Zooey Deschanel In Valentino – 2013 Vanity Fair Party

Zooey Deschanel joined the star-studded guest list at the 2013 Vanity Fair Party for the Oscars tonight, hosted by editor Graydon Carter, at the Sunset Tower in California.

But, for Hollywood’s biggest evening of the year, the ‘New Girl’ actress’s long-sleeve dress from the Valentino Resort 2013 collection was a bit of a downer.

Even Zooey seemed a bit melancholy.

The look was charming enough, and at least the dusty pink hue and the too-sweet embellishment was brighter than the lookbook version. But despite the sheer chiffon layers, there was a heaviness and a matronly edge to this design.

It all was rather demure and folksy for such a glittery evening.

The highlight of the look was Zooey’s newly cropped haircut, which was parted to the side and curled under. I cannot wait to see how this cute new ‘do looks with one of her signature quirky-cool ensembles.

Leslie Mann In Andrew Gn – 2013 Vanity Fair Party

Leslie Mann walked the red carpet at the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, hosted by editor Graydon Carter at Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, California tonight.

The actress left behind the high glitz and glam of the 2013 Oscars evening for a more subdued, burnt-orange gown with long pouf sleeves from Andrew Gn’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

The designer is known for his embroidery, and the highly embellished bodice was the star of the show here.

The plunging neckline was tacked more conservatively together than the lookbook version of the dress, which was a refreshing departure from more ubiquitous skin-baring red-carpet statements.

Honey blonde waves and minimal makeup completed the look.

This was a serious and sophisticated moment for the ‘This Is 40′ funny girl.

Venus & Serena Williams In Christiane King – 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

It looks like Maria Sharapova wasn’t the only tennis pro to hit the red carpet at the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, as the Williams sisters were also in attendance.

Both sisters wore gowns designed by Christiane King.

The vibrant hues not only complement their skin-tone but their bubbly personalities.

Both ladies are flawless, but I would’ve picked Venus’ two-tone one shoulder dress over Serena’s stunning, yet restrictive, mustard mermaid dress.

Venus accessorized with a Konstantin Kakanias blush suede sunflower evening bag from the Atelier Swarovski Spring 2012 collection, whilst Serena opted for emerald green and gold statement jewels.

Ginnifer Goodwin In Peter Som – 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Ginner Goodwin was among the long list of celebrities at the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in West Hollywood last night.

The petite star wore a black sleeveless Peter Som Fall 2012 organza dress with peplum at the waist.

Unfortunately, too many accessories take away from this beautifully detailed dress.

Someone needs to take away that distracting necklace and mismatched clutch right away.

This dress looks the best when left alone, as seen on the runway.

Kate Beckinsale In Atelier Versace – 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

At last night’s West Hollywood 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Kate Beckinsale skipped her signature strapless gowns in favour of one of the night’s biggest trends: long sleeves.

Kate donned an Atelier Versace gown with bronze and black detailing accented in tulle, with an open back and side cut-outs.

After her show-stopping pink DVF jumpsuit at the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards, I’m not 100% sure if I love this look on her.

It’s more Jlo than Beckinsale, don’t you think?

I guess I’m too used to seeing her in Princess gowns, but she has really been trying to mix things up on the red carpet for the past few events, which is fully appreciated.

Rashida Jones In Elie Saab – 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Elie Saab was the king of Oscar night, as he also dressed Rashida Jones for the 2012 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, taking his tally to eight for the weekend.

The actress wore a dress from the designers Spring 2012 collection.

Her yellow gown with deep v-neckline, subtle pleats, and lace details on the shoulder was accented with a thin leather belt.

Jimmy Choo ‘New Fiery’ platforms and hot pink lip colour complemented her vibrant dress.

This rounds up a very good weekend on the red carpet for Ms Jones, who also looked stunning on the red carpet at the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards.
