Jhene Aiko In DKNY & Big Sean In Dior Homme – 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards

Big Sean and Jhene Aiko attended the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, hosted on Sunday (May 7) in LA.

Big Sean must have been feeling a bit crafts-y in his Dior Homme Spring 2017 patchwork suit, which he made smolder with his strong gaze.

As for Jhene, she properly balanced out the extreme proportions of her wide-leg DKNY Spring 2017 pinstripe trousers with a cropped bandeau that showed off her toned midriff.

An Emm Kuo ‘Ferrat’ clutch, Velina Jewelry and Lili Claspe jewelry completed her look.

Zendaya In Zuhair Murad Couture – 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards

Zendaya, ever the unpredictable red-carpet chameleon, was also at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, hosted on Sunday (May 7) in LA.

On a night when we might have thought she would go super-edgy or wonderfully wacky, she kept us on our toes and veered in the direction of vintage glam instead.

She was every bit the retro darling in a Zuhair Murad Fall 2016 Couture olive-green dress that was rich with tonal embellishment.

I even forgot about my sheer fatigue, as this look was so enchanting.

Tucked-under curls completed the elegant throwback moment that Zendaya wore with a modern command of form.

Jourdan Dunn In Johanna Ortiz – 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards

Jourdan Dunn was also in attendance at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, hosted on Sunday (May 7) in LA.

This Johanna Ortiz Fall 2017 ensemble combined the designer’s signature sculptural ruffles with her latest penchant for bows—here, seen in an obi-style belt.

Despite this being a pants-forward—some might even see pyjama pants—look, it had an aura of unapologetic, rosy femininity.

Both her dark ruby lip and Charlotte Olympia ‘Tango’ pumps colour-coordinated with the top to bring the look cohesively together.

Allison Williams In Galia Lahav – 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards

Allison Williams was the golden girl of the night at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, hosted on Sunday (May 7) in LA.

Not only were her platinum locks positively luminous, her Galia Lahav Fall 2017 hyper-glittery mini shone from every angle.

The multi-tonal effect of the brassy gold colour offset by a warm bronze and grassy green is what maintained the dress’s effortless cool factor despite all the glitz—that, and its simple, relaxed silhouette with the slight peek-a-boo of side cutouts.

Yes, I would have preferred the lightness of a metallic sandal instead of the heavier of the Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Sharon’ platform heels. But, the rest of her styling was on point, including a Pierre Hardy bag, Rachel Katz Jewelry and Effy jewelry.

Issa Rae In Off-White – 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards

Issa Rae attended the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, hosted on Sunday (May 7) in LA.

The ‘Insecure’ actress showed off a navy Off-White leather dress styled with a Kate Spade New York ‘Everdene Lane Zurie’ clutch and Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals.

I wanted to love the dress more than I actually did. But, if I could pinpoint what put me off the look, it’s largely owed to the overly girly ruffle additions at the bodice—not to mention a slightly ill-fitted look through the skirt.

She topped off the look with some sparkle via a John Hardy ring, Le Vian earrings, and a Narcisa Pheres canary diamond bracelet.

Holland Roden In Tadashi Shoji – 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards

Holland Roden was also at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, hosted on Sunday (May 7) in LA.

A fashion flight of fancy came courtesy of her Tadashi Shoji Spring 2017 ostrich feather and fringe dress.

I love the manner in which she styled this whimsical frock, with a layer of simplicity in her Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals, a bit of contrast in her blue Tyler Ellis clutch, and a dose of edginess in her Swarovski Vittore Palm cuff, Atelier Swarovski earrings, smoldering eye makeup, and messy ponytail.

Visible illusion necklines always give me pause, and that is no different here. But, otherwise, it was a lovely and fun look for Holland. Would you agree?
