Union De Actores Awards 2018 Red Carpet Roundup

Texture and bold prints were popular styles at the Union de Actores Awards 2018 on Monday (March 12) in Madrid, Spain. Lovely ladies joined Penelope Cruz.

Juana Acosta: The Colombian actress struck a pose in a Johanna Ortiz gown. It was brimming with dark romance from the deep colour palette and full sleeves. Jimmy Choo shoes and clutch played up the mood while the slit down the front added a sensual undercurrent.

Elena Anaya: Showing some leg, the ‘Wonder Woman’ actress donned a Carmen March frock. I fear that many will describe this as a garbage bag dress given the textural quality of the fabric. She carried a #MasMujeres red fan. Like #MeToo, it helps support equality for women in cinema.

2018 Goya Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The 2018 Goya Awards on Saturday (February 3) in Madrid, Spain saw more stars in attendance in addition to Maribel Verdu, Nieves Alvarez, Penelope Cruz, and Goya Toledo.

Juana Acosta: I was swept away by this breathtaking Pedro del Hierro off-the-shoulder, navy gown that translated with such classic elegance on Juana. I love the textural intrigue, too, with the point d’espirit effect. Swarovski jewels and a Jimmy Choo clutch completed the glamorous picture.

Mónica Cruz: The illusion effect via side and back cutouts of this Ruben Hernández lace gown didn’t featured the most flattering placement—and also seemed far too dated.

Actors & Actresses wear the same suit at the 2018 Feroz Awards

Barbara Santacruz, Gema Galan and Alba Flores

While looking through the images from last night’s (January 22) 2018 Feroz Awards in Madrid, Spain, I noticed that several of the actors and actresses were wearing the same suit.

This instantly took me back to my Golden Globes Black Dress Code post, because many of you had suggested that the’Times Up’ movement at Globes would’ve been more impactful had everyone worn the same look.

The look at the Feroz Awards was created by the artist Ernesto Artillo; representing a female body painting in various strokes .

It is an artistic project called ‘The Woman I Lead Out’, with which the artist aims to bring out of the darkness those people, famous or anonymous, who openly declare themselves feminists, to take away their vindication, showing it without words.

Even though some of the suits are different, the message remains the same.

23rd Jose Maria Forque Awards

The 23rd edition of the Jose Maria Forque Awards were held on Saturday (January 13) in Zaragoza, Spain, where the dress code was quite varied among its attendees.

Goya Toledo: Wearing her favoured designer, Elie Saab, Goya relied on the intricate embroidery of the bodice to add a sense of glamour to the gown that was quite neutral in colour. Embellished accessories attempted to add a sense of sparkle to the look, but she could have done without the ribbon choker. We expect her to wear Elie Saab at the Goya Awards on February 3, so I am looking forward to what she brings to the red carpet there.

Juana Acosta: Even though we’ve seen Tilda Swinton rock this Chanel Fall 2017 jumpsuit, I didn’t mind its second showing here. Opting for a girly-chic approach, she styled the classic-cool piece with a ribbon ponytail whilst celebrating its cropped proportions that showed off her Jimmy Choo sandals.

Dafne Fernandez: I wanted to like this Fernando Claro suit, but it was missing some of the polished structure that makes these menswear-inspired looks so sleek and smart. The taupe colour was also a bit bland, especially with her shoe choice. Not even the brassy Jimmy Choo clutch could enliven it.

Nieves Alvarez In Dolce & Gabbana – Vogue x Manolo Blahnik Exhibition

I was relieved to see Nieves Alvarez showcasing her supermodel style for the Vogue x Manolo Blahnik Exhibition in Madrid on Tuesday (November 28), following her unfortunate Gucci look last week.

Nieves delivered a masterclass in evening glamour wearing a Dolce & Gabbana sequin dress from the Fall 2017 collection.

Overlaid with light-reflecting sequins and crystal accents that ensured a head-turning impact, the look was styled with Manolo Blahnik metallic pumps and Bulgari jewels.

I wouldn’t have even minded the crown on this occasion, as this sees her back to her perfect best.
