Kristen Bell In Alberta Ferretti – Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards

Kristen Bell In Alberta Ferretti - Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards

Kristen Bell took to the red carpet for the Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Wednesday (June 11) in Los Angeles, California alongside Cate Blanchett and Kerry Washington.

Once again I found myself disappointed by Kristen’s look.

After wearing five almost identical black gowns to host the CMT Music Awards last week, here she is opting for the colour once again, this time donning a strapless structured frock from Alberta Ferretti’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection.

First off, the dress is over complicated; secondly, it is doing nothing for her; and black, again, so soon?

What happened to the girl who used to don pretty summery hues all year around?

This all-black all-of-the-time style à la Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Aniston doesn’t suit her. Considering Nicole Chavez is her stylist, who also looks after Rachel ‘Colour Consistent’ Bilson, this blackout comes as even more of a surprise.

Let’s hope there is some colour on the horizon for her next red carpet outing.

Eva Longoria attended the Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Wednesday (June 11) in Los Angeles, California alongside Rose Byrne, Kerry Washington and Cate Blanchett.

The actress stuck to classic black and white, wearing a Max Mara silk crepe sleeveless jumpsuit with black pumps.

It’s a look that is easy and effortless, and, when styled correctly, like she did here, worthy of high praise.

Silver hooped earrings, a rose-gold bracelet, wavy tresses and glossy lips completed her look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Peter Som – Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Peter Som - Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Wednesday (June 11) in Century City, California.

The actress wore a Peter Som Fall 2013 look featuring the signature blurred floral print for the season.

With such a dramatic set of prints, Maggie opted to style the shallow V-neck gown – featuring delicate cross-back straps and a sheer overlay on the skirt – with just a pair of Jennifer Meyer drop earrings and a pink lip shade.

Was minimalist styling the right option here, or would a yellow clutch have been a nice option to bring out the subtle tones in the print?

Cate Blanchett In Chloé – Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards

Cate Blanchett In Chloé - Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards

Cate Blanchett attended the Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Wednesday (June 11) in Century City, California where she collected the 2014 Crystal Award for Excellence in Film.

The actress wore an ultra-feminine piece from Chloé, who do soft hues and pretty, cascading ruffles oh so very well.

Everything about this look is light and effortless, from the dress itself to the styling and the makeup.

If you look a little closer, you can see that Cate broke up the ivory hue with a pair of Lorraine Schwartz brown diamond and turquiose leaf earrings, with a chic updo and gold Jimmy Choo ‘Doodle’ sandals completing the look.

Kerry Washington In Sportmax – Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards

Kerry Washington In Sportmax Fall 2014 - Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards

Kerry Washington attended the Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Wednesday (June 11) in Century City, California where she picked up the 2014 Lucy Award for Excellence in Television.

The actress, who was making her first appearance on the red carpet following the birth of her first child, wore a Sportmax Fall 2014 black V-neck cap-sleeved top and splatter-paint skirt with a sheer hemline, omitting the wide belt to show that she’s already back in perfect shape.

While I’m not a fan of the Tupperware-plasticky clutch, the orange Christian Louboutin ‘Geo’ colourful studded toecap pumps and orange lips are the perfect way to style this look.

Great to see her back to her best.

You may remember that Taylor Schilling wore this same skirt to the Webby Awards last month.
