gold bow accent and Christian Louboutin ‘Pigaresille’ pumps.

Stana Katic: The ‘Castle’ actress has a pair of the best pins in Hollywood; however, she loves to wear pants, much like her onscreen character. Like at the Billboard Awards, Stana opted for a jumpsuit. The scarlet one-shoulder Max Mara jumpsuit was styled with a Jennifer Behr headband placed on top of her updo. I can’t say I’m crazy about the headband; I guess she was inspired by all the tiaras we saw this weekend at the royal wedding. Kohl-rimmed eyes, nude glossy lips and Saint Laurent ‘Jane’ sandals completed her look. Are you digging the headband?

The 2012 Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards took place at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California yesterday evening.

Cobie Smulders: As one of my favourite breakout stars of 2012, I was happy to see Cobie back on the red carpet for this event. The actress wore a beautiful blush Max Mara dress with ruffle shoulders and a contrast waistband. The look was perfected with a champagne cut-crystal minaudiere, Swarovski jewels, pink glossy lips, Jimmy Choo ‘Trina’ sandals and a quiffed updo.

Viola Davis: Despite looking at least 20 years younger sporting her natural hair towards the end of awards season, Viola showcased a different do at this event. She wore a black strapless Max Mara dress with a satin side-bow detail. I wish she’d opted for something more summery like Cobie. A rich red lip colour, a studded clutch and black strappy Jimmy Choo ‘New Ontario’ sandals completed the look.

Christina Applegate: We had a shot of colour at this event courtesy of Christina. She stood out wearing a hot red Max Mara sleeveless dress with peplum detail. I wish her accessories, which included a Daniel Swarovski black iridescent snakeskin Fresh clutch with silver crystal stripe and black peep-toes, were as enticing as her dress. A braided updo and a red lip colour to match her dress provided the finishing touches.

Chloe Moretz attended the 2012 Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards in Beverly Hills, California, on Tuesday evening.

The young actress, who was honoured at the awards, wore a black satin MaxMara dress.

Ruffled sleeves and an off-the-shoulder neckline add a girly touch to the satin LBD.

Edgy lace-up gladiator heels accessorize the look, providing a stark contrast to the prim dress and matching black headband.

Now that the pink streaks in Chloe’s hair have faded, this look is completely colour-free, right down to her grey manicure.

Softly tousled hair and glowy makeup complete the look.
