Sonam Kapoor In Ashi Studio & Katrina Kaif In Jenny Packham – L’Oreal Paris ‘Matte or Gloss’ Cannes Collection Launch

L'Oreal Paris 'Matte or Gloss' Cannes Collection Launch

Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif made for a fetching duo at the L’Oreal Paris ‘Matte or Gloss’ Cannes Collection Launch held at Lalit Hotel on Saturday (April 25) in Mumbai, India, where the two beauties served up unique looks that still corresponded well with each other.

Sonam Kapoor: Blending the best of classic elegance and directional charm, the actress delighted in this Ashi Studio high-low gown with dimensional, fern-like embroidery. I love the sophisitication of the off-the-shoulder silhouette mixed with the whimsical, asymmetrical effect of the voluminous skirt and bustle. As to be expected, her beauty look was on-point with a hot fuchsia lip enlivening the dress even more.

Katrina Kaif: As the newest ambassador for L’Oreal India, Katrina shimmered in a Jenny Packham pale-pink gown that featured an effortless sense of languid, luxe glamour with a flowing silhouette and allover beading. Her flame-red waves and bright lavender-pink lip likewise enriched the dress with a touch of mod colour.

While both girls are lovely, I favour Sonam’s look for its enchanting, forward spin on classic elegance.

Sonam Kapoor In Elie Saab – 2015 Hindustan Times Mumbai’s Most Stylish Awards

Sonam Kapoor In Elie Saab - 2015 Hindustan Times Mumbai's Most Stylish Awards

Sonam Kapoor attended the Hindustan Times Mumbai’s Most Stylish Awards 2015 ceremony in Mumbai on Thursday (March 26).

After captivating us as Best Dressed of the Week in her pale-pink Maticevski confection, she continued to shine in a mint-green Elie Saab Resort 2015 embellished gown with corresponding sash.

While this look doesn’t have the same take-your-breath-away quality, I still love her current embrace of soft pastel shades, which work beautifully with her complexion.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan In Maticevski – 2015 Hindustan Times Mumbai’s Most Stylish Awards

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan In Maticevski - 2015 Hindustan Times Mumbai’s Most Stylish Awards

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the 2015 Hindustan Times Mumbai’s Most Stylish Awards ceremony in Mumbai on Thursday (March 26).

The Indian beauty, much like Cate Blanchett, never fails to impress me on the red carpet.

On this occasion she stunned wearing a black strapless Maticevski gown which is imbued with a high-fashion allure.

I love how this scuba jersey piece perfectly sculpts and contours with the mermaid hem and intricate silver embroidery elevating this look to a whole new stratosphere.

I would ditch the out-of-place clutch, but everything else here is utter perfection.

Bring on Cannes 2015.

Sonam Kapoor In Maticevski – L’Oréal Paris Femina Women Awards

Sonam Kapoor In Maticevski - L'Oréal Paris Femina Women Awards

Sonam Kapoor attended the L’Oréal Paris Femina Women Awards on Monday (March 23) in Mumbai.

I was totally blown away by her Toni Maticevski pale-pink gown.

On her last outing she opted for something more adventurous, which paid off, but here we see her back to her breath-taking best, with the words pretty-in-pink never more apparent.

At first glance you might write this off as a typical princess gown, and while it does have a fairy-tale vision and is intrinsically charming, the asymmetrical neckline and exaggerated hips lend a more contemporary feel.

A braided updo and jewelled Leiber minaudiere completed her look, which may very well be taking pride of place on my BDOTY list. It is that good.

Sonam Kapoor In Jean Louis Sabaji – 2015 Filmfare Awards

Sonam Kapoor In Jean Louis Sabaji - 2015 Filmfare Awards

Sonam Kapoor attended the Filmfare Awards on Thursday (February 26) in Mumbai, India, where she picked up an award for being the ‘Most Stylish Star’ of the year and the ‘Trendsetter’ of the year.

She owned the red carpet wearing a Jean Louis Sabaji Fall 2015 gown that, despite its slinky silhouette, brought plenty of drama to the occasion courtesy of that feather-accented black train. This gown personifies why I love Lebanese designers: bold in design and oozing with glamour.

It also signifies a refreshing change in direction for Sonam, who is often expressive in her red carpet looks but frequently plays it safe.

Working a slicked-back hairdo and dramatic eyes, she was right to keep the rest of the styling simple, with the full focus on her masterpiece.

Love or loathe?
