Nicole Richie In Roberto Cavalli – 2013 Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars Party

Like Natalie Portman and Diane Kruger, Nicole Richie worked black-and-white to her advantage, when she attended the 2013 Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars party, hosted on Sunday night in West Hollywood.

The starlet and designer took the plunge in a Roberto Cavalli gown.

I have to say it is nice to see a Cavalli number on the red carpet that isn’t peppered with paillettes, sparkly studs and over-the-top panache.

This minimalistic little number was just sexy enough to be dangerous, with that V-neck and those black racing stripes than ran across the shoulder and down the side.

Nicole accessorized with a demure necklace and a brilliant candy-apple-red House of Harlow 1960 ‘Marley’ clutch.

Her long, wavy bob and a nude lippie completed this mod look.

Heidi Klum In Julien Macdonald – 2013 Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars Party

Heidi Klum joined a bevy of stars on Sunday night for the 2013 Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California.

She channeled the Oscar statuette with her gold Julien Macdonald gown.

While the ‘Project Runway’ host isn’t an Academy Award winner, she certainly was displaying her own ‘trophy’ set.

I did appreciate the Art Deco-fueled inspiration of this ensemble, what with the geometric beading and matching statement earrings. It also followed the sparkling metallic trend we saw so much of on Sunday’s red carpet.

But I simply cannot get past the too-revealing, plunge front of this gown that strutted on the wrong side of risqué—even for this supermodel.

Swept-back hair and a nude lip completed the look—not that anyone was staring at her face.

Miley Cyrus In Azzaro – 2013 Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars Party

Miley Cyrus was a vision in white at the 2013 Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars Party at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood on Sunday night.

The provocative singer-actress chose a sleek, backless Azzaro gown, which flaunted her Pilates-toned frame.

I’m so glad Miley left the grunge behind on this occasion, opting for this cleaner look that still had plenty of white-hot sizzle.

Rows and rows of chunky Lorraine Schwartz bangles corresponded with the dress’s two chain-like straps that draped across the back. Diamond studs added some sparkle to her face and her blush-toned lippie.

Of course, she still brought the edge with her spiked platinum quiff and dark buzzed roots.

But this is how Miley can and should play ‘pretty.’

Petra Nemcova In Ralph & Russo – 2013 Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars Party

Petra Nemcova wowed at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s 2013 Oscars viewing party tonight at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.

The model wore a beautiful silver, Art Deco-inspired one-shoulder gown by European couture design house, Ralph & Russo.

The slinky dress, which was hand-embellished with crystals, was juxtaposed with a dramatic, black silk bow belt and a thigh-high slit.

Black t-strap sandals and a black clutch, both from Salvatore Ferragamo, along with Chopard diamond and black gemstone pendant earrings, accented that artistically oversized bow at her waist.

Side-swept tucked-under hair, a smokey eye and a nude lip provided the finishing touches to this va-va-voom moment.

Paz Vega In Stéphane Rolland Couture – Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party

Paz Vega sizzled on the red carpet at whilst attending Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in West Hollywood last night.

The Spanish actress was stunning wearing a Stéphane Rolland Spring 2012 Couture gown.

Her long sleeved white gown with a fanned detail jutting from the hip might be a deal breaker for some, but I love that it’s very different from what we often see on the red carpet, plus I’m a huge fan of Stéphane Rolland.

Slightly tousled locks, a gold necklace and a gold belt complete this effortlessly glamorous, just-thrown-together look.

Dianna Agron In Carolina Herrera – Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party

Dianna Agron watched last night’s Oscars in West Hollywood at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party.

The ‘Glee’ star went floral in a Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2012 dress. The flowing silk mushroom print gown is pretty enough, but feels too casual for such a major night.

This sweet dress would have been perfect for Saturday night’s Independent Spirit Awards, but just doesn’t quite have the glam factor when compare Dianna’s dress to the rest of the evening’s show-stopping gowns.

A Jimmy Choo clutch and shoes, with Neil Lane jewelry complete the look.

I much prefer the look with the belt. Do you?
