Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Leslie Mann In Honor - 2013 Critics' Choice Movie AwardsPretty in pink was Leslie Mann at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, hosted last night at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

The actress was definitely seeing the world through rose-coloured glasses, as she embraced all sweet shades of bubblegum and cotton candy with her Honor Spring 2013 confection, plucked like a piece of taffy from the runway.

A sheer, long-sleeve lace top melted into a high-waisted, knee-length matte bubble skirt, and a Tiffany ‘Morgan’ clutch matched it all perfectly in pink.

Her fuchsia Jimmy Choo ‘Fitch’ ankle-strap heels weren’t the best for this look, but they were better than those shown on the runway: flat white sandals would have not worked for the red carpet. An edgier shoe in a fun, contrasting shade of cobalt would have been interesting.

A raspberry lip, natch, topped off his look that proved even redheads like Leslie can go pink.

Amanda Seyfried In Marios Schwab - 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Amanda Seyfried continued to show love for London-based designers when she took to the red carpet at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards , held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California this evening.

The ‘Les Miserables’ star wore a Marios Schwab Spring 2013 dress which was a lot more fashion forward than the look sported by her co-star Anne Hathaway.

Her unique feminine frock featured a black-and-blue lace top half and a free-flowing chiffon skirt with a diamond-shaped hemline which allowed her to flaunt her black strappy Roger Vivier sandals.

A chic knotted bun, cat-eyes and jewelled Lorraine Schwartz earrings completed her look.

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji - 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Whoever coined the phrase, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, was clearly referring to Octavia Spencer and Tadashi Shoji.

Octavia took to the red carpet at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California this evening for the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards wearing a custom-made dress by her go-to designer.

Her navy tulle draped cap-sleeve dress, inspired by a gown from the designers’ look book, was enriched with paillette lace appliqué across the sleeve and bodice.

Navy satin accessories, tear drop Irene Neuwirth earrings and a half-up-half-down hairstyle completed her look.

Is this still a winning combination for you, or would you like to see Octavia switch things up a bit?

Marion Cotillard In Zuhair Murad Couture - 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

When I saw Marion Cotillard on the red carpet this evening for the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, my first reaction was, “the spell is broken”.

Childish I know, but I’m excited to finally see her in something other than Dior and especially Zuhair Murad Couture.

Her Fall 2012 black lace A-line dress featuring floral beaded appliqué and an open back is the most playful I’ve seen Marion in a long time.

I’m sure you will agree that her spark, that many of us were missing, is finally back.

As you would expect from Marion, her styling was impeccable with nude accessories including Jimmy Choo ‘Tahi’ sandals plus she dazzled in Chopard jewels.

A side parted bun and neutral makeup completed her look.

Needless to say she is my favourite so far.

Anne Hathaway In Oscar de la Renta - 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Anne Hathaway has been mixing thing up on the red carpet lately, but she opted for a classic, relatively simple look for the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards , held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California this evening.

The ‘Les Miserables’ actress wore a slinky Oscar de la Renta gown.

Her spiral bugle bead gown, which no doubt shimmered on the red carpet, was styled with diamond stud earrings, a diamond encrusted bracelet, her wedding ring and Casadei gold vegan sandals with the signature ‘Blade’ heel.

My first reaction was that this look feels quite bare, but with that megawatt smile and perfectly styled hair adding anything else may have been overkill.

Jennifer Lawrence In Prabal Gurung - 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Jennifer Lawrence was also making her second appearance on the red carpet in so many days when she attended the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California this evening.

I was delighted that she wasn’t wearing a drastically aging dress on this occasion as she donned a Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013 gown, but did it have to be black – again?

This is her fourth all black look in a row.

Her stunning gown featuring a sheer inset at the leather yoke, sweetheart neckline and all over draped detail was accented with a leather waistband with a silver buckle.

The hair is a bit lacklustre for this gown, but I’m appreciating the step in the right direction.

Chopard jewels, Jimmy Choo ‘Vamp’ sandals and a Roger Vivier frame crystal clutch completed her look.
