Gwendoline Christie In Vivienne Westwood Couture – 2017 SAG Awards

I don’t believe that the SAG Awards is the “less serious” date on the awards season calendar, but I do believe it can be a great time to take a risk.

Gwendoline Christie was one of the few to opt for a trouser-ed look for the event on Sunday (January 29), but unfortunately, like most who opted for trousers – excluding Evan Rachel Wood – this Vivienne Westwood Couture jumpsuit fell flat.

Even with the myriad of sequins and cinched in waist the look felt cumbersome and ill-fitted.

Natalia Dyer In Miu Miu – 2017 SAG Awards

Natalia Dyer, co-recipient of the ‘Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series Award’ for ‘Stranger Things’, took my breath way while gliding down the red carpet at the 2017 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 29) in LA.

Her striking red Miu Miu gown was an exquisite choice, with so many scintillating elements including those contrasting floral-motif embroideries on the neckline for an instant flourish of femininity.

This standalone piece required nothing more than a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood heels and Jacob & Co. jewels.

One for my ‘best of the night’ list.

Ellie Kemper In Wai Ming – 2017 SAG Awards

It was double delight upon sight of Ellie Kemper at the 2017 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 29).

Not only was she wearing my favourite colour: electric blue; but she also wearing my winter favourite velvet.

This fabric may seem like a strange choice on a sunny LA afternoon, but this Wai Ming gown oozes an essence of classic-meets-modern ladylike style.

Meryl Streep In Valentino – 2017 SAG Awards

Meryl Streep looked blissful at the 2017 SAG Awards in LA on Sunday (January 29).

The ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’ actress wore a dress from the Valentino Spring 2017 collection.

This was a light and ethereal creation, that glided down the red carpet.

The subtle bird pattern and coordinating accessories, resulted in a joyful look, perfectly suited for the legendary actress.

Nicole Kidman In Gucci – 2017 SAG Awards

Nicole Kidman attended the 2017 SAG Awards in LA on Sunday (January 29).

The ‘Lion’ actress, who is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for the film, was the main attraction on the red carpet. But was it for the right reasons?

Nicole, historically, gets it really right or really wrong, but we’re not sure where to place this Gucci dress. The parrot detail on the shoulders are slightly too costume, the green washes her out, and we’re not even sure if we like the drape cut of this dress either.

So what’s right with it? Her hair and makeup for starters, and the plunging neckline, and the fact that we never have to see it again maybe?

Are you thumbs up, or thumbs down with this look?

Sofia Vergara In Zuhair Marad – 2017 SAG Awards

Sofia Vergara turned heads 2017 SAG Awards in LA on Sunday (January 29).

The ‘Modern Family’ actress wore midi length dress from the Zuhair Murad Spring 2017 collection.

This is this complete opposite of what we’ve come to expect from Sofia, and it’s a welcome change.

I love the fit and the playful, but not too girlish appeal.

Would you have preferred a longer length? Or do you just welcome this drastic change with open arms?

Lorraine Schwartz jewels completed her look.
