2014 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards Menswear Roundup

David Beckham wasn’t the only handsome gent on the red carpet for the 60th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards held at the London Palladium on Sunday (November 30) in London, England.

Benedict Cumberbatch: The actor looked very smart and handsome on the red carpet, decked in a peek lapel suit before his presenting duties at the event. Once again my eyes headed straight to his lovely fiancée, director Sophie Hunter, who again wore an Erdem gown, this time selecting a Pre-Fall 2014 Bayleigh jacquard gown rendered with bubblegum, burgundy and merlot roses.

Tom Hiddleston: Prepare to swoon once again, this time for the winner of the Best Actor award, Tom Hiddleston, who looked very dapper in his black Alexander McQueen shawl collar tuxedo styled with a tonal skull bow tie and skull cufflinks. He was giving Becks a run for his money when it comes to best dressed male at this event.

Gillian Anderson In Nicholas Oakwell Couture – 2014 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Gillian Anderson In Nicholas Oakwell Couture - 2014 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Gillian Anderson attended the 60th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards held at the London Palladium on Sunday (November 30) in London, England.

The ‘Hannibal’ actress swept the red carpet wearing a Nicholas Oakwell Spring 2014 Couture strapless gown.

Following Natalie Dormer’s ‘Hunger Games’ red carpet look, this sees the British couturier back on a good footing.

I don’t know about you, but I prefer Gillian’s black and neon-yellow floral appliqué gown over the summery white and red version we can see in the look book.

Gillian’s dramatic look feels more in tune with her style, plus I love that the look has been updated for the current season.

Yellow stone drop earrings, a chic updo and simple black clutch rounded out her look.

Bee Shaffer In Dolce & Gabbana – 2014 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Bee Shaffer In Dolce & Gabbana - 2014 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Bee Shaffer attended the 60th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards held at the London Palladium on Sunday (November 30) in London, England.

The socialite wore a Dolce & Gabbana gown, striking the perfect balance between femininity and seductiveness.

I adore how the lush carnations set against a backdrop of rich black steal the spotlight, which she enhances with a matching red pout.

While the design shows off her figure to perfection, I find myself a little unsure about the diamond necklace with this gown.

Carey Mulligan presented the Best Design Award during at the 60th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards held at the London Palladium on Sunday (November 30) in London, England.

The British actress wore an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2014 black satin ruffled dress with black Alexander McQueen ‘Armadillo’ sandals.

I don’t know about you but my first reaction to this was “what a waste”.

Such a stunning dress deserved a red carpet moment and frankly better styling.

It’s rare that McQueen can look so blah, but Carey managed to make the impossible, possible.

David Beckham In Dior Homme & Victoria Beckham In Victoria Beckham – 2014 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

David Beckham & Victoria Beckham In Victoria Beckham - 2014 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

David Beckham and Victoria Beckham attended the 60th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards held at the London Palladium on Sunday (November 30) in London, England.

David Beckham: The former soccer star almost renders me speechless, looking very debonair wearing a navy Dior Homme tuxedo with a black shawl collar, which was rounded out with a savvy bow tie.

Victoria Beckham: The designer once again wore black. Donning a strapless self-designed gown with the signature exposed zipper running down the length of the back. While this look feels very familiar, she did opt to swap her usual emerald jewels for sapphire on this occasion. Having a case of déja vu? That’s because Victoria wore the white version of this same gown to the 2014 Met Gala.
