Esprit Dior Tokyo 2015 Front Row

A trio of Dior-outfitted darlings showed up for the Esprit Dior Tokyo 2015 Fashion Show at Ryogoku Kokugikan on Thursday (December 11) in Japan. However, their looks couldn’t have been more different.

Hailee Steinfeld: The starlet donned a Christian Dior Spring 2014 Couture embroidered, off-white silk cocoon-shaped dress with patent Dior pumps. Worn with nude makeup and a slick updo, the look follows Hailee’s sophisticated yet sweet style. Yet the hemline fell a few centimetres too short and the overall effect was too precious for my liking. You may remember that Angelababy wore a similar dress.

Audrey Tautou: The French star wore a Christian Dior grey wool embroidered coat with a Dior black wool top and cropped black pants, all accessorized with Dior T-bar heels and a mini Dior “Bar” bag. I’m not a fan of the shrunken silhouette of the coat or its gaping front.

Crystal Kay: Bringing a shock of colour to the front row, the Japanese recording artist stood out in a Christian Dior Fall 2014 orange silk dress worn with a Dior bright blue wool coat and a lemon-yellow Dior clutch. The contrasting hues surprisingly all worked together, yet it was the embellished nude Dior heels that really didn’t match here.

Chanel Metiers d’Art Collection Pre-Fall 2015 Paris-Salzburg Front Row

The Chanel Metiers d’Art Collection 2014/15 Paris-Salzburg was hosted on Tuesday (December 2) in Salzburg, Austria. Chanel-bedecked pretties were seated front and centre for the show.

Rooney Mara: The actress was dressed in a Chanel Fall 2014 Couture grey organza dress embellished with small concrete cubes and accented by balloon sleeves that corresponded with the full skirt embroidered with grey and gold rubber ribbons. Because the frock in itself was an art piece, she let it be the main exhibit with simple Chanel black pumps and the lightest sprinkling of Chanel Fine Jewelry to finish this statement look. The silhouette was girly, but the edginess was in the style-forward construction and materials.

Lily Allen: Working her own brand of edginess, the singer wore a Chanel Spring 2015 short-sleeve grey tweed coat over a blue knit top. It was rather demure—from the waist up. The Chanel Resort 2015 black sheer lace pants put the suggestive pop into this look, with a kitschy ‘lait de Coco’ Chanel milk-carton bag adding a final punch of humour. I just cannot get past her faded coral hair colour at the moment, though.

Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey: Working a sophisticated angle, the Franco-Spanish starlet wore a Chanel Spring 2015 matching black and white printed organza top and skirt with Chanel Fine Jewelry. Prim and feminine, she topped it off with mannish twist with her buckle boots and black tights.

Louis Vuitton Spring 2015 Front Row

Louis Vuitton Spring 2015 Front Row

Louis Vuitton presented their Spring 2015 collection during Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday (October 1) to a mix of LV devotees and some new fans they have picked up along the way.

Jennifer Connelly: I was going to call Jennifer Connelly Nicolas Ghesquière’s biggest fan, but Charlotte Gainsbourg would dispute that. The actress selected an LV Resort 2015 black suit with red seams which on most I don’t think I would buy, mostly due to the leather neckline, but Jennifer sells the look to me with her confident pose and the elegance which oozes from every pore.

Charlotte Gainsbourg: The French beauty always nails it, this time working a Resort 2015 biker chic look which as always looks effortless. Even though I really dislike those front-zipper trousers, like Jennifer, Charlotte managed to sell this look to me in its entirety.

Michelle Williams: While Jennifer and Charlotte wear LV religiously, Michelle, who is the face of Louis Vuitton’s desirable bags for a third season, often wears the brand, selecting the easier pieces for her red carpet look. I found myself loving this sportier look from Michelle. The look feels fresh and effortless without compromising her style or the brand’s ethos.

Miuccia Prada presented her Miu Miu Spring 2015 collection during Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday (October 1) to a host of gorgeous starlets perched in the front row.

Shailene Woodley: Easily my favourite of the pack, the ‘Divergent’ star looked divine wearing a Miu Miu nude and blush colour-blocked deep V-neck dress accented by contrasting crochet seams, complemented with a gorgeous pair of lilac patent-leather pumps. Miu Miu often churn out sugary dresses, so I’m delighted to see Shailene in this more grown-up option – and did I mention how much I am in love with those shoes?

Léa Seydoux: The French beauty, who is officially/unofficially the face of Prada and Miu Miu, was of course front and centre at this show, wearing an alluring Miu Miu black crêpe and chiffon long-sleeved dress with a lace-panelled bodice. That lip is everything. I love the old Hollywood vibe she’s giving off here.

Hailee Steinfeld: The actress was the perfect embodiment of the Miu Miu brand, looking extra cute wearing a blush-pink Miu Miu dress featuring a contrast white trim and dainty jewelled collar. I can’t get enough of the pearl and crystal bow headband and the python Miu Miu clutch for an interesting contrast. Pink satin platform sandals finished her adorable look.

Valentino Spring 2015 Front Row

Valentino’s Spring 2015 collection was presented during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday (September 30) in Paris, France.

Clotilde Courau: The French beauty was a glorious vision of loveliness wearing a red Valentino Resort 2015 sleeveless ladylike dress given an edge with a leather laser-cut studded collar. I also love the contrasting blue-grey pumps she’s working here.

Olivia Palermo: Working a chic, sharp coat and shorts combo in a vivid green hue, the socialite once again opted for her python dual-colour clutch, adding a pair of Aquazzura ‘Sexy Thing’ booties to her look. You can always rely on Olivia to present a chic look with an interesting twist.

Ciara: *Sighs* Methinks this look would’ve worked better with the coat buttoned and belted.

Karl Lagerfeld presented Chanel’s Spring 2015 collection during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday (September 30) yesterday morning.

Elisa Sednaoui: The model brought some colour to the front row wearing a Chanel Resort 2015 ensemble with a distinct laidback vibe, which, as expected, she makes look chic and effortless.

Alexa Chung: As you know, Alexa has been impressing me of late with her red carpet choices, and I expected the same from this event; sadly, I was totally underwhelmed. It’s almost like no effort was put into this at all. The whole look is too boxy and not to my liking. She can do better, especially at Chanel.

Poppy Delevingne: The model/socialite also went down the easy breezy route, selecting a Chanel Resort 2015 red and white romper styled with gold sandals and a red Chanel bag. The look is effortless and chic and, most importantly, looks modern and elegant. She’s a great Chanel ambassador.
