2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The men also had their moment at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday (May 7) in LA, with a range of experimental looks.

Zac Efron: The ‘Baywatch’ hunk may have been in all-white, but that didn’t keep this ensemble from having an edgy attitude. The holographic sheen of his jacket and the distressed, ripped denim made sure of that.

Brandon Flynn
: Tapestry took on a new, low-key meaning with this Saint Laurent Spring 2017 patterned bomber jacket from the women’s collection, styled with black denim and a John Hardy bracelet.

Tommy Dorfman: Apologies to Zara Larsson, but Tommy gets the prize for the real go-go boots of the night with these DSquared2 Spring 2017 designs. I really couldn’t take the rest of the look seriously if I tried, given that footwear. But, this Vivienne Westwood MAN Fall 2017 dudes-in-dresses moment certainly had enough chutzpah to compete with the glitter.

2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Many more starlets took to the red carpet at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday (May 7) in LA.

Millie Bobby Brown: Cowgirl-glam never looked better than with this Calvin Klein By Appointment sequin dress paired with Calvin Klein white western boots and Jennifer Meyer jewels.

Gal Gadot: Tuxedo-style dressing was upgraded with a hem of tasseled fringe and lace in this sexy little Cinq à Sept LBD number.

Alexandra Daddario: Evocatively feminine, this Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini Fall 2016 lace gown made flashing your panty-line look rather pretty. Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals completed the look.

Emma Watson In Kitx – 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards

Emma Watson took home the golden popcorn for her win as Best Actor in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday (May 7) in LA.

She didn’t take a night off from her eco-minded ways, either, choosing a Fall 2017 look from positive-impact label, Kitx.

The asymmetric design, swathed in giant paillettes, shone all the more brightly given its sustainable background and the innovation behind it. After all, those glitzy paillettes were likely made from recycled plastic.

Plus, I love the chic, refined elegance with which she wore the dress, styling it with a sleek ‘do and simple sandals to balance out the more ostentatious pizzazz of the embellishment.

Cara Delevingne In Saint Laurent – 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards

Cara Delevingne shut down the red carpet at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday (May 7) in LA.

I have been continually blown away by Cara’s command of style recently, and she continued to impress in this impossibly edgy Saint Laurent mini dress with sculptural embellishment paired with thigh-high boots and Djula diamond rings.

Her styling of late has taken a sci-fi turn, as she readies for the release of her ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’ film later this summer.

The futuristic effect manifested itself the most via her avant-garde makeup and dark oxblood lip, not to mention her platinum buzz cut, with the remainder of her look translating as super-heroine meets supermodel meets endless cool-girl.

She was crowned my favourite of the night… what about you?

Taraji P. Henson In Emilio Pucci – 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards

Taraji P. Henson was the winner of Best Fight Against the System for ‘Hidden Figures’ at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, hosted on Sunday (May 7) in LA.

Her golden popcorn trophy had nothing on her Emilio Pucci Fall 2017 dress, which was emanating with a strong sense of space-age glam. And, her blunt platinum bob only contributed to the futuristic effect.

That said, perhaps there is such a thing as too much gold—even in outer space—as the all-over glitter in combination with the high turtleneck didn’t exactly flatter Taraji’s figure.

The open back detail did help, but not enough to save the front of the dress.

Graziela Gems rings completed the metallic-overload look.
