Julia Roberts In Juan Carlos Obando - 2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Julia Roberts attended the 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hangar on Thursday (January 16) in Santa Monica.

I’ve never been a fan of sunglasses on the red carpet, but on this occasion, my biggest objection is her Juan Carlos Obando gown.

Julia had been on such a great roll lately, finally regaining her red carpet mojo, so this is disappointing.

Even though most of you disliked her Dolce & Gabbana Golden Globes gown, I kind of liked it; this, I don’t like.

All in all, it’s too frumpy, not flattering, and way too long.

A black Barbara Bui python baguette clutch from the Spring 2014 rounded out this disastrous look.

Juliette Lewis In Zac Posen - 2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Juliette Lewis attended the 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hangar on Thursday (January 16) in Santa Monica.

The actress wore a red Zac Posen gown featuring a deep v-neckline and padded shoulders which she styled with Rupert Sanderson shoes, a Brian Atwood animal print clutch, and Coomi jewels.

Zac Posen is a designer Juliette has worn the most since her red carpet revival.

With breathtaking results like this, it’s no wonder Posen is her go-to designer.

Wavy tresses and a complementary red lip rounded out her look.

Jessica Chastain In Nina Ricci - 2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Jessica Chastain enjoyed another night out on the red carpet at the 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hangar on Thursday (January 16) in Santa Monica.

The actress looked divine wearing a romantic Nina Ricci Pre-Fall 2014 cypress green silk crepe gown with a lace yoke back which featured light ruffles.

Balancing feminine fancy with grown-up gumption, she completed the look with a part-braided do and orange lip shade.

Red heads and green gowns are always a winning combination for me. Does it work for you on this occasion?

Amy Adams In Roland Mouret - 2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Amy Adams, nominated in the ‘Best Actress in a Comedy’ category for ‘American Hustle,’ took to the red carpet at the 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hangar on Thursday (January 16) in Santa Monica.

Following up her stunning Valentino Couture gown at the Golden Globes, Amy looked breathtaking wearing a Roland Mouret ‘Tinea’ gown.

The sublime streamlined gown features a draped neckline for intoxicating sensuality, and black grosgrain ribbon accented her waist and shoulders.

Delicate Neil Lane jewelry accessorized her look with glossy lips rounding out her look.

Like Cate and Lupita, Amy is most definitely one-to-watch this awards season.

Kristen Bell In Pamella Roland - 2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Kristen Bell attended the 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hangar on Thursday (January 16) in Santa Monica, California as one of the presenters of the night.

The actress opted for a dramatic Pamella Roland part-embellished halter gown featuring a keyhole detail and a floor-sweeping train.

Styled with a black Edie Parker clutch, Brian Atwood shoes, and Norman Silverman earrings, it’s a big gown for the petite star, but one I think she pulls off well.

Perhaps inspired by Keira Knightley’s bold smudged eye makeup, Kristen’s eye makeup was just as dramatic as her gown.

Sophie Nelisse In J. Mendel - 2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

Sophie Nelisse attended the 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held at Barker Hangar on Thursday (January 16) in Santa Monica, California, nominated in the Best Young Actor/Actress category for ‘The Book Thief.’

The 13-year-old Canadian actress wore a J. Mendel Resort 2014 strapless printed organza party dress featuring a bustier-style bodice with contrast sheer pink chiffon at the neckline and black contrast sheer chiffon panels at the hem.

I’m not really a fan of the black hemline; you may remember that Maria Sharapova wore a similar dress from this collection with the same hemline. It’s in total contrast to the breeziness of the rest of her look.

Her waist was accented with crystal embellishment which complemented her silver pumps.

Wavy tresses and a pretty pink lip colour rounded out her look.
