Red Carpet Fashion Awards

The Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards

The Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards took place at the Platea Restaurant on Monday (July 7) in Madrid, Spain. Here’s a look at five lovely ladies who caught my eye.

Dafne Fernandez: As you know I have had a long-time crush on Dafne’s style. The Spanish actress wore a gorgeous Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2014 frock with a romantic, preternaturally pretty, simple design rendered in gauzy silk georgette in a fluttering silhouette with a deep V-neck and double slits in the skirt. The look was styled with burnt-orange Roger Vivier pumps, gold jewels and a luscious red lip.

Celia Freijeiro: The actress certainly stood out in her incredibly chic Roksanda Ilincic colour-block patchwork bouclé wool dress from the designer’s Spring 2013 collection. Adding one more colour into the mix, she opted for coral peep-toes, with a black clutch rounding out her look

Natalia de Molina: I almost didn’t recognise Natalia with her new red hair and blunt bangs. Opting for a pink and black frock with a chiffon wrap-layered skirt, this look is more fun and in tune with the spirit of the magazine.

Nieves Alvarez In Blumarine - MAC Makeup Catwalk

Nieves Alvarez struck a fierce pose at the M.A.C. Makeup Catwalk held at the Italian Embassy yesterday (June 26) in Madrid, Spain.

The model wore a black leather pencil skirt and a sequined, geometric white tee from Blumarine’s Spring 2014 collection. She paired the look with sexy Zuhair Muard sandals and a black Alexander McQueen clutch.

Despite the simple ‘pencil skirt and tee’ nature of this ensemble, the fabrication takes it to the next level, and as usual, Nieves looks superb.

Her smokey eyes, red lip and manicure and lust-worthy blowout complete Nieves’s sultry-but-chic look.

Nieves Alvarez In Elie Saab - Yo Dona Awards

Nieves Alvarez attended the ‘Yo Dona Awards’ held at Zarzuela Hippodrome on Tuesday (June 24) in Madrid, Spain.

If high-end glamour was her M.O. she totally nailed the look, wearing an Elie Saab Fall 2014 burgundy gown featuring a V-neckline and sheer skirt rendered in a waterfall of tonal sequins.

The look was styled with gold Jimmy Choo sandals, an Elie Saab black clutch and Bulgari jewels.

I’ve really missed Nieves on the red carpet and this is why – flawless from head to toe. This is the only look which has really excited me all week.

Eugenia Silva In Delpozo - Yo Dona Awards

Eugenia Silva attended the ‘Yo Dona Awards’ held at Zarzuela Hippodrome on Tuesday (June 24) in Madrid, Spain.

Wearing a local brand, the model donned a Delpozo Spring 2014 dress featuring appliqué embellishments on the shoulders of the ruched tulle bodice, with a sheer waist giving the illusion of separates, and a multi-tiered full floral skirt.

The unique look was styled with the same gold open-toe Delpozo slingbacks with an exaggerated bow detail at the ankle which we saw on the runway, plus a pair of drop earrings.

Everything else, including her hairstyle, was kept simple.

On most this would’ve overwhelmed and become tent-like; however, I think Eugenia managed to pull off quite a complicated look.

Do you agree?

Nerea Garmendia In Editions by Georges Chakra - Yo Dona Awards

Nerea Garmendia attended the ‘Yo Dona Awards’ held at Zarzuela Hippodrome on Tuesday (June 24) in Madrid, Spain.

Ravishing in red, the actress wore an Editions by Georges Chakra Fall 2013 one-shoulder gown featuring point d’esprit asymmetrical panels amping up the sultry appeal.

A gunmetal-grey L.K. Bennett clutch, Jimmy Choo pumps and Rebecca jewels rounded out her look, but it’s the hair and makeup, especially that red lip, which leave me breathless.

You may remember that Carla Gugino wore this same gown to the 2013 Emmy Awards.
