Ciara In Givenchy Couture - 2013 MTV Video Music Awards #VMAs

Ciara looked stunning on the red carpet at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday evening.

It’s no surprise that she’s wearing Givenchy Couture, selecting a Fall 2010 second skin gloved-gown accented with strategically placed crystal embroidery and feathers at the hemline.

While I have a slight feeling of déjà vu – Florence Welch at the 2011 Grammys immediately springs to mind – it takes nothing away from how beautiful the singer looks.

One of my favourites of the night.

You may remember that Mariacarla Boscono wore this same gown to the 2011 Met Gala.

Coco Rocha In Fausto Puglisi - 2013 MTV Video Music Awards #VMAs

Mega model Coco Rocha worked the runway, ahem red carpet, at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The catwalker could have been a rock star, as she struck a pose in a Fausto Puglisi black leather embossed jacket that was embellished with all sorts of bells and whistles—from studs and shine to zippers galore.

With such an intense piece, she kept the rest of her look minimal with skinny black pants, black pointy pumps and nary an accessory in sight save for a few rings.

Aside from the jacket, the other star of this style show was Coco’s new auburn pixie-punk ’do, which she coaxed into a pompadour style, ratcheting up the rocker vibe even more. A brush of grey smoky shadow completed her steely, sultry stare.

Rock on.

2013 MTV Video Music Awards - Red Carpet

Rita Ora really brought the wow factor to the red carpet at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards held at the Barclay Center in New York on Sunday evening.

This Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2013 baby-blue gown was always going to make its way down a red carpet at a music event; you may remember that I had it on my Fall 2013 Couture wish list for Jennifer Lopez, but it was Rita who brought at least half of my wish to life.

Featuring a crystal embroidered long-sleeve top with a daring plunge and a dramatic feathered train with a thigh-high slit that left very little to the imagination, Rita more than does justice to this look.

The surprising thing here is that she didn’t opt for her signature red lip for which I am very grateful.

Working an even shorter bob, she completed her look with black-and-gold ankle strap Louboutin sandals.

Is there too much on display? Or does she totally nail the look for this occasion?

Iggy Azalea In Emilio Pucci - 2013 MTV Video Music Awards #VMAs

Iggy Azalea left little to the imagination at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The provocative Australian rapper, who is nominated in the Artist to Watch category, certainly gave us an eyeful on the red carpet. She clad her curves in a sheer nude veiling of gold-leaf embroidery, manifested in a long column dress, from the sultry Emilio Pucci Spring 2013 creation.

Coincidence or not, that her swept back golden-blonde locks nearly matched the gown was the icing on this translucent confection. A cherry-red lip topped the risqué sundae.

A modish Midas touch, or a see-through sartorial sin?

2013 MTV Video Music Awards - Red Carpet

The Fifth Harmony pretties were out in force at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Staying in tune with each other’s style, the ‘Me & My Girls’ singers debuted a coordinated track of neon yellow, dark blue and black ensembles, whilst all wearing long, romantic waves.

Dinah-Jane Hansen: Setting the tone in a Topshop satin jumpsuit in a bright chartreuse shade with matching pumps, Dinah piled on the punk with a leather cutout The Ragged Priest jacket and a chain pendant necklace.

Lauren Jauregui: Legs were the name of Lauren’s game in her navy uber-mini dress, belted at the waist and worn with black platform booties.

Ally Brooke: Ally also put her pins on display in leather hot pants and a buttercup-yellow crop top.

Normani Kordei: Following Dinah’s punkish mood, Normani flung a studded leather jacket over her empire-waist cocktail dress, overlaid with a flurry of organza. She finished the frock off with embellished heels.

Camila Cabello: Taking the girliest route of the group, Camila’s flirty baby-doll Jones + Jones ‘Laura’ frock with a lace bodice and full pleated skirt got a positive boost from her bright coral-pink lippie—and a negative one with those clunk-tastic Topshop ‘Prudance’ platform sandals.

Do you have a favourite Fifth Harmony look, or did their sartorial selections leave you with a sense of discord?

Katy Perry In Emanuel Ungaro - 2013 MTV Video Music Awards

Katy Perry was one of the first stars to walk the red carpet at the Barclay Center in New York on Sunday evening for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

The singer shimmied down the red carpet wearing an Emanuel Ungaro Fall 2013 long sleeve leopard print dress with a sexy side slit and gold embellishments around the neckline and shoulders.

I love that she back to having fun with fashion tonight.

Katy will be releasing a teaser of her ‘Roar’ music video at the VMAs, so this look couldn’t be more appropriate.

A high ponytail plus black-and-gold Celine sandals completed her look.

Does this make you roar with delight or scream in horror?

You may remember that Coco Rocha wore the gown version of this dress to the Met Gala.

You can buy Katy’s Emanuel Ungaro dress from Luisa via Roma.
