Alexis Bledel In Rasario – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

Alexis Bledel attended the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) in Santa Monica, California, where ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ celebrated a win for Best Drama Series.

The actress looked elegant in a two-toned Rasario number.

There is a modernity to the gown with the black juxtaposing the silvery grey, yet it still has a timeless quality.

I’m pleased she shortened the dress as it created a sharper silhouette. Plus, it showed off her Sophia Webster Lilico Crystal pumps which tied in the bow detail at the waist.

I hope the ensemble’s grace doesn’t get forgotten about because this is a charming look.

Alessandra Mastronardi In Chanel – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

Alessandra Mastronardi was one of the beauties in white at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) in Santa Monica, California.

The Italian actress wore Chanel to the 2018 Golden Globes Awards and showed her support for the designer again with an asymmetrical style from the Resort 2018 collection.

There is a clear Grecian influence, but she has downplayed it with her accessories, opting for pointed-toe pumps, a sleek hairstyle and a hint of red lipstick.

The one-shouldered dress has a refreshing feel that extends beyond the colour. The exaggerated corset waist detail against the flowing fabric is something that hasn’t been overplayed on the red carpet.

Rachel Brosnahan In Zuhair Murad – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

Rachel Brosnahan made a graceful entrance at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) in Santa Monica, California.

The Best Actress in a Comedy Series winner donned a Zuhair Murad Resort 2018 dress which was brimming with delicate embellishment.

The intricate detailing and pastel colour were in keeping with the designer’s aesthetic, but the sleek ankle-length silhouette was a surprise.

The fitted shape actually gave the detail work an armor-like quality which could have been enhanced further if she kept the silver belt from the lookbook.

It’s a shame that the colour didn’t enliven her complexion as the look has lost some of its magic.

More successful were the Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Penelope Pearl’ sandals which played up the romance.

Messika jewels completed her look.

Sarah Hyland In Naeem Khan – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

Sarah Hyland had a princess moment at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) in Santa Monica, California.

There will likely be Carrie Bradshaw comparisons to her Naeem Khan Resort 2018 dress, but I’m getting more of an Audrey Hepburn feel.

There is a timeless elegance to the style with the mix of monochromatic fabrics and the understated accessories.

The skirt could have overwhelmed her petite, but the proportions are dramatic without being suffocating.

Her sleek bun and red lipstick brought the sophisticated theme home.

Greta Gerwig In Fendi – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

Greta Gerwig appeared to be full of love at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) in Santa Monica, California.

The ‘Lady Bird’ director wore a Fendi Pre-Fall 2018 gown that framed an embellished heart detail on her chest.

I can see people either loving or hating applique. I appreciate the craftsmanship of the design as there is no obvious nude netting. Plus, the loving mood it projects is very welcome.

The thing that lets it down for me is the size and placement. Perhaps a smaller heart closer to where her own is would have been better as I find the neckline a touch overwhelming.

What do you think?

The crosshatch fabric with beading may not be as bold as some embellishment, but it drew the eye around the long-sleeved style while enhancing her statuesque beauty.

A coordinating clutch and Dena Kemp jewelry presented a harmonized finish.

Zoe Kazan In Valentino – 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards

Zoe Kazan made a romantic statement at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) in Santa Monica, California, joining Kate Bosworth and Gal Gadot.

‘The Big Sick’ actress’s M.O. is typically feminine styles with special detailing. This Valentino Spring 2018 gown is an elevated version of it.

The sheer bodice and arms add a new dimension to the mixture of textiles, but I am pleased additional layers of white were added to the dress so there isn’t any distracting underwear reveal.

I can see the yellow sleeve detail being bothersome to some, but the injection of the golden hue against the multicoloured dots has a modernity that balances the sweetness of the style.

The pale pink clutch put another surprising colour into the mix.
