Hayden Panettiere In Katherine Kidd - 2013 White House Correspondents' Association

Hayden Panettiere attended the 2013 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C., which is affectionately known as the ‘nerd prom’ for journalists.

The ‘Nashville’ starlet certainly put on her prom-queen best last night.

She attempted to defy gravity in her pale-yellow gown from Katharine Kidd’s Spring 2012 collection. The sideless and strapless effect was accomplished with illusion mesh panels.

But the Swarovski crystal beaded-thread strands and the draped-curtain sides, hanging on to this silk tulle pageant-princess dress, were just begging to be pulled off.

I thought the braided updo trend had run its course, but Hayden brought Heidi back to the dinner.

Bohemian gemstone earrings, an Ashlyn’d clutch and a pert red lip polished off this schizophrenic look that read to costume-y for this event.

Natalie Dormer In Marios Schwab - 2013 White House Correspondents' AssociationOur ‘Game of Thrones’ girl, Natalie Dormer, walked the red carpet with ‘Cosmopolitan’ editor-in-chief Joanna Coles at the 2013 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton last night in Washington, D.C.

The British actress wore a Marios Schwab Fall 2011 gown that featured pearl-studded, geometric embellishment at the bodice.

Since she removed the runway’s waist-cinching, harness-inspired belt, the most interesting part of this look actually came to me in the gorgeous emerald Elahn bauble on her finger.

She accessorized further with a black and silver Edie Parker ‘Jean’ clutch and a simple pair of earring studs.

A nude lippie and half-up, half-down hair completed the look, although on this occasion, I wish she had worn her hair all up for a more polished, edgy effect.

Michelle Obama was seated next to Jimmy Kimmel who served as the host of the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, held at the Washington Hotel on Saturday evening.

Unfortunately we only get a glimpse of the top half of Michelle’s Naeem Khan Fall 2011 ballgown, but it’s still enough to make me swoon.

The belle of the ball looked sensational, radiant, stunning….I could go on and on.

Naeem Khan is becoming the First Lady’s go-to designer. She has a love for all things colourful, so no surprises that she selected this strapless paisley organza ballgown.

Carla Amorim ‘Aurora’ rose gold with cronaline and orange sapphires earrings, luscious locks and a nude lip colour completed her look.

Dakota Fanning graced the red carpet for the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, held on Saturday at the Washington Hilton.

Despite an all-too-familiar hairdo, the actress was much improved, wearing a Prada gown which was surprisingly not nude, cream, beige or clutch.

The actress wore a gorgeous embellished baby-blue gown with long sleeves, a plunging neckline and a keyhole detail which was embellished with silver floral embroidery.

She complemented her look with a silver Prada metallic box clutch, a selection of silver Cartier bangles and silver bow-accented Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

Beauty and hair wise, it was business as usual for Datoka.

There was something very familiar about Kerry Washington’s dress as she hit the red carpet at the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, held on Saturday at the Washington Hilton.

The ‘Scandal’ actress wore a coral Calvin Klein dress with long sleeves and a v-neck slit which instantly made me think of Emma Stone’s 2011 Golden Globes gown.

Kerry accessorized with a snakeskin Roger Vivier clutch, Dean Harris statement earrings and rings by Finn.

I would’ve loved this look more had the dress been more fitted, but she looks gorgeous nonetheless.

Her sophisticated look was completed with a clean, simple ponytail, smoky eye makeup and a coral lip shade which matched her dress.
