2013 Telva Fashion Awards

2013 Telva Fashion Awards

The 2013 Telva Fashion Awards took place at the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid, Spain yesterday evening, with some of our favourite Spanish beauties taking to the red carpet to celebrate the event’s 50th anniversary.

Nieves Alvarez: The model, who was the host of the event, set the glamour bar very high wearing an Emilio Pucci one-of-a-kind bedazzled beaded long-sleeved open-back gown styled with an oversized Swarovski clutch and Suarez jewels.

Juana Acosta: The actress looked breathtaking wearing an Oscar de la Renta Resort 2014 black floral bubble peplum top and black silk-faille ballskirt, styled with a contrasting red Louboutin clutch and gold jewels. This was my favourite of the night.

Norma Ruiz: The actress opted for an ethereal look, wearing a Donna Karan Atelier one-shoulder gown with a lattice bodice and free-flowing ruffled cascading skirt, which she styled with Jimmy Choo embellished sandals, a matching Swarovski clutch and Yanes jewels. I love the smoky-eye/nude-matte-lip combo here.

Blanca Suarez In Zuhair Murad – ‘Intimissimi’ Flagship Store Opening

Blanca Suarez In Zuhair Murad - 'Intimissimi' Flagship Store Opening

Blanca Suarez helped open a new ‘Intimissimi’ flagship store in Madrid, Spain yesterday evening.

The actress smouldered wearing a Zuhair Murad Fall 2013 black velvet dress with a sheer polka-dot yoke and part-sleeves, but she let herself down with her choice of bra.

Considering that she was promoting a lingerie brand, she should’ve worn a strapless bra with this look.

Snakeskin Aquazzura ‘Amazon Roccia’ sandals and a selection of jewels accessorized her look, with a braided updo and smoky eyes completing her look.

Does the visible bra totally put you off?

Nieves Alvarez In Gucci – ‘Naty Abascal’ Book Presentation

Nieves Alvarez In Gucci - 'Naty Abascal' Book Presentation

Nieves Alvarez hosted the ‘Naty Abascal’ book presentation at the Hotel Villa Magna in Madrid, Spain yesterday evening.

The model wore a Gucci Fall 2013 look consisting of an olive top and black jacket with net trousers featuring embellishments and feather appliqués, immediately drawing your attention.

We have seen so many of the embellished, feather-festooned finale gowns from this collection that I almost forgot that there was a trousered piece in the mix.

Nieves looks impeccable as always, but my curiosity has me wondering how this outfit would look without the jacket. Does the top half of the trousers feature solid black pants or are they embellished all the way through?

Giving her Manolos a break, Nieves styled her look with black Gucci sandals, a Jimmy Choo clutch and Carrera y Carrera jewels.

Nieves Alvarez In Christian Dior – Woolmark’s ‘Campaña por la Lana’ Campaign Promotion

Nieves Alvarez continued her promotional efforts for Woolmark’s ‘Campaña por la Lana’ campaign in Madrid, Spain.

The model this time wore a cable-knit look from Christian Dior’s Fall 2013 collection featuring a high-neck sweater with a high-waist skirt featuring a draped detail on the hip.

If the top appears a tad bulkier on Nieves this would be due to her again wearing the look with a black turtleneck with thumbholes.

Manolo Blahnik black pumps completed the look again.

Nieves Alvarez In Stéphane Rolland Couture - 2013 Marie Claire Prix de la Moda Awards

Following her chic daytime look, Nieves Alvarez took glamour to another level while attending the 2013 Marie Claire Prix de la Moda Awards held at the Residence of France in Madrid, Spain yesterday evening.

The model and Solo Moda host wore a Stephane Rolland Spring 2013 Couture gown featuring a white body and a pewter sequined skirt with black satin panels and a spectacular train.

Wearing an appropriate amount of jewels courtesy of Chopard, which didn’t overpower her breathtaking gown, Nieves styled her look with a Jimmy Choo clutch and Stuart Weitzman sandals, with her hair swept up into a side-parted updo and kohl-rimmed eyes and a soft-pink lip colour completing her look.

We kinda lost faith in Stephane Rolland following Paz Vega’s look during Cannes Film Festival, but this look puts the designer firmly back on the map.

Nieves Alvarez In Gucci - Woolmark's 'Campaña por la Lana' Campaign Unveiling

Earlier today, Nieves Alvarez was on hand to unveil Woolmark’s ‘Campaña por la Lana’ campaign in Madrid, Spain.

The Campaign for Wool is a global endeavour initiated by its patron, the Prince of Wales, in order to raise awareness amongst consumers about the unique, natural and sustainable benefits offered by wool.

Nieves showcased just how wool can be worn stylishly while keeping warm, wearing a Gucci Pre-Fall 2013 look which consisted of a grey merino-wool sweater worn with a black turtleneck with thumbholes to help keep the sleeves down and hands warm.

The ladylike flourish came via the grey-and-white flannel-wool wrap skirt with a cascading ruffle from the peplum waist, which was accented with a patent-leather buckle belt and styled with black Manolo Blahnik pumps.
