Hong Chau In Rodarte – 2018 SAG Awards

I have been enjoying Hong Chau’s red carpet appearances and seeing how she has fun with fashion.

At the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) the ‘Downsizing’ actress proved her fashion credentials with a Rodarte Spring 2018 dress.

The runway version had a distinct ethereal, flower child look, but I was in favor of how she evoked a glamorous mood with her styling.

Stuart Weitzman’ Nudist’ sandals, Irene Neuwirth jewels and red lipstick played off the pale yellow lace.

The raised, softly frilled neckline also framed her radiant smile.

Samira Wiley In Tadashi Shoji – 2018 SAG Awards

Samira Wiley attended the 2018 SAG Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (January 21).

The ‘Orange is the New Black’ actress wore a striking Tadashi Shoji Spring 2018 gown, and goodness, did she wear it!

This celestial print is so wholly unique and fun while also being quite sophisticated and Samira brings it to life beautifully.

A big hoo-rah to her beauty team, as well, as her dramatic lashes and raspberry lip are the perfect beauty choices for the sophisticated but fun look.

Lupita Nyong’o In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2018 SAG Awards

Lupita Nyong’o was one of the presenters at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) in LA.

We typically see the actress in jubilant colours, but I actually didn’t miss any of those bright hues in this majestic, liquid-silver Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 Couture design.

The drama was delivered in the feathered overlay skirt that floated away from the column dress to add a spirit of ethereal whimsy.

Sparkling earrings and metallic makeup rounded out the elegant look.

Greta Gerwig In Bottega Veneta – 2018 SAG Awards

Greta Gerwig was one of the beauties at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

The ‘Lady Bird’ director looked sharp in an ochre yellow Bottega Veneta Spring 2018 gown.

The heavy surface embellishment has a tougher feel than some of the more whimsical looks she has donned of late, but she carries it off with aplomb.

The details are what make this feel special, namely, the cut-out on the back, the multicoloured Irene Neuwirth earrings and the fuchsia lipstick.

Laura Dern In Christian Dior Couture – 2018 SAG Awards

Laura Dern joined the ‘Big Little Lies’ cast at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) in Los Angeles, California.

The Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie nominee was outfitted in a Christian Dior Fall 2017 Couture dress.

My inclination is that this would have been better suited to a performance piece where we could see the fringe in motion — like we saw on the runway.

I’m afraid that the details on the dress will largely be lost in static photos.

Of course, I am sure many will say they’ve seen enough of the sheer fabric and the visible briefs already.

Reese Witherspoon In Zac Posen – 2018 SAG Awards

Reese Witherspoon was a vision in emerald green at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) in LA.

I will go on record saying that this Zac Posen gown is one of her best looks to date.

Not only was the off-the-shoulder, flutter-sleeve design a more unexpected silhouette for the actress, it simply oozed with old-Hollywood elegance done up in a thoroughly modern, romantic way.

I love how the tone-on-tone panels created such a flattering shape throughout the dress to really elongate and celebrate Reese’s figure.

Gismondi 1754 earrings were a striking way to complete the look, especially as they received plenty of time in the spotlight thanks to Reese’s glossy, side-swept waves.

Brie Larson In Gucci – 2018 SAG Awards

Brie Larson returned to the red carpet at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) in LA with sparkle to spare.

We’ve seen a few mega-embellished looks tonight, and there is no denying that Gucci glitz and glam was alive and well in this sequin and crystallized gown from the label.

But, here, the embellishment took on a lovely sense of charming femininity—complete with the pouf sleeve and crystallized bow for an added flourish of girly appeal.

I like how effortless Brie’s styling was in contrast to the rich radiance of the dress. Side-parted waves and the whiff of metallic teal eye shadow were such a modern way to wrap up the look.
