Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Salma Hayek attended the 38th Deauville American Film Festival Closing Ceremony on Saturday night.

For the event the actress chose to wear a gown by British designer Stella McCartney.

Salma looked her stunning self on the red carpet, but I’m not sure everything about this dress works.

While the skirt is a great length – showing offer her slim ankles and peep-toe platforms – the reverse scoop bodice seems to jolt. Perhaps it’s because I’m so used to seeing her enhancing rather than hiding her cleavage?

I love the pop of colour provided by her aqua Judith Leiber East/West crocodile clutch and Graziela earrings.

Astrid Bergès-Frisbey attended the 38th Deauville American Film Festival Opening Ceremony last week.

The multi-faceted actress wore a sea green Chanel dress from the Resort 2013 collection.

It’s a look that’s sure to divide the critics. Some will use words such as toilet brush and jewellery box ballerina, while others will conjure comparisons to modern-day princesses and childhood fantasy characters.

I’m vacillating between the two. I do, however, love the strappy metallic sandals and her soft curls.

Clotilde Courau attended the 2012 Deauville American Film Festival opening ceremony on Friday evening.

The Princess of Venice and Piedmont was radiant wearing a Jil Sander Fall 2012 dress. It’s great to see this collection finally receiving more attention by celebrities.

Her pretty pink bustier dress with a gathered skirt was styled with matching pink platform pumps, with dazzling jewels including a spectacular cocktail ring.

A side-parted modern updo completed her breathtaking look.

On Saturday evening, Rachel Weisz was a vision in white as she took to the red carpet in France for the Deauville American Film Festival premiere for ‘The Bourne Legacy’.

The actress looked radiant wearing a Nina Ricci Resort 2013 dress.

Her ivory sleeveless silk chiffon gown with sheer yoke featured many tiered layers.

While the look is not to my personal taste, I will say she does look beautiful, but I find myself bothered by the dark lip colour with this summery dress.

As we know, many celebs have embraced this dark lip fall trend several months too early.

The success rate has been high, but it doesn’t work for me on this occasion.

Bulgari jewels and sleek straight tresses completed her look.

Yea or nay on the lip colour?

Sandrine Bonnaire, president of the jury for the 2012 Deauville American Film Festival, attended the opening ceremony in France on Friday evening.

The French actress, film director and scriptwriter wore a gorgeous Paule Ka dress from the Black Carpet 2012.

The classic black and white piece with an asymmetrical neckline had a delightful gathered detail on the shoulder.

I was about to fall head over heels about this look until I got to the clutch.

Had she downsized the champagne coloured oversized clutch for a much more elegant and complementary option, I would’ve loved to have added this to the BDOTW list.

I will just have to picture this with a chic miniaudere because everything else, including her hair, the makeup, the diamond drop earrings and a matching bracelet is perfection.
