Moet British Independent Film Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Moet British Independent Film Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a quick look at a few more celebs who joined Carey Mulligan and Marion Cotillard for the 2015 British Independent Film Awards at Old Billingsgate Market on Sunday (December 6) in London, England.

Laura Carmichael: The ‘Downton Abbey’ actress wore a Christopher Kane dress with a trio of silhouettes which glow softly against this black sleeveless velvet mini dress. Styled with an Anya Hindmarch ‘Crisp Packet’ clutch and black sandals, I continue to be excited by Laura’s red carpet looks. Words I thought I would never say a year ago. You may remember that Rowan Blanchard wore this to a Teen Vogue event.

Gemma Chan: The British actress served up contemporary elegance wearing a Roland Mouret gown which I love for the impeccably tailoring and bright blue hue.

Alicia Vikander: The actress wore a beautiful custom Louis Vuitton crystal accented gown styled with LV sandals and a Fine Jewelry ring. Such a shame about the lacklustre makeup.

Carey Mulligan In Gucci – 2015 British Independent Film Awards

Carey Mulligan In Gucci - 2015 British Independent Film Awards

Carey Mulligan attended the 2015 British Independent Film Awards at Old Billingsgate Market on Sunday (December 6) in London, England.

The actress wore a Gucci Spring 2016 emerald, grey and silver lurex geometric jacquard gown featuring an embroidered bird and flower details which brings charisma to the sophisticated silhouette.

Methinks this will have an equal love-hate split.

I’m firmly in the love corner.

Firstly because this is such an unexpected look for Carey and secondly she manages to make it work by shaking off the geek-granny vibe we saw on the runway.

Love or loathe?

Marion Cotillard attended the 2015 British Independent Film Awards at Old Billingsgate Market on Sunday (December 6) in London, England.

The French actress was of course decked out in Dior Couture, but what did surprise me was that I was neither bored or disappointed with this outing.

At times I feel that Marion just doesn’t try hard enough to select better options from Dior — see her Awards season looks for reference — but this sees the brand ambassador moving back towards her awe-inspiring best.

Alicia Vikander In Louis Vuitton – 2014 British Independent Film Awards

Alicia Vikander attended the 2014 British Independent Film Awards held at Old Billingsgate Market on Sunday (December 7) in London, England.

The Swedish actress wore a Louis Vuitton Spring 2015 look featuring a sequinned top and trousers with leather patches on the knee, which made me think of the eyes of the Terminator.

As LV looks go, this is one of the better ones in recent times, probably because it doesn’t have that samey vibe I was getting from recent looks, nor has she worn the collection to death like two people I could mention.

When it came to this look, I recognised it from the feet up. I still can’t get over how god-awful those Louis Vuitton shoes are.

Gemma Chan In Tata Naka – 2014 British Independent Film Awards

Gemma Chan attended the 2014 British Independent Film Awards held at Old Billingsgate Market on Sunday (December 7) in London, England.

The Burberry-loving actress wore a Tata Naka Spring 2015 top and A-line skirt featuring swirled lines and cut-outs adding a fashion-forward twist to this black and white look.

For someone who tends to play it safe, I see this as quite a successful outing outside of her comfort zone. Do you agree?

Styled with black pumps with a gold toecap and a Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch, she amped up the look with plump red lips.

Keira Knightley attended the 2014 British Independent Film Awards held at Old Billingsgate Market on Sunday (December 7) in London, England.

The actress, who has been shunning gowns for a while now, wore a beautiful sleeveless metallic cloque Simone Rocha Spring 2015 dress featuring a fitted bodice and a full skirt given a fashion-forward punch with asymmetric panelling and marabou feather trims.

Her look as always is elegant and refined, with Chanel Fine Jewelry diamond earrings and grey suede pumps complementing her look.

I find this look very intriguing, and I love that her red carpet looks have become quite creative, but some might refer to this as overly fussy.

Which side of the fence are you?

Zawe Ashton In Sarah Baadarani – British Independent Film Awards 2013

Zawe Ashton In Sarah Baadarani - British Independent Film Awards 2013Zawe Ashton was also among the guest list at the British Independent Film Awards 2013, hosted at Old Billingsgate Market in London on Sunday night.

The British star covered up in a long-sleeve Sarah Baadarani crew-neck column gown in a soft, dove-grey shade.

There was hardly the hint of an accessory or jewel to be found here, which mirrored the simple style of the dress. Zawe also kept her swept-back hair and bronzed makeup on the casual side.

With such a minimalistic approach, the details must be spot-on. So, the slight wrinkles permeating the gown were more noticeable than I’d like. I was also wishing for some sort of statement sparkle to define the look.

Lovely or just too lacklustre?
