Elle Style Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Elle Style Awards round up 1

Here is a quick roundup of some of the other attendees at the Elle Style Awards 2014, which took place in London on Tuesday (February 18).

Kylie Minogue: Wearing a head-to-toe Saint Laurent look, the singer donned a frilled black organza bustier dress styled with ‘Janis’ black patent-leather pumps and silver jewels.

Foxes: The British singer donned a very summery Miu Miu Spring 2014 lilac ensemble featuring a PVC mini skirt and a sheer blouse with a cardigan thrown over her shoulders. The lilac hue was broken up with a yellow-and-white Miu Miu shoulder bag and embellished Miu Miu silver platform sandals.

Elle Style Awards Menswear Roundup

Elle Style Awards Men

Here is a quick look at some of the fellas on the red carpet from this evening’s (February 18) Elle Style Awards 2014 held at London’s One Embankment.

Pharrell Williams: Not picking up the Best Dressed Man of the Year (although he should have) the musician was happy with his International Recording Artist of the Year award. No surprise that he’s wearing his go-to designer Alber Elbaz; wearing a head-to-toe Lanvin Pre-Fall 2014 look consisting of a black leopard effect tuxedo blazer with satin peak lapels, and black-and-green two-tone cropped trousers. His white cotton tuxedo shirt with accented pearl buttons and styled with a signature black bow-tie, with black leather derbies rounding out his look. Thank god he left his Vivienne Westwood Mountain hat at home.

Tinie Tempah: The British rapper continues his epic run this week, attending his third fashion-related event in as many days. On this occasion to collect his UK Recording Artist Of The Year award you could see him from a mile away wearing a manly magenta Dolce & Gabbana double breasted suit, styled with a black bow-tie and loafers, obviously. It’s a bold look. Not many dudes would even attempt to pull it off, but I gotta say he makes it work, even though I am not a fan of shiny suits.

Karolina Kurkova In Fyodor Golan – Elle Style Awards 2014

Karolina Kurkova In Fyodor Golan - Elle Style Awards 2014

After failing to impress with her last outfit, Karolina Kurkova was back on the red carpet this evening (February 18) for the Elle Style Awards 2014, held at London’s One Embankment.

Shining the light once again on a designer we don’t see too often on the red carpet, the Czech supermodel brought some ferociousness to the proceedings wearing a Fyodor Golan Fall 2014 frock.

Is this feather accented black long-sleeve turtleneck sequin dress with an asymmetrical hem more like it?

I would say hell yeah. Especially as she opted not to wear matching trousers so she could show off her pins instead.

While this may feel more like a Grammy outfit, she certainly upped the ante from the last time out.

Black Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ pumps and onyx earrings rounded out her look.

Katy Perry In Vivienne Westwood – Elle Style Awards 2014

Katy Perry In Vivienne Westwood Gold Label - Elle Style Awards 2014

Katy Perry celebrated alongside the great and good of the fashion industry at the 2014 Elle Style Awards, held at one Embankment in central London (February 18).

Katy chose iconic British designer Vivienne Westwood to accept her Elle Woman of the Year award. And what a fabulous dress to acceot such an award.

As can be expected from Westwood, the Gold Label Capsule Collection ‘Prestige’ dress in silk ivory rose print is cut exceptionally and makes Katy more curvaceously sexy than I’ve see her before.

The floral print is light, feminine and pretty which helps from over-dramatizing the look.

To finish, Katy added Christian Louboutin ‘Body Strass’ jeweled pumps for a contemporary spin and a red polish to channel some retro Elizabeth Taylor glamour.

The only aspect I’d change about this look is Katy’s hair, and most specifically her fringe. Is it me or is it just too short?

You can buy Katy’s Christian Louboutin Body Strass Jeweled Pumps from Barneys.com.

Poppy Delevigne In Emilia Wickstead – Elle Style Awards 2014

Poppy Delevigne In Emilia Wickstead - Elle Style Awards 2014

Poppy Delevingne confirmed her status as a trend-setter at the 2014 Elle Style Awards held at London’s One Embankment (February 18) by wearing an Emilia Wickstead Fall 2014 outfit seen only just a few days ago on a London Fashion Week catwalk.

Breaking away from her usually pretty palette, Poppy opted for much more grown-up shade of ochre which was certainly refreshing.

It was also great to see Poppy break away from her usual look and opt for a cropped lace high-necked long sleeve top with mid-length pencil skirt.

While I’m thoroughly enjoying seeing London’s socialite scene experiment with ladylike looks by Emilia, I do however think the skirt looks a little frumpy which is surprising considering Poppy’s super slender frame.

Overall this is a well thought-out look even though slightly unexpected, but I know Poppy has much more to offer. Do you agree?

Laura Whitmore In Warehouse – Elle Style Awards 2014

Laura Whitmore In Warehouse - Elle Style Awards 2014

Joining Rita Ora and Suki Waterhouse, Laura Whitmore attended the 2014 Elle Style Awards in London’s One Embankment.

Bringing a touch of the high street to the glamorous red carpet, Laura chose a white sheer shirt tucked into a metallic purple mini skirt by sponsor of the evening Warehouse.

While I think the skirt is great and taps into the sports luxe and surfer girl trends of the season, I can’t help but think this would be more suited to a launch event rather than an awards ceremony.

I think it’s highly commendable that Laura has opted for high street rather than designer but this just feels a little too casual, especially when compared to the other looks on the red carpet.

For me, the crisp white works well against the metallic skirt but the shoes really let the look down. I really think Laura should have chosen a pair of patent pumps to tie in with the modern, futuristic edge of the look. Do you agree?

Jourdan Dunn In Tom Ford – Elle Style Awards 2014

Jourdan Dunn In Tom Ford - Elle Style Awards 2014

Jourdan Dunn added a hit of monochrome magic to the 2014 Elle Style Awards’ red carpet at London’s One Embankment (February 18).

Wearing a rather magnificent black and white leather body con Tom Ford Spring 2014 mini dress, Joudan looked every inch the supermodel.

I don’t imagine this dress would look anywhere near as good on anyone other than a super, but on Jourdan it is simply spectacular.

You may remember that Jennifer Lopez wore this same Tom Ford dress to the ‘American Idol’ XIII season premiere event last month – and I think you’ll agree, Jourdan nails it much more strongly.

Jourdan’s super glossy hair and a cool smoky eye ensured her styling was subtly sexy without being too done. Similar to Jennifer’s styling but somehow she just makes it look cooler. What do you think?
