Gugu Mbatha-Raw was also among the guest list at the 2015 NAACP Image Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California on Friday (February 6).

The ‘Belle’ star and Outstanding Actress nominee shone brightly in a Burberry strapless gown in a luscious yellow hue.

The floral-shaped, embossed embroidery is really what took this look to the next level, with a thin black studded belt adding an ever-so-slight edge to prevent the pastel dress from venturing too precious.

Taking the belt into account, she carried a black Edie Parker ‘Jean’ clutch and kept the rest of her styling to a minimum with small, arrow earrings and an effortless updo.

At first I was wishing for a bold lip, but upon second glance her nude gloss was in exact keeping with the graceful, unforced nature of the look.

Uzo Aduba was nominated as Outstanding Supporting Actress at the 2015 NAACP Image Awards, held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California on Friday (February 6).

The ‘Orange is the New Black’ star continued her embrace of vibrant colours, this time wearing a shimmering, coral-pink number from Zac Posen’s Fall 2014 collection.

This was a glamour-girl look for the actress with the dress’s side-shaping, curved embroidery and bustling train at the back.

She styled the ensemble with Carla Amorim earrings and Le Vian rings, alongside an elegant, tucked-under bob and a coral-pink lip that matched the gown.

Tessa Thompson was also at the 2015 NAACP Image Awards, hosted at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California on Friday (February 6).

After her gorgeous-in-green look at the AAFCA Awards a few days ago, the ‘Dear White People’ star had a pretty-in-pink moment, donning a Kenzo Spring 2015 design.

In keeping with a moderate directional spin, the calf-length trumpet dress conveyed a sportier, forward vibe with its techno lines and fabric, yet the overall effect was still a soft and subtle one thanks to the fresh, pastel hue.

She styled the frock with nude Jimmy Choo pumps, a silver Edie Parker ‘Jean’ clutch, and Kimberly McDonald jewels, also enhancing its pink shade with a bold magenta-red lip.

Carmen Ejogo attended the 2015 NAACP Image Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California on Friday (February 6).

The ‘Selma’ actress embodied the art of minimalism in her Solace London Spring 2015 white, asymmetrical gown. Conveying an architecturally statuesque mood, the pristine design featured a directional side cutout and arm wrap detail.

Also maintaining a straightforward approach to her accessories, she paired the dress with Christian Louboutin heels, a complementary Rauwolf box clutch, and a House of Lavande golden bracelet.

As a counterpoint to the dress’s more contemporary vibe, she embodied old Hollywood glamour with her retro waves pinned back with a Neil Lane hair accessory, alongside a matte red lip.

Taraji P. Henson was also among the star-studded list at the 2015 NAACP Image Awards, held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California on Friday (February 6).

Recognized as NAACP’s Entertainer of the Year and also winning the Outstanding Actress nod for ‘No Good Deed,’ she couldn’t have looked more ravishing to her accept her trophy.

The fiery-red Edition by Georges Chakra gown featured a strapless, corset bodice and the swoop of figure-flattering, tonal sequin embellishment that cascaded into a sheer chiffon side train.

A fishtail side braid was a cool-girl alternative to a more traditional ’do. It perfectly balanced the sultry sophistication of the dress, which was completed by Tacori silver jewels.
