2015 Oscars & Vanity Fair Party Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Oscar men

The men were out in force at the 2015 Oscars and the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where there was plenty of handsome inspiration to go around from a fine group of fellows.

Jared Leto: Getting the evening started on a non-traditional note, the actor and musician was every bit the unorthodox Academy Awards dresser in his baby-blue Givenchy tux, accented by a white bowtie and white lug sole shoes. He let his hair down literally and made no excuses for it, saying that the Oscars was his going-away party for his locks. I wonder if the beard was also included in that party. While no one could pull this off like Jared, between the mane and the male pastels, this was verging on almost too much too handle.

Chris Pine: A stark contrast to Jared, Chris went for the all-out traditionally classic route and suited up in a Giorgio Armani black double-breasted peak-lapel tuxedo. It was impeccable and goes to show what transformative power a well-tailored tux can have.

David Oyelowo: Looking as if he was inspired by the red carpet itself, the ‘Selma’ actor dressed to impress in a crimson Dolce & Gabbana three-piece tuxedo word with #TackleEbola handcrafted pin by Jason of Beverly Hills. He does a great job pulling off this colour, yet I’m not completely sold on the satiny look of the vest and bowtie underneath.

Models @ The 2015 Oscar Parties

Models @ The 2015 Oscars Parties

As always, there were plenty of models on hand to provide the glamour at the Oscar parties on Sunday (February 22).

Alessandra Ambrosio: I was surprised the model didn’t jump on the sheer train; instead she selected a glamorous red gown from the Atelier Versace Spring 2015 collection. This brand of sexiest from Alessandra I can totally get on board with.

Poppy Delevingne: The British model wears a lot of Pucci frocks, having a close relationship with the designer Peter Dundas, so I was surprised no one informed her that Natasha Poly had already worn this frock. Poppy made a great impact styling the look with a choker and deep plum lip.

2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Red Carpet Roundup

Vanity Fair Party

Here is an quick roundup from the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, which took place on Sunday (February 22).

Jane Fonda: The actress shows us that Zuhair Murad doesn’t always spell tacky. This Spring 2015 Couture jumpsuit is divine and she is working it like no other. Kudos to her. Jimmy Choo ‘Creole’ pumps and a Rauwolf clutch accessorized her look.

Regina King: This Nicolas Jebran gown won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I love the artful colours on this design. I don’t, however, like the illusion neckline. Not close enough to her skin tone.

Leslie Mann: Like Naomi Watts, Leslie went the white suiting route, layering up with a selection of gold Neil Lane jewels the look probably didn’t really require so much of.

Bee Shaffer In Dolce & Gabbana and Anna Wintour In John Galliano for Maison Margiela – 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Graydon Carter - Arrivals

Bee Shaffer and Anna Wintour attended the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday (February 22) in Beverly Hills, California.

With London Fashion Week and the Oscars clashing for the first time, Anna picked fashion’s biggest night, missing the Burberry Prorsum show for the first time.

Bee Shaffer: Sticking to her favourite Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana, Bee usually does a big ball gown but this floral-print was striking enough with a rich mix of contrasting hues.

Anna Wintour: The editor-in-chief of American Vogue wore a beautiful lavender fog haute couture gown created especially for her by John Galliano for Maison Margiela. She has been a great supporter of the designer before and during his comeback and he repays the favour in this beautifully feminine exquisite creation.

Jessica Chastain In H&M Conscious Collection – 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Jessica Chastain In H&M Conscious Collection - 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Jessica Chastain attended the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday (February 22) in Beverly Hills, California.

Going from high-end in Givenchy Couture, she wore high street in the form of this H&M Conscious Collection dress to the party.

The white beaded number with a rise-and-fall hemline is a beautiful look, especially when styled with Jimmy Choo ‘Patsy’ sandals and a diamond necklace with a ruby pendant.

I’m pleasantly surprised considering the last H&M dress we saw on Oscar night was a total disaster. Remember Helen Hunt?

Despite the admiration, I still believe there were far better looks from both events. Jessica didn’t quite stand out for me on this night.

Lady Gaga In Alaia – 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Graydon Carter - Arrivals

Following her performance at the Oscars, Lady Gaga attended the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday (February 22) in Beverly Hills, California.

This was her third Alaia gown of the night, following the red carpet and the performance, but sadly it was my least favourite of the three.

Yes, it possessed plenty of drama with that sweeping train and the dark cherry lip, but I’m so very bored by the body of the dress, which is totally and deliberately see-through.

This is when I don’t favour sheerness.

Her thong is completely visible, as are the twins. It’s all in very, very bad taste.

Why doesn’t one of these girls just run naked on the red carpet and get it over with?
