2014 Pride of Britain Awards Red Carpet Roundup

2014 Pride of Britain Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a quick roundup of a few other notables who attended the Pride of Britain Awards held at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Monday (October 6) in London, England.

Alesha Dixon: The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge opted to flip the script, wearing a suit instead of a dress. The Ong-Oaj Pairam printed suit with leather patches was one of the sexiest looks on the red carpet despite all the attention-seeking plunging necklines and thigh-high slits.

Rachel Stevens: The singer, who hasn’t aged a day since her S Club 7 days, wore a David Koma Fall 2014 LBD, with the designer’s signature leather detailing adding a layer of sex appeal to the look. I perhaps would’ve been more excited about this look had she taken the dress up a few inches, but I do love her accessories, including a silver Anya Hindmarch ‘Crisp Packet’ clutch and teal-green Jimmy Choo pumps. You may remember that Jessica Alba wore a similar look to the Spike TV’s ‘Guys Choice’ awards.

Kara Tointon: The actress wore a signature lace Lover ‘Libra’ high-neck cap-sleeved frock which doesn’t feel quite right for the occasion, which is surprising considering she usually serves up high glamour on every occasion. I also can’t get past the makeup in this instance, which is making her appear rather ghostly.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini attended the Pride of Britain Awards held at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Monday (October 6) in London, England.

The ‘X Factor’ judge wore a striking MT Costello Spring 2015 lace gown in a rich blue hue with delicate embroidery.

I was quite taken with the look until I saw that it was open back, revealing that giant rose tattoo on her lower back.

Does the back tattoo put you off?

Silver jewels including on-trend ear cuffs, sleek tresses and glossy lips rounded out her look.

Abbey Clancy attended the Pride of Britain Awards held at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Monday (October 6) in London, England.

While not always a fan of Abbey’s attention-seeking choices, I have to say this figure-skimming black Anthony Vaccarello for Versus Versace Spring 2014 dress with its cutaway leg and an appliquéd nude stretch-tulle panel at one side is finally on the right side of sexy and tasteful.

Her look is perfectly pulled together by a Versus belt with a gold lion head, and simple black Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps.

The only thing not working for me here is her diamond jewels. Gold would’ve been much preferred.

2013 Pride of Britain Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of the good, the bad and the ugly at the 2013 Pride of Britain Awards held at Grosvenor House in London yesterday evening. I will let you decide who belongs in which category.

Tess Daly: The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ host wore an Emilio Pucci Fall 2013 LBD featuring a sexy side slit, sheer sleeves and slash inserts. Possibly the first to get her footwear right on this red carpet, she added gold-metallic pumps to her look. I love her golden waves, but frown upon the suitcase-sized clutch she opted for. You may remember that Kelly Rowland wore this same dress back in January.

Katherine Jenkins: I was shocked to see Katherine not wearing a gown. Instead, she selected an eggplant Lanvin one-shoulder dress styled with conservative black pumps.

Sarah Harding: The former Girls Aloud singer sparkled in a gold short-sleeved gown featuring sheer embellished panels styled with a gold clutch and chic updo. I really liked the gown until the back revealed her ‘Don’t be Bitter. Glitter’ tattoo.

Christine Bleakley attended the Pride of Britain Awards held at Grosvenor House in London yesterday evening without fiancé Frank Lampard.

The TV host wore a Roland Mouret ‘Fiore’ black-and-white gown from the Fall 2013 collection.

It’s a truly elegant piece tailored for a lean silhouette accented with structural folds and sleek silk panels.

A black glitter Gucci clutch, silver jewels and glossy side-swept waves perfected her look.

Kimberly Wyatt attended the Pride of Britain Awards held at Grosvenor House in London yesterday evening alongside her former Pussycat Dolls bandmate Nicole Scherzinger.

Looking très tragique, the TV host wore a Julien Macdonald Spring 2012 frock.

This sliced-and-diced dress, which looks like it could be caught in her underwear, worked on the runway but didn’t translate in any positive way on the red carpet.
