London Evening Standard Theatre Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Many more stars were in attendance at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards were held on Sunday (December 3) in London, England, where all modes of elegance reigned supreme.

Annabelle Wallis: She was the very picture of modern glamour in this Stella McCartney black lace gown. I love how the perfect plunge neckline and semi-sheer, layered effect gave this dress a sultry yet sophisticated finish—juxtaposed with the classic elegance of old-Hollywood waves and a red lip.

Ophelia Lovibond: Not content to let her look go fully the way of monochromatic minimalism, Olivia enlivened this Emporio Armani Fall 2017 halter dress with a bright-pink clutch. It was unexpected, but gave the look its own unique flair.

Cush Jumbo In Michael Kors Collection – London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Cush Jumbo stepped out at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday (December 3), joining Ruth Negga and Keira Knightley.

The English actress shimmered in a Michael Kors Collection Pre-Fall 2017 gown.

She often favors classic, feminine shapes so this luxurious bohemian theme was an exciting choice — especially as I’m sure many were expecting Kate Hudson to wear the dress.

‘The Good Fight’ star’s minimal accessories allowed the liquid draping to be fully appreciated.

Plus, the rich bronze colour against her skin and hair was so sensational, other details would have just been a distraction.

Ruth Negga In Valentino – London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Ruth Negga attended the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday (December 3), alongside Cate Blanchett, Poppy Delevingne and Zendaya Coleman.

Even when the actress wears the latest season’s designs, there is a vintage elegance to her ensembles.

This was demonstrated in this red Valentino Spring 2018 gown. The flowing, almost cocoon shape and mix of fabrics had a retro romance that felt very effortless.

She played up the designer’s signature shade with a coordinating Edie Parker clutch.

Poppy Delevingne In Prada – London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Poppy Delevingne made an exuberant statement at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday (December 3).

The model donned a Prada gown which perfectly captured the designer’s wit and love of mixing textures.

The plunging neckline was offset with blue flower-like embellishment speckled against the cream fabric for a refreshing effect.

Of course, the injection of blue was heightened considerably with the coordinating feathers.

Some might find the look too spring-like, but I enjoyed the way the wispy feathers wrapped up the ensemble while adding some dynamic texture.

This brings a smile to my face.

Keira Knightley In Valentino – The London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

We’ve seen a few sightings of Keira Knightley this year on the red carpet, but I have been dying to see her back at her best for a big event, and that came courtesy of the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday (December 3).

And of course it would be Valentino who would furnish the occasion.

Her Spring 2018 tulle gown with contrasting green satin bows is the thing girls fairytales; and costume departments on the set of period dramas are made of.

It’s vintage Keira at her very best.

I’m sure there are many cheers of joy that she lined the piece, but either way I would’ve been blown away by the majestic nature of it all.

Zendaya Coleman In Elie Saab Couture – The London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Ahead of her mega promo tour for ‘The Greatest Showman’, Zendaya Coleman attended the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday (December 3).

The actress took my breath away in this Elie Saab Fall 2017 Couture gradient gown which depicts a stormy evening sky.

Those who have grown tired of the “typical” Elie Saab princess gown, will no doubt have their heads turned by the modernity and artful, feminine edge of this piece which makes a very powerful statement.

Letting the gown do all the talking, she opted for a slick back hair do with complimentary bronzed makeup.

This might just be my favourite Elie Saab look this year.
