Kaley Cuoco In Vera Wang - 2014 SAG Awards

Kaley Cuoco also attended the 2014 SAG Awards, held on Saturday evening (January 18) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

Newly married, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ starlet was perhaps still channeling wedding-day bliss in a dove-grey, strapless mermaid gown by Vera Wang.

The classic bustier neckline cascaded into hand-draped silk tulle detail, accented by large bows, and a silk organza pleated skirt.

She accessorized with a metallic Ferragamo clutch, Lorraine Schwartz statement earrings and bracelet, and Jimmy Choo ‘Raven’ platform heels.

While this was undeniably a fairytale dress, she edged up the ensemble with a dark, moody manicure, kohl-rimmed, smoky blue eyes and long ombre waves.

Too much, or just enough?

Juliette Lewis In Vivienne Westwood Gold Label - 2014 SAG Awards

Juliette Lewis joined a host of other stars at the 2014 SAG Awards, held on Saturday evening (January 18) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

The ‘August: Osage County’ actress has lately been on a red-carpet roll, winning us over with her fashion selections. Tonight, she hit a slight snag in a Vivienne Westwood Gold Label gown.

The petrol-blue silk design, featuring a draped neckline and mock bustle back, was printed in an array of multicolour flowers. She paired the dress with pink and green gemstone drop earrings, a gold geometric box clutch and Bionda Castana metallic heels.

While I appreciate her willingness to take risks and wear a bold hue and print, I just couldn’t get on board with this look. Her styling didn’t increase my affection, either, as her hair looked like it was straight out of a period drama.

Was this a misstep for you, as well?

Laura Carmichael In Vionnet - 2014 SAG Awards

Laura Carmichael also took to the red carpet at the 2014 SAG Awards, held on Saturday evening (January 18) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ actress opted for an asymmetrical, draped design from Vionnet’s Spring 2014 collection.

On this occasion, I’m glad she veered from the more progressive runway version of this glittery, soft metallic-gold dress, skipping the distracting white shirt worn underneath.

She further glamorized the gown with a slate-grey Lauren Merkin ‘Lucca’ oval box clutch, Jerome C. Rousseau black strappy sandals and sparkling Rona Pfeiffer statement jewels, including a sizable wrist cuff, cocktail ring and long bauble pendant earrings.

A spit-slick updo and neutral makeup completed the look.

Mindy Kaling In David Meister - 2014 SAG Awards

Mindy Kaling attended the 2014 SAG Awards, held on Saturday evening (January 18) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

We saw many shades of blue on the red carpet, and ‘The Mindy Project’ funny girl added to the mix in her midnight-navy David Meister cowl-neck gown.

The classically draped design was cinched in with a contrasting belted detail, creating a slinky silhouette.

She completed the look with pops of shine via gold bangle bracelets and Jennifer Fisher earrings, along with a Jerome C. Rousseau clutch.

Malin Akerman In Naeem Khan - 2014 SAG Awards
Malin Akerman joined her fellow actors on the red carpet of the 2014 SAG Awards in Los Angeles tonight.

The ‘Trophy Wife’ star wore a striking beaded Naeem Khan gown from the Spring 2014 collection.

The gown is a visual masterpiece, existing somehow in between a tribal print and something art deco-inspired, and Malin chose Jimmy Choo ‘Greta’ sandals, a black clutch, cocktail ring and simple black stud earrings to accompany the statement-making gown.

A messy updo, bronze makeup, heavy eyelashes and nude lips are the perfect beauty accents to top off the glitzy look.

Emma Thompson In 1930s William Vintage – 2014 SAG Awards

Emma Thompson laughed her way down the red carpet of the 2014 SAG Awards in Los Angeles tonight (January 18).

The nominee and ‘Saving Mr. Banks’ star wore a simple 1930s William Vintage gown with a beaded bird applique detailing on the shoulder.

And perhaps her biggest fashion statement of the night are the Christian Louboutin ‘Toboggan’ Rose gold glitter d’orsay flats–after all, who can forget her comedic Louboutin throwing episode at the Golden Globes?–clearly, she was ready for comfortable feet this time around!

A Lauren Merkin ‘Lucca’ clutch and silver earrings are the perfect accent to the look, while mauve lips, brown-rimmed eyes and glossy, blonde locks round things out.

Sure you can call the whole thing a big eccentric, but it’s perfectly Emma, and I love it all for her.
