Corinne Bailey Rae In Christian Siriano – 2015 MOBO Awards

Corinne Bailey Rae In Christian Siriano - 2015 MOBO Awards

Corinne Bailey Rae attended the 2015 MOBO Awards held at the First Direct Arena on Wednesday (November 4) in Leeds, England.

The singer wore an aqua Christian Siriano Spring 2016 statuesque column dress which becomes a striking head-turner with the addition of a flowing train.

Factor in those chequered Sophia Webster sandals, and the head-turn becomes a double-take.

While the look was probably designed for sunnier climes, I’m sure this managed to brighten up a cold wet night in Leeds.

FKA Twigs In Jitrois - 2015 MOBO Awards

FKA Twigs took to the red carpet at the 2015 MOBO Awards on Wednesday (November 4) in Leeds, England, prior to her raunchy performance.

Wearing all black, the singer wore a laced body suit with Jitrois wide leg leather trousers.

Capturing drama and fierceness as a strong and confident woman, I love how the tough fabric along with the styling gives this look an edge without a try-hard feeling.

Twigs later removed the trousers to perform in just the bodysuit.

The MOBO Awards were held at the SSE Arena on Wednesday (October 22) in London, England.

Mel B: The X Factor judge, who co-hosted the event, took to the red carpet with husband Stephen Belafonte wearing a slashed-to-the-thigh white one-sleeve Julien Macdonald gown featuring gold embellishments. The former Spice Girl isn’t known for her style, but recently she has been making great strides. This takes her back several steps.

Nicole Scherzinger: The singer, who has her own Missguided collection, opted to wear this laser-cut leather frock from Ermanno Scervino styled with Gianmarco Lorenzi ankle boots which just don’t go with the sexy fitted frock.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

From Scotland to England, the guys suited up in style for a round of red carpets this past weekend.

Tinie Tempah: The British rapper was appropriately dressed in a trendy-dapper Dolce & Gabbana black tux and a perfect bow tie, as he pointed out his Best Hip Hop/Grime MOBO Award at the 18th anniversary MOBO Awards at the Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland on Saturday. The loafers, worn sans socks, added another shot of attitude.

Tom Hiddleston: At Friday’s ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’ London premiere during the 57th BFI London Film Festival at Odeon West End, the British actor walked the line between bold and basic in an Alexander McQueen black velvet shawl collar dinner jacket, paired with a white evening shirt, skinny black tie, black trousers and black patent shoes.

Colin Farrell: The actor joined Ruth Wilson at the ‘Saving Mr. Banks’ closing night gala premiere, held during the 57th BFI London Film Festival at Odeon Leicester Square last night. He tempered his edgy persona with a more clean-cut look featuring a dark, three-piece Dolce & Gabbana pinstripe number.

2013 MOBO Awards Red Carpet Roundup

2013 MOBO Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of the rest of the ladies who took to the red carpet for the 2013 MOBO Awards held at The Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland on Saturday evening.

Laura Mvula: Taking home the Best Female Act—ahead of Jessie J and Rita Ora—Laura also picked up the prize for Best R&B/Soul Artist at the event. Aside from the strange paradox of her oiled chest and matte makeup, the singer wore a loose-fitted, silver-and-gold, zig-zag print jumpsuit styled with a hooded wrap and black platform booties. The styling and that oiled chest put me off from loving what could’ve been a great look.

Sarah-Jane Crawford: The radio presenter, who was also the host for the night alongside Trevor Nelson, wore several looks throughout the night. Sadly, Getty only captured just one. For the red carpet, she wore a Forever Unique ‘Serena’ lace strapless dress with alluring sheer mesh panels on the sides, which made this a real red carpet show stopper. Opting not to overdo her look with unnecessary jewels, she completed her look with soft wavy tresses, a dark manicure and a red pout.

Iggy Azelea: The Australian rapper, who performed at the event, wore a cobalt-blue (a divine colour against her porcelain skin) embellished gown, featuring a central slit and a plunging neckline. Silver Jimmy Choo ‘Lance’ sandals and touches of red via her nails and pout completed her look. I have a feeling this look won’t be well-received, and I was expecting something far more provocative.
