Mindy Kaling Loves…Bright Colours

Mindy Kaling Loves Bright Colours

Mindy Kaling is the kind of girl we all want to be BFFs with; I do personally because of her humour, charm and quick wit, but also because she shares my love for colour.

While promoting the new season of ‘The Mindy Project’ she made quite a splash colour-wise, opting for preppy, playful pieces in standout hues.

Smart and sexy at the SXSW Film and Music Festival, who could miss her wearing this bold-hued Trina Turk top-and-trouser set, which she styled with mauve heels and a gorgeous statement necklace?

She sparkled while on her way to Jimmy Kimmel wearing a Moods of Norway emerald-green tank top paired with lemon-hued pants, adding blue sandals and Jennifer Meyer jewels for a touch more bling.

While purple might be the colour we crave when fall comes around, the light shade and polka dots give this SiriusXM look a bright and breezy feel. The actress worked the colour in several shades from head-to-toe, including a magenta lip.

Which look do you favour? I have to go with the Kimmel look.

I just love the way the green and yellow complement each other.

America Ferrera In Roland Mouret – ‘Cesar Chavez’ SXSW Premiere

America Ferrera In Roland Mouret - 'Cesar Chavez' SXSW PremiereAmerica Ferrera joined Rosario Dawson at the ‘Cesar Chavez’ SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival premiere, held on Monday (March 10) at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas.

Bringing a gorgeous breath of blue to the red carpet, the actress donned a Roland Mouret ‘Electra’ dress, boasting the designer’s signature folded detailing at the rounded neckline and exposed zipper at the back.

She accessorized the frock with a silver-and-blue embellished Giuseppe Zanotti clutch and a light dusting of silver Jennifer Meyer jewels, along with a breezy-sleek long ponytail and nude makeup.

With such a delicate nod to the styling, her black Saint Laurent platform pumps proved a clunky accompaniment. A lighter, more whimsical sandal would have been preferred.

Rosario Dawson In Peter Som, Diane von Furstenberg & Matthew Williamson – 2014 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival

Rosario Dawson In Peter Som, Diane von Furstenberg & Matthew Williamson - 2014 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive FestivalRosario Dawson has recently been making the rounds at the 2014 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas, where she trotted out a trio of ensembles for the festivities. The trending topics of her three looks? Hot colours and bold prints—and several shades of orange.

Star Power: Innovative Ways To Engage Millennials Q&A: On Friday (March 7) at the Austin Convention Center, Rosario opted for a pumpkin-orange and black Peter Som Fall 2014 dress, featuring an abstract, blurred floral print. Kurt Geiger London Collection ‘Anja’ pumps and black tights completed the ensemble.

‘Joe’ Premiere: Walking on the wild side was easy for the actrss on Sunday (March 9) with this red-orange, leopard-print DVF wrap dress. Black tights and pumps, alongside barely-there makeup, dialled back the impact of those spots.

‘Cesar Chavez’ Premiere: Hitting the Paramount Theatre red carpet on Monday (March 10) in bright orange and blue, Rosario wore a scuba dress with mini peplum waist from the Matthew Williamson Pre-Fall 2014 collection, paired with Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ black pumps. Splashed in a bright, whimsical pattern of parrots, martini glasses, wild mushrooms and fruit vines, this bodycon frock served up sexiness with a smile.

The Matthew Williamson dress easily was my favourite for its flattering silhouette and fascinating jumble of prints.

Emmy Rossum In Andrew Gn – ‘Before I Disappear’ SXSW Photo Op

Emmy Rossum In Andrew Gn - 'Before I Disappear' SXSW Photo Op

Emmy Rossum attended the ‘Before I Disappear’ Photo Op and Q&A session during the 2014 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival at Alamo Ritz on Monday (March 10) in Austin, Texas.

Going from sweet at the Vanity Fair party to sassy in Andrew Gn, the brunette beauty wore a sexy fitted frock from the designer’s Spring 2014 collection.

The forever-classic black dress takes shape with gold-and-white asymmetrical panels serving up a slightly futuristic stance of modern-day chic.

Smouldering eye makeup, black nail polish and a studded pair of Brian Atwood ‘Abell’ ankle-strap sandals completed her look.

If you thought you could predict Emmy’s style, think again. I love that she can give us conservative, fairytale-like and sexy without skipping a beat.

Isabelle Fuhrman In Nonoo – ‘The Wilderness of James’ SXSW Film Festival Photo Op

Isabelle Fuhrman In Nonoo - 'The Wilderness of James' SXSW Film Festival Photo Op

Isabelle Fuhrman attended ‘The Wilderness of James’ Photo Op and Q&A during the 2014 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival held at AMC Theater at VCC on Sunday (March 9) in Austin, Texas.

The young actress selected a Nonoo Pre-Fall 2014 blue-and-white jumpsuit featuring illusion panels in the top and trousers.

Her playful, relaxed look is perfect for this premiere with plenty of youthful flare, styled with a selection of gold jewels and black pumps.

The pants perhaps needed to be an inch shorter to hit at the ankle like the model, plus I also prefer the models blue pumps, but otherwise this is a great look.

Kristen Bell In Naeem Khan – ‘Veronica Mars’ SXSW Film Festival Premiere

Kristen Bell In Naeem Khan - ‘Veronica Mars’ SXSW Film Festival Premiere

Kristen Bell joined co-star Krysten Ritter for the premiere of ‘Veronica Mars’ during the 2014 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday (March 8) in Austin, Texas.

Also going down the colourful beaded route, the actress wore a Naeem Khan Spring 2014 Garden of Paradise beaded cropped T-shirt with a black taffeta ruffled skirt, which I loved on the runway but don’t find myself loving on Kristen.

I’m not sure if it’s the proportions, or just the feeling that this type of look doesn’t suit her style, but I’m not feeling it at all.

Black Jimmy Choos, a complementary lip colour and a bun completed her look.
