I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there’s something about red heads and green that is so electrifying – case and point a drop-dead gorgeous Julianne Moore wearing an emerald green Tom Ford silk gown on the red carpet for the “A Single Man” premiere.

The gown is sexy without being to overt. I love the knee-high split which is different, the bold red lips and her cute freckles.

This has to be one of her best ever looks.

I wasn’t blown away by her photocall look of a Tom Ford black Tuxedo, but she does wear it well.

Christopher Kane is definitely the designer of the week.

In the space of 7 days he has dressed 3 stars on the red carpet after not appearing on the red carpet since Emma Watson made her appearance on Letterman months ago.

Diane Kruger was the latest celebrity to fall in love with Kane’s kooky designs.

She wore a Fall 2009 Christopher Kane forest green silk and black velvet dress with an ultra feminine silhouette which has an urban twist. With all its flounce and velvet this dress stay true to a down town feel.

I much prefer the runway heels to her YSL Fall 2009 black suede and elastic Divine ankle boots but other than that this is another home run for Kruger.

Diane attended the photocall earlier in the day wearing a cold shouldered LBD accented with a studded belt.

She also wore a pair of See by Chloé studded ankle boots which I love and must own.

“South Of The Border” Premiere

Finally someone wears a Phoebe Philo’s Celine Resort 2010 look on the red carpet.

Granted the collection doesn’t have gowns or cute cocktail dresses, but I always pictured someone like Chloe Sevigny in the pieces.

Tilda Swinton walked the red carpet with Director Luca Guadagnino at this daytime premiere wearing a camel jacket, white top, black slightly cropped pants and strappy heels as per the runway.

I LOVE the look.

Forget Chloe, only Tilda can pull this off. On anyone else the jacket may have looked too boxy.

“White Material” Premiere

Speaking of class acts, Isabelle Huppert was head-to-clutch-to-toe in YSL.

My Best Dressed Cannes 2009 judge proves that her Cannes run was not a fluke, as she looks elegant wearing a YSL satin tank dress paired with biscotto satin slingback sandals and an emerald satin and sequined Muse clutch.

“Capitalism: A Love Story” Premiere

Tilda Swinton next look was a midnight blue Lanvin Pre-Fall 2009 gathered kimono sleeve dress.

Tilda appears to be a fan of Alber Elbaz designs as she has worn Lanvin on the red carpet many times before, especially on big occasions.

The actress pairs her dress with a Lanvin amber resin necklace and Lanvin suede pumps with metal mirrored heels.

I was just about to say that Italian TV presenter Simona Ventura had done a 180 from her first appearance at this festival when she wore an unfortunateDSquared gown, when I saw the twins.

I would’ve given her 10 out of 10 had she supported the twins.

At this point she gets a 7.

“The Informant!” Premiere

Luciana Damon is usually in the shadow of her famous husband Matt, but on this occasion it’s all about her in her stunning dusky rose gown.

I love unexpected way her gown sparkles with the dark stones sprinkled all over her gown.

Bad Lieutenant: Part Of Call New Orleans

I know many of you just can’t bring yourselves to say anything nice about Paris Hilton, but you have to give credit were credit is due.

I love this look.

She’s seems to love to channel old Hollywood for her red carpet looks lately.

Her hair is elegantly swept to the side in her plunging sequined Jenny Packham gown.

“Accident” Premiere

The Christian Dior Spring 2008 white gown Han Yuqin wore is slightly modified from the runway version, as it has less embellishments and plunge isn’t as deep but it’s still absolutely outstanding gown.

Michelle Ye paired her punky ‘do with a Dolce & Gabbana dress strapless black sequin gown with a rosette detail on the hip.

Kylie Minogue wore to the same dress to the Brit Awards.

“Between Two Worlds” Premiere

Huang Lu’s Moshino Fall 2009 gown has a silver-tone safety pin-embellished ruched centre detail.

The gown is made even more dramatic with a chiffon overlay.

I adore this gown.

“Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans” Premiere

I’m glad this event happened on Friday after I posted my Best Dressed Of The Week poll, because my first reaction to Eva Mendes wearing this Armani Privé Fall 2009 gown was that I liked the dress, but I wasn’t sure if I liked Eva in the dress.

Then as more pictures came in and I saw more angles, I started to appreciate how difficult this gown was to pull off. Especially by someone with Eva’s beautiful curves.

But she does pull it off, and with some ease I might add.

I would’ve never thought of Eva as a Privé girl, but her black gown which appears to be made out of ribbons is exquisite. From the keyhole bodice, to the rosette jeweled detail on her hip.

I’m not a fan of hair pushed back behind her ears, but it’s a small detail when everything else looks so amazing.

Her look was paired with black satin peep-toe pumps.

“Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans” Party

After the premiere Eva headed to the marina where she partied with designer Alberta Ferretti.

It was no surprise that Eva was wearing a gown by the designer.

Eva’s teal chiffon dress with a fringed hem was from Alberta Ferretti’s Spring 2009 collection.

Love the dress, not so crazy about the pale pink heels/black clutch combo.

“Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans” Photocall

This navy polka dotted Christian Dior Resort 2010 sheath dress is actually my favourite look of all 4 looks on this post.

The look is so chic and so classic yet not old fashioned.

I wish she had worn the runway heels, but I’m glad she wore the collar down.

Jaeger-LeCoultre host “Bad Lieutenant Port of Call New Orleans” Dinner

Completing the quartet of stunning looks this weekend was Eva wearing a white Chloé by Hannah MacGibbon Resort 2010 dress.

The white lace dress has long sleeves with a delicate chiffon ruffled plunging neckline.

It’s relaxed, yet not too informal. It’s also summer time fresh, even though we’ll all have to wait for next summer to buy this dress.

Some girls have all the luck.

She paired her maxi dress with a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch, wedges and a Bulgari clutch.

I also spy another headband.

When I saw Tilda Swinton at the “Io Sono L’Amore” Premiere during Venice Film Festival I was a tad disappointed as it felt something was missing from her look.

Then I saw the back her Jil Sander Fall 2009 white dress and I cursed myself for believing for one second that Tilda would ever let me down on the red carpet.

I didn’t recognise the dress until I saw the contrasting navy draped back panel. It was a pleasant and interesting surprise.

Tilda screams elegance from her strawberry blonde quiff to the tips of her Jil Sander Fall 2009 platform heels.

Including her Haider Ackermann look at Cannes Film Festival, this is one of my favourite looks from Tilda this year.

You can purchase Tilda’s stunning dress from the Net-A-Porter US site for $2,345, or the Net-A-Porter International site for £1,250/€1,440.

Earlier that same day Tilda attended the photocall for this movie wearing another Jil Sander look.

This time she was wearing a plain white suit with no surprising contrasting panels.

She looks fabulous as always.

“Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans” Photocall

Eva Mendes was still glowing after her red carpet appearance the previous night, when she arrived at the Excelsior Hotel with her co-star Nicholas Cage for their photocall.

She wore a soft nude J.Mendel dress with black lace sleeves, paired with the Dolce & Gabbana headband she wore to the opening ceremony.

Will Eva become the Paris Hilton of the Venice Film Festival and wear headbands to every occasion?

Eva completed her look with black peep-toes and a stylish Salvatorre Ferragamo gathered leather hobo.

‘Rec2′ Photocall

Manuela Velasco opted for ballet flats with her striped Chanel Spring 2007 mini dress, which we have seen on Katie Holmes.

‘Rec2′ Premiere

I adored Manuela Velasco’s premiere look.

Her nude dress with an embellished bodice reminded me of the many emellished pieces from the Miu Miu Fall 2009 collection.

Manuela did kinda let me down with the black heels – such a safe choice – but the silver clutch perfectly complemented the silver beaded details on her bodice.

Opening Ceremony Dinner

Iris had funnily enough just added this Valentino Spring 2009 Couture strapless dress to her wish list for Britney Spears.

Not sure Brit Brit could pull this off, but Isabella Borromeo looks fabulous in this green gown with a thigh-high spilt.

I love the embellished bodice, but it looks like the foliage around her neckline needs watering as it looks a bit limp.

Barbara Palombelli opted for a Moshino Fall 2009 navy and red floral dress, which is versatile enough to be worn day or night.

The floral appliqué detail on her shoulder are so pretty.

Barbara pairs her dress with classic wooden wedges.

Gisella Marengo would’ve stood out at this event wearing sexy Roberto Cavalli Resort 2009 one-sleeved gown in a gorgeous ocean blue colour.

A silver clutch and a winning smile complete the look.

“Baaria” Premiere

I much prefer Nicole Grimaudo’s modified Gucci Fall 2009 ensemble to the runway version.

Her version is cutier, sassier and I just love her curly bob.

When Jenna Dewan wore this Blumarine Fall 2009, she was oozing sexy appeal.

Even though Italian actress Eliana Miglio is wearing the same strapless aqua ruched dress, she makes it appear more charming than overtly sexy.

September 3rd, 2009

Oh my I totally forgot that the Venice Film Festival was due to start yesterday, so imagine my delight to see Eva Mendes glowing on the red carpet last night for the opening ceremony.

The actress appears to be make-up free wearing a strapless Dolce & Gabbana Resort 2010 red leopard print gown.

It’s a bold choice. I’m not the biggest fan of animal print on the red carpet, but the red really works for me.

In the long shot I thought Eva was wearing sunglasses on the top of her head, but the close up shows she’s actually wearing black head piece adorned with black stones.

The actress is in town to promote her new movie, “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans”, which co-stars Nicholas Cage and Val Kilmer.

Hopefully we will see more of her.

Afef Jnifen always seems to be on the red carpet at these types of events, but I’ve never known what she does.

What she does becomes irrelevant when she walks the red carpet looking this spectacular.

Afef wore a one-shouldered lilac Versace gown embellished on the shoulder and around the bodice.

The detail I love the most is the gathering around her hips. It really gives her a stunning silhouette.

Actress Maria Grazia Cucinotta wore a plunging vibrant blue Roberto Cavalli gown.  We are seeing of this colour on the red carpet and I love it.

The dress is gorgeous with it’s colour and pleated details.

Her look is paired with some exquisite jewels.

Salma Hayek eat your heart out.

Actress Sandrine Bonnaire is also one of the jury members of this festival.

She paired a stunning pair of diamante t-bar heels to complement the diamante strap detail on her white flowing asymmetrical Roberto Cavalli gown.

A silver clutch and diamond earrings completes this beautiful look.

I want to start off my saying I really dislike tattoos.

Italian TV presenter Simona Ventura’s black DSquared gown is all business and that front and party at the back.

It’s like she specially picked this gown to show off her tattoos.

The only thing I like here is her feathered Roger Vivier clutch.
