Red Carpet Fashion Awards

I was just about to call it a night until Jessica Chastain caught my eye.

The actress dazzled on the red carpet in New York City this evening for the 66th Annual Tony Awards, held at the Beacon Theatre.

Dressed in a nude sheer Marios Schwab Fall 2012 long-sleeve dress, I’m sure this look is going to bring up much debate.

Enriched with Swarovski Elements, this embellished frock could’ve gone two ways:

Jessica could’ve lined the dress losing all the mystery, intrigue and possibly even the details.

Or, she could’ve worn the dress as presented on the runway with the built-in corset for support.

I’m glad she chose the latter.

It may not be to be to everyone’s liking, but I find that Jessica doesn’t take enough risks on the red carpet.

This one paid off for me.

Silver satin Giuseppe Zanotti ankle strap peep-toes completed the look.

Love or loathe?

Here are the rest of the looks from the red carpet at the 2011 Tony Awards, which was held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City last night.

Sutton Foster: The actress took home a Tony Award for ‘Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical’ for ‘Anything Goes’. She opted for an olive strip chiffon strapless Michael Kors gown. Her look was accessorized with Michael Kors gold stiletto sandals with snake chain detail and a bronze python barrel clutch. Fred Leighton jewels an updo completed her look.

Ellen Barkin: The actress was also an award winner, taking home a Tony Award for ‘Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play’ for ‘The Normal Heart’. She is a L’Wren Scott devotee. She nearly always wears classic dresses by the designer, so it’s no surprise to see her wearing a custom look on this special occasion. Her L’Wren Scott black gown with a Chantilly lace overlay was paired with black lace L’Wren Scott shoes and a vintage Cartier clutch.

Lily Rabe: Emerald earrings were added to her Prabal Gurung Spring 2011 gown. Her ivory silk crepe chiffon backless gown with appliqué patched sleeves and a thigh-high split was a bold fashion forward look for this award ceremony. Sergio Rossi heels completed her look.

Best Newcomer Award
I have never featured Jennifer Damiano on my site before, but she caught my eye at the 2011 Tony Awards which was held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City last night.

Firstly, because she instantly reminded me of Anne Hathaway with her brunette locks, porcelain skin and wide smile.

Secondly, because she was luminescent in her Reem Acra Resort 2011 dress.

The canary yellow dress with a beaded overlay has a yellow satin waistband.

A lot of you are not fond of this type of tea-length dress, which is a bit longer on Jennifer than the model, but I can find no fault with this look.

With a wavy updo and red hot lips, Jennifer completed her look with Charlotte Olympia pumps.

Actually I would’ve preferred matching sandals to pumps, but a gorgeous look nonetheless.

Best Dressed Award
Catherine Zeta Jones was a presenter at the 2011 Tony Awards which was held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City last night. Which will explain why didn’t hit the red carpet.

She looked breath-taking wearing an Elie Saab gown which was inspired by the Fall 2011 collection.

The red long sleeve embellished plunging gown had a sexy twist with an exposed back.

It’s so great to see Catherine looking supremely gorgeous.

I’ve always been a great admirer of her flawless style and regal like aura.

On this evidence she should wear Elie Saab more often.

A tight bun and Van Cleef & Arpels completed her look.

Looks Better Than The Model Award
Tammy Blanchard graced the red carpet at the 2011 Tony Awards tonight at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

The actress donned a gorgeous Edition by Georges Chakra Fall 2011 gown.

Her royal blue sequined mermaid gown with a cowl neck and draped back follows the dazzling trend of the week.

Chopard diamond drop earrings added the final touch of bedazzlement to Tammy’s look.
