Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Here are the rest of the looks from the 2012 Tony Awards held in New York City yesterday evening.

Sheryl Crow: The singer wore a gorgeous Marchesa navy embroidered illusion gown. The detail on the bodice is sensational.

Cynthia Nixon: The newly-married actress arrived on the red carpet wearing a Carolina Herrera gown. Her raspberry draped neck gown featured a crystal embellished insert and a red waistband. I would’ve loved the gown had it not been for the red waistband. A darker berry hue would’ve worked better for me to complement the crystals. A light pink clutch, Fred Leighton jewels and lavender peep-toes completed her look.

Judith Light: The actress graced the red carpet wearing a Sophie Theallet chiffon charmeuse scarf gown from the Resort 2012 collection. The Tony- winning actress, for ‘Other Desert Cities’, dazzled with a selection of jewels including a breathtaking necklace which upstaged her gown somewhat. A gold glitter clutch and gold earrings completed her Tony Award-winning look.

Ellen Barkin joined a host of stars on the red carpet yesterday evening for the 2012 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

For the past five years that I have been blogging, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Ellen wear a designer other than L’Wren Scott.

On this occasion she wore a purple Chantilly lace long-sleeved gown from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection.

Fred Leighton jewels, plus a turquoise eel clutch and matching turquoise sandals, both by L’Wren Scott, accessorized her look with a updo and glossy lips providing the finishing touches.

Beth Behrs looked beautiful on the red carpet at the 2012 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City yesterday evening.

The ‘2 Broke Girls’ actress wore a Naeem Khan Spring 2012 gown.

Her sultry red caviar-beaded jersey long-sleeved gown not only had a plunging neckline, but it also had an open back.

With a slick of nude lippie, she completed her look with a black clutch and a high ponytail.

Her clutch isn’t lighting my fire, but everything else is.

Elizabeth A. Davis joined Jessica Chastain and Amanda Seyfried on the red carpet at the 2012 Tony Awards, held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City last night.

The actress selected one of the gowns from Christian Siriano’s Spring 2012 collection.

This collection has been underutilized on the red carpet, so I’m happy for the sighting.

Her modern interpretation of a classic ball gown featured a bodice with feather-like detailing, with a satin sash to define her waist and a dove grey tulle full skirt.

I wish she had opted for an updo instead of a side-swept ponytail, but she looked beautiful nonetheless.

She accessorized with silver jewels and completed her look with pink glossy lips.

After feeling traumatized by Amanda Seyfried’s look on the red carpet at the 2012 Tony Awards, held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City last night, Bernadette Peters injected some much needed glamour to this event.

The actress wore a Donna Karan purple strapless gown, which appeared to be inspired by Look 41 from the Spring 2012 collection.

Her mermaid gown with a tiered hemline and folded detail on the bodice was styled with her signature red ringlets in an updo with tendrils framing her face, David Webb jewels plus a gold box clutch.

Now this is what the Tony Awards is all about.

My heart sank when I saw Amanda Seyfried on the red carpet at the 2012 Tony Awards, held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City this evening.

This look will give me nightmares.

I don’t think I have ever disliked a look worn by Amanda Seyfried, but as the saying goes, “there’s a first time for everything”.

The actress donned a Givenchy Fall 2012 purple slip dress with gold embellished details which was accented with an orange belt.

Seeing this look on someone as gorgeous and flawless as Amanda proves my theory, this collection was always going to be difficult to translate well on the red carpet.

What was she thinking? And the Tony Awards of all occasions.

Apart from those Givenchy sandals, I can’t find one good thing to say about this look.

Can you?

Fred Leighton jewels and an orange Givenchy clutch accessorized her look.
