Lily Allen In Chanel – ‘Saving Mr Banks’ London Film Festival Closing Night Gala Premiere

Lily Allen In Chanel - 'Saving Mr Banks' London Film Festival Closing Night Gala Premiere

Lily Allen attended the Closing Night Gala premiere of ‘Saving Mr Banks’ during the 57th BFI London Film Festival held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London yesterday evening.

After a hiatus to concentrate on being a mother, the singer is back on the red carpet and it appears not much has changed as she’s wearing Chanel once again.

As she’s one of Uncle Karl’s favourite’s, she was able to go back into the archives to select this Chanel Fall 2011 gown featuring a white cap-sleeved top with black lace accents and a chiffon shredded black skirt accented with an embroidered-leaf waistband.

The look was given a pop of colour via her yellow manicure, with a Chanel ‘Lego’ clutch completing the look.

I do love it when celebs go back into the archives. It’s an opportunity for them to pick those pieces we wish we’d seen on the red carpet. Sadly, this wasn’t such an occasion as this dress has been worn twice before.

Zoe Kravitz wore it to the 2011 UNICEF Snowflake Ball and Emilia Clarke wore it to the 2012 SAG Awards.

I wonder who will wear it in 2014?

Ruth Wilson In Alexander McQueen – ‘Locke’ London Film Festival Premiere

Friday evening also saw the screening of ‘Locke’ during the 57th BFI London Film Festival held at the Odeon West End, which was attended by British actress Ruth Wilson.

Selecting a look from the Alexander McQueen Fall 2013 collection, her shortened black velvet dress featured a diamond-shaped beaded bodice on grey tulle, which she styled with a silver metal Cathedral arch belt.

I love how this look commands your attention. It almost has a warrior feel to it with that armoury, but she lets the look down with the hair.

I won’t call it a hairstyle, because not much has been done to it.

Joanne Froggatt In Hervé Léger & John Rocha – 2013 BFI London Film Festival Awards

Joanne Froggatt In Herve Leger & John Rocha - 2013 BFI London Film Festival Awards

Joanne Froggatt attended the 2013 BFI London Film Festival Awards held at Banqueting House in London on Saturday evening.

The ‘Downton Abbey’ star has always been a favourite of mine, and I have full admiration for this look considering the journey it made from the runway to the red carpet.

Her look consists of a Hervé Léger black top and a John Rocha Fall 2013 leaf appliqué skirt which started out its life on the runway as a strapless dress.

Some runway looks are often presented as seen on the runway, so for her stylists to see past the original look to create what we see on Joanne takes great foresight and imagination worthy of praise.

A green cummerbund, David Webb jewels, a simple black clutch, and embellished Christian Louboutin ‘Artifice’ pumps completed her look.

If I dare nitpick, I would’ve love her hair pulled back or up with this look. Otherwise, I’m in total lust.

Lupita Nyong’o In Christopher Kane – ’12 Years A Slave’ London Film Festival Premiere

Lupita Nyong'o In Christopher Kane - '12 Years A Slave' London Film Festival Premiere

Lupita Nyong’o took to the red carpet on Friday evening for the ’12 Years A Slave’ premiere during the 57th BFI London Film Festival held at Odeon Leicester Square in London.

The beautiful actress wore a Christopher Kane Resort 2014 LBD with cut-outs at the waist and elastic panels. This look continues to prove that this girl has impeccable style worthy of admiration, considering her red carpet journey is still in its infancy.

Christian Louboutin ‘Paulina’ pumps, Kwiat jewels and a silver clutch completed her look.

Once again, her makeup artist enhanced her radiant skin with shimmering blue eyes and a striking red lip colour.

Is best-dressed newcomer of the year a foregone conclusion, or do you have your eye on someone else?

Anna Kendrick In Alberta Ferretti – ‘Drinking Buddies’ London Film Festival Premiere

Anna Kendrick In Alberta Ferretti - 'Drinking Buddies' London Film Festival Premiere

Anna Kendrick attended a screening of ‘Drinking Buddies’ held during the 57th BFI London Film Festival at the Odeon West End in London this evening.

The actress wore a floral Alberta Ferretti Spring 2014 two-piece featuring a crop top with chiffon overlay and an A-line skirt with a tri-colour metallic waist band.

My first reaction was, something’s off.

While on the one hand I want to scream “Hallelujah” this isn’t blush, nude or one of Anna’s more expected looks; on the other, the accessories could’ve celebrated the vibrant floral prints a bit more.

I am not on the fence about her makeup, as both are styled beautifully.

Yay or nay?
