Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

A group of guys grabbed some stares recently with their sartorial statements at a variety of events. Here, a look at the handsome offerings over the past few days—I couldn’t be more elated to not see a basic black suit in sight.

Channing Tatum: Looking hot and polished, the actor was at the HFPA & InStyle’s 2014 TIFF celebration during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival at the Windsor Arms Hotel. He definitely made that dark, midnight-blue three-piece suit look good.

Josh Lucas: Cutting a sharp profile at the ‘Boychoir’ premiere during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival at Roy Thomson Hall, Josh suited up in a Salvatore Ferragamo dark navy, two-button peak lapel suit, paired with a white button-down shirt, a navy patterned pocket square and brown calf shoes. Here, his decision to go tie-less worked in his favour—as did this stunning blue hue.

Moran Atias In Dolce & Gabbana – Venice Film Festival Closing Ceremony

Moran Atias In Dolce & Gabbana - Venice Film Festival Closing Ceremony

Moran Atias attended the Closing Ceremony of the 2014 Venice Film Festival on September 6 in Venice, Italy.

The actress wore a polka-dot print Dolce & Gabbana dress and Dolce & Gabbana shoes for the big event.

I’m a big fan of the breezy style that Moran brought to a formal occasion and dress. Cocktail rings and stacks of gold bangles are fun and almost boho in nature, and by keeping her hair loose and flowing, she also keeps things less formal than if she’d opted for an updo.

An orange-red lip and simple eye makeup complete her easy-elegance for the night.

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – Variety Studio

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton - Variety Studio

Jennifer Connolly was part of the Variety Studio presented by Moroccanoil at Holt Renfrew during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival on September 6.

For her appearance and interview, the actress wore a black sweater with coral-print and scalloped edge detailing with yellow pants both from the Louis Vuitton Resort 2015 collection.

I love this look on Jennifer. Despite the simple nature of the pieces, there is actually a lot of look going on with the print and the color, but the star pulls it off perfectly, and creates a really nice fashion moment.

Her black pointy-toed shoes and black Louis Vuitton bag are the perfect accessories for this welcome-Fall ensemble.

Slightly smudged eyeliner, nude lips and bronzed cheeks, along with her deep-side parted hair are right on point, as well.

Ahna O’Reilly In Preen & Monique Lhuillier – ‘The Sound and The Fury’ Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Ahna O'Reilly In Preen & Monique Lhuillier - 'The Sound and The Fury' Photocall & Premiere

Ahna O’Reilly was back on the red carpet at the 2014 Venice Film Festival, this time in support of ‘The Sound and The Fury’ on Friday (September 5).

Photocall: Her Preen ‘Christie’ off-the-shoulder black dress with floral embroidery had all the girly charm you could want, especially with that bubblegum lippie, yet the dark colour kept it from venturing too sweet or twee. The Bionda Castana ‘Langley’ sandals would not have been my first (or second) choice, as something more delicate was in order. But from the ankles up, the look was adorable.

Premiere: Vibrantly sweeping onto the scene, the actress impressed in a dramatic Monique Lhuillier Resort 2015 gown with decorative, lace-embroidered sheer overlay through which peeked fairytale-like tulle layers. With her red hair and red lip providing even more impact, Aldo ‘Agrerade’ sandals finished the striking effect. I wasn’t crazy about her earlier Venice premiere look, but this pretty and powerful statement won me over. Do you agree?

January Jones In BOSS – ‘Good Kill’ Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

January Jones In BOSS - 'Good Kill' Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

January Jones returned to the red carpet for the ‘Good Kill’ photocall and premiere, hosted during the 2014 Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy on Friday (September 5).

Photocall: While at the Palazzo Del Casino, the actress selected a BOSS Fall 2014 ivory silk dress with sheer chiffon detailing, contrasted by Casadei black suede wrap-around, lace-up sandals and her adorable wavy long bob. Déjà vu has likely set in already, as this is a repeat feature just worn recently by Caroline Issa at the GQ Men of the Year Awards. Still, it maintained all the subtle chic factor that we saw in its first run.

Premiere: Staying in the light colour palette, January debuted a BOSS fully micro-beaded, custom V-neck column gown, accessorized with on-trend Jack Vartanian black diamond ear climbers and a Le Vian diamond ring. The shimmering, statuesque slinkiness of this gown had me at hello, although I could have done without the beehive updo.

Ashley Greene In Antonio Berardi – ‘Burying The Ex’ Venice Film Festival Premiere

Ashley Greene In Antonio Berardi - 'Burying The Ex' Venice Film Festival Premiere

Following the photocall, Ashley Greene returned to the red carpet for the ‘Burying The Ex’ premiere during the 2014 Venice Film Festival held at the Sala Grande on Thursday (September 4) in Venice, Italy.

I was bowled over by the dramatic nature of her Antonio Berardi Fall 2014 gown, mostly because the actress didn’t play it safe, but also I love how the black woven detailing adds a graphic punch to her organza gown.

Sweeping wavy locks and a striking contrasting red lip top off the regality of the look. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Ashley Greene In Alexander McQueen - 'Burying The Ex' Venice Film Festival Photocall

Ashley Greene is the latest celebrity to descend on Venice Film Festival, where she is promoting her latest movie, ‘Burying The Ex’.

She attended a photocall yesterday afternoon (September 4) wearing an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2014 look.

I’m delighted that her navy and white top and sharp navy trousered look isn’t nude in colour or aging in style.

I like how the top with a white waterfall layer gives a fresh take on a classic style.

Alexandra Daddario In Reem Acra – ‘Burying The Ex’ Venice Film Festival Premiere

Alexandra Daddario In Reem Acra - 'Burying The Ex' Venice Film Festival Premiere

Alexandra Daddario set the red carpet on fire this evening (September 4) for the ‘Burying The Ex’ premiere held at the 2014 Venice Film Festival at Sala Grande in Venice, Italy.

Opting for yet another Reem Acra gown, this striking purple hue looks breath-taking against her pale skin and dark tresses. The gown makes a seductive, yet romantic, impression from the embroidered lace on sheer tulle.

With a gown that’s already eye-catching, she enhanced the look further with amethyst stone earrings and a rich red lip, which plumps up that gorgeous pout.

Are we seeing the birth of another fashion-made-in-heaven combo? Alexandra Daddario and Reem Acra?
