Runway To 41st NAACP Image Awards – Mo’Nique In Tadashi Shoji

Best Dressed Award
Mo’Nique did walk the red carpet at the 41st NAACP Image awards, but this portrait picture taken of her at the event was the only one which showed the detail in the bodice of her Tadashi Shoji Spring 2010 gown.

The basket weave detail is what really makes this look so interesting as it adds a lot of texture to her look.

Mo’Nique’s confidence on the red carpet has continued to grow this award season, and as a result she’s giving us more impressive looks.

She was definitely one of the best on the night, as both her hair and make-up were flawless.

She wasn’t only a winner on the red carpet, she was also a winner at the event accepting the “Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture” award.

41st NAACP Image Awards – Amber Riley In Tadashi Shoji

Nice Dress, But Did You Have To Match It To Your Eye Shadow? Award

Amber Riley walked the NAACP’s 41st Annual Image Awards red carpet on Friday night.

The “Glee” actress wore a stunning Tadashi Shoji aztec blue gown.

I love the way the pleated details on her crinkled gown hug her curvaceous figure, plus the gorgeous chiffon skirt which flows elegantly into a beautiful train.

My only problem with this look is Riley’s eye shadow.

Not being a fan of eye shadow myself, I really dislike it when a bold coloured dress is matched with eye make-up.

Yes it works sometimes, but not on this occasion for me.

Amber completes her look with a silver crystal Swarovski clutch.

Runway To 41st NAACP Image Awards – Selena Gomez In Georges Hobeika

Simple Yet Stunning Award
On Friday night, stars took to the red carpet for the 41st NAACP Image Awards in LA.

Selena Gomez was one of the many stars who looked gorgeous on the night.

The teen actress looked beautiful wearing a Georges Hobeika Signature Spring 2010 gown.

I normally moan about Selena dressing too old for her age, but on this occasion I love the simplicity of this look.

When teen queen Taylor Swift is dazzling us with embellishments each time she hits the red carpet, Selena opts for a simple ivory strapless gown which has is gathered on the bodice and waist.

She could’ve then opted to over accessorize to make a big statement, but just dark navy earrings and silver clutch complete the look.

I think she looks so good that she even outshines the model.

19th Annual NAACP Theatre Awards

Laila Ali is an athlete so history will tell us that she should have been the worst dressed at this event, but she was by far the best.

The boxer was a knock-out on the red carpet looking sexy yet elegant wearing a blue Roberto Cavalli one-shoulder blue gown.

If this looks familiar to you it’s because Shu Qi wore a slightly modified version of this dress to “Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky” premiere during Cannes Film Festival, and Katherine Heigl wore the same dress on the cover of InStyle US August 2009.

Elise Neal wore a white silk halter Kai Milla gown with purple striping and beaded rope detailing.

The perfect summer time look.

Tatyana Ali wore a mustard tea dress with an embroidered details on the bodice and skirt.

Monique Coleman looks all grown up in her strapless black dress with a blue bodice.

I love her make-up.

Tichina Arnold posed on the red carpet wearing a strapless gown which has to be one of the worst I have even seen on the red carpet.

Even Phoebe Price would veto this gown.

Runway To NAACP Image Awards – Halle Berry In Pamella Roland

Halle Berry has been MIA for a while, but she returned to the stage with a bang looking stunning alongside her co-host – the equally gorgeous – Tyler Perry at the NAACP Image Awards last night.

One of her many looks included a garnet ombre chiffon one shouldered Pamella Roland Fall 2008 gown.

Her gown is so very glamourous, and the colour suits her skin-tone perfectly.

2009 NAACP Image Awards

Jennifer Hudson pick up her outstanding new artist Award wearing a black Peter Sorenon dress, which had a feathered detail on the hip.

She completed her look with Givenchy lace ankle sandals.

Beyonce perform her song Halo wearing a gorgeous white gown, with a black band, and delicate embellishments on the bodice, which also cascaded down her skirt.

Jada Pinkett Smith wore a maroon strapless Monique Lhuillier gown, with a a vintage Judith Lieber belt.

I must say I am a bit disappointed the bigger stars did not take to the red carpet.

Taraji P. Henson added her increasing star quality to the red carpet wearing a gorgeous lemon halter neck mermaid Zac Posen gown.

I love the ruffled detail down the middle, and the layering of the hem.

A very chic Rosario Dawson walked the red carpet wearing a black silk taffeta Rafael Cennamo full-skirted dress.

Sanaa Lathan looked ravishing in this daring plunge neck jersey Donna Karan gown with black straps.

I am not a fan of Dakota Fanning’s nude strapless down. It feels too naked.

Alfre Woodard wore a Tadashi fuschia iridescent crinkled silk chiffon fly away cocktail dress. Her look was accessorized with a Mary Norton gold clutch.

Chandra Wilson impressed me on this red carpet.

Usually I find a fault, but the hair, the make-up, the jewels, the Daniel Swarovski clutch and her orange Pamella Roland Spring 2008 gown are all faultless.

Can you believe that this is Rudy Huxtable aka Keshia Knight Pulliam?

She stands out on the red carpet wearing an electric blue gown.

After Taraji, Vanessa Williams wore my second favourite gown on this red carpet. I love the colour, and jeweled detail on this one-shouldered gown.

Like Chandra, Tichina Arnold looks flawless. This baby blue gown really stands out and makes her glow.

Holly Robinson Peete wore a coral and silver Naeem Khan Spring 2008 patterned cocktail dress, with pewter strappy heels.
